I keep saying that I'm going to make fused claptons and I still haven't done it. I bought a few of those swivel things and extra wire too.

How did you make yours Heartsdelight?
Were u asking what gauges? I made 2x30g/38g ss316l and 2x28g/38g ss316l. I want to try Aliens but haven't worked up the courage yet lol! The swivel things will come in handy for Aliens.

I have 28 and 30g wire and I'm pretty sure I have 36g. I wonder if I should get some 40g also to try???

Ok, you talked me into it. My nano needed a rebuild anyway. I did my first build with rayon and triple twisted 28 kanthal. I'm getting a little bit of a funky taste at first.
What @markfm said ^^ will get rid of the funky taste

The 36g will work, 40g too just depends on what ohms you want.

The wrap really won't have any effect on resistance, the current flow is primarily through the core. I'd stick with 36G as the lowest, as 40G is hard to even see with a magnifying glass, let alone control with your fingers (yes, some eagle eyed professional builder could do it, but that's not me).

I should have known better than to change coil material and wicking at the same time. The rayon seems to be wicking fine but I'm not getting very good flavor with the triple twisted 28 versus the Clapton I was running before.

Did u use rayon with the Clapton?

No, I used cotton. I just got the rayon after that. I just put in a new Clapton coil with rayon a little bit ago. It's wicking great but just not getting great flavor. I'm thinking that either I forgot to add something when I was mixing the last batch of lemonade or my tastebuds are in a funk.

I'm starting to get frustrated with the nano. At first I wasn't getting great flavor then found that a smaller coil worked well. That lasted until I rebuilt it with different wire and rayon instead of cotton. I wasn't getting good flavor but plenty of vapor so I switched back to a Clapton coil like was working well before and rayon. The rayon wicked really well but still wasn't getting great flavor. Then I switched back to cotton and got good flavor at first but now it's muted again. Its set up now with the exact same setup as what was working well before. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong.

OK, this probably falls under the "thanks for nothing" sort of advice, but I'll throw it out anyway. I've had similar problems with other tanks of flavor coming and going. I'm not saying you have vaper's tongue. Still, what i would do is this. build it just like before wicked the same as before. Put it down!!! Don't vape it. Go vape something else for a day or two.

Then come back to it and judge the flavor. That eliminates a few things. First, the very tough judging right after building when you are most critical. That very first draw colors your judgement with continuing use. Leaving it alone and vaping something else will clear the critical judging of the tank. You might discover when you pick it up and vape it later, your perception will be different. Flavor is subjective and lots of things influence it, including our expectation at the moment.

If necessary after that, we can go through some relaxation exercises and visualization meditation.;)

Sometimes vaping can be strange. I can be sitting on the couch watching TV and my vape has no flavor. I can then simply lay down on the couch and all of a sudden I get a flavor explosion... Very strange, right??? Anyone else experience something like this?

Some quick updates, I enlarged the wicking holes with a milling cutter by around 50%,it works much much better.
The first time I saw the deck of the nano I figured there was going to be problems with wicking. The thickness of the juice hole walls should have been milled down right from the factory.
