We should also organize a something to Congressman Stearns, thanking him for his support so far and asking him to continue. Remind him that 62% of smokers have a household income of less than 36k per year. (His a republican so chances to make an impressing on low income families are few and far between) and let him know I current numbers... Last I read between 4 and 8 million Americans vap... I'd like a more exact number but even splitting the difference at 6 million that is a full 2% of the US population.

I think much more effective is getting 100 people to post over 100 days - one person and one post a day. That keeps it current.

Density is an issue though... How many people people do you think post to the Whitehose face book? 100? 1000? 1 person posting per day is only effective if the ratio is low enough for it not to be overlooked

Also government is about groups... we need a show of unity and common purpose, rather than scattered individuals voicing an opinion

This is a brilliant idea IMO... are there any advocacy groups formed on "our" behalf yet? Seriously im thinking all it would take is a recognized group gifting an e-cig to him to get the ball rollin in our direction

Actually I think mentioning cancer is a bad idea.... Some people follow the "absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence" line of thought, we don't want people arguing a "there's no proof it doesn't" stance

I think regulation calls for the FDA who wants them banned, they're not banned right now because a federal judge realized they're a form of cigarettes.
Cigarettes are protected by Congress against bans.

The problem is that the FDA is fighting and fighting and appealed the judge's decision.

The best thing to do is snail mail the whitehouse all the various research materials on e-cigs and tobacco harm reduction. Someone who screens the mail may actually read the material. This will work better than sending personal testimonials about e-cigs. Those are generally considered anecdotal.

Oh, I was thinking of writing about a movement to preserve the right to vape instead of smoke, writing every satate and federal legislator. That way they can't say they didn't know what we wanted.

I actually would be against that.

If 100 people all post on one day we make a bit statement but after 30 days it falls off and no one sees it.

I'm a total Facebook ...... I'm on every day when I get home from work (about 430 am), so I can post every day.

I don't know how to word what I want to say. Should everyone post the same thing, and if so, who's going to write it up?
