IMHO, we, each one of us, hold the keys as to what will eventually happen.

The Art of War is to Win the War Not the Battles

(+) If we convert family, friends, doctors we're headed in the right direction
(-) If we have an attitude that it legal, and technically "I can do what I want", then we might win a very short battle, but lose the war
(+) When in doubt, take a pass or be descrete, and be aware of the reactions of those around you... any "killer" looks need to be poilitely addressed on a personal level with information. If your kind enough and informed enough you might win an allie.
(+) Tell the truth, never lie. If it's a question you'd prefer not to answer, opt out of an answer with a, "Good question. I got to check that out."
(+) Be responsible in your storage of all nic. containing items. Child proof everything especially if it's in a purse or pocket.
(+) Never trust your kids to keep their hands off your "stuff", regardless of their age. Keep it labeled and locked.
(+) Take the time to do the math and monitor your intake.

Bravo Monkey! It will be about not taking the "smokers" path. It will be about responsibility and about respect for those who aren't e-smokers. The "golden age" of smoking, as TB lovingly refers to it, is an excellent example of what not to do for social acceptance of our habit. (no offense TB - simply quoting ya!)

Another thing to add to the list above:
(+) When disposables do become popular, encourage others to not throw them on the ground! And even though it is yucky, pick them up when you see them. Our habit is far cleaner than tobacco and we need to ensure that it stays this way.
