I haven't had wicking or flooding problems but the flavor on this tank isn't quite as good as the Merlin was.

Try different coil sizes. What have you tried?

My standard coils are all twisted kanthal 26awg. Good coil contact area, easy to work with (not too flimsy).

I am running the same 3mm 26/32 Clapton coil I was running on the Merlin. Should I try larger or different wire? I've got the kind I used, 26x2/32 Clapton, 24 and 26 gauge in stainless and kanthal, and also some triple twisted 28 that I haven't tried in anything yet.

Good call on the fused Clapton, dropped one in tonight and it did help flavor wise, still not as good as duals but way better than it was with single strand...

The only single coil that I've found thst kinda come close to a dual coil is a ss316L juggernaut coil spaced for tc.

Try doing a 2mm coil. I was a 3mm + coil on everything until this Engine Nano. It just makes more flavor for some strange reason. Use something simple at first just to see what happens.

Actually, It does make sense as less cotton can help with the wicking , so you can crank it up a bit , I think this air flow needs at least 60-70 watts to get a dense vape. but with 2.5mm-3.5mm coils that I've tried, I can run it at 50 watts top or I get a burnt sensation when I hit it any more than 2 seconds.
With a 2mm coil, my worry is so little cotton can cause flooding when you refill it.
Anyway, I will try the 2mm coil setting, if it's good, I'm gonna update here, but still, if I want some 60+ watts I just go any two coils tanks, right? And so little tolerance just means not good engineering to me.

60-70 for a dense vape? Not for me. I wish I knew how to take a video, but at 30-40(33.5 my sweet spot). If I hit it for more than 4 seconds ill damn near choke myself...lol.

For me, it's all about the air flow, man. On the kayfun, 25-30 watts means super dense and warm, but on the engine nano, 50 watts feels just so airy.

I think they just really f***ed up with the flavour guys.
Sorry to say that but I bought one with my hardearned money and tried and tried with it, no, something is wrong.
The wick holes are just not big enough to catch-up with the massively opened airfholes on the chimney if I were to guess.
And, blocking the back hole doesn't help at all! By doing that you only make things worse.

My suggestion is not to buy this tank, If you don't like airy vape.

That was basically my assessment as well, sorry you had to buy one to figure it out. I am really liking the engine mini though, it vapes just like a 200 dollar hellfire dripper I used to have.

This is what I am using in the mini

316L flat claptons, working flawlessly in TC, just use TFR range for a 24awg round 316L

No offense intended, but I just cant understand how some are finding any negatives in the flavor dept with this. Or clouds for that matter. Id love to try what others think is good to them(have 2 minis coming) because I cant imagine things getting better than this.

Seems to me that most reviews that I've seen say that it's not really a mtl. Who else is mtl with it?
