I hate that. Same thing with my Serpent (which I don't use anymore). How difficult is it to design these correctly...
I've been watching this thread for a while (still waiting on my Nanos to arrive) and this is the 1st time that I think I read having to wind counter-clockwise... Where the Hell have I been?

Most coil jigs are designed to wind coils Clinton clear clockwise.

You can use any jig to wrap coils clockwise or counter clockwise. To wrap a coil counter clockwise just flip the wire to the other side and wrap.

Well, I couldnt wait for my clapton wire to get here. I saw the coil master kit came with some 24 ga kanthal and figure what the heck. Never built my own coil, no better time than the present to start. I made a 4mm 7 wrap spaced coil. That coil master kit made it easy! It came out to .782ohm. Wicking this thing is so simple it isnt funny. Put it on my Alien, 33 watts and fire away. Instantly started coughing, this thing puts out a much denser vape than the baby beast I was using! I thought to myself this sucker aint getting the best of me, so I sat upright(just got off work and was relaxing on the couch) and took another shot. No coughing but I couldnt see crap for a couple seconds, talk about clouds!.....lol.

I will say this though, flavor is about the same as the baby beast. So maybe 4mm is a little much. Not sure. 1st RTA so not sure what to expect. But I do know this. Im hooked! No more buying tanks with factory coils. I think I pretty much knew I was heading this direction....ordered an Avocado 24 from FT yesterday...lol.

Thanks for doing what you do all, its opened a new door for me. Appreciate it!
I am quite surprised you find a basic 24g wrap to put out more vapor than the Baby Beast. All the coils heads for the TFV8 really don't come alive until 80W+ are applied to them. If you've been running them at 33W then I can see why the Nano puts out more vapor. ;)

If you are looking for great RDTA then have a look at the Combo RDTA or Limitless Plus, they are a much better RDTA experience than that Avocado 24 IMHO.

Yes, possible, but a bit more difficult. The wire orientation is wrong so extra care needs to be taken. Mostly it's just annoying.

I've been winding my coils like this for my Merlins and some others. I don't get the big deal...???
When there are 4 post holes like on the Merlin, it really doesn't make any difference. 95% of my atties (RDA & RTA) have the coils mounted with the lower leg on the left and the higher leg on the right (Clockwise Wrap). When you toss a 2 hole build deck into the mix that has those positions reversed is just a PiTA if you wind premade coils ahead of time. It would have been better if they had made the deck with the holes level instead of reversed.

I find it a personal preference with the Merlins. I just always used the higher hole on the left pole and the lower on the right. I like the high and low holes. The coil fits naturally.

It's really is not a big deal to put the lower leg in the top hole and vice versa. The coil will conform to however you build it.
Longer coil legs. I try to keep my them short for best tc performance. Sure, it can be done, just an annoying design flaw (IMO). I'll just wrap my coils counterclockwise on my jig.

Ive been running a bb and bbb both with the Q2 .4 coil. Its "rated" to 80 watts, but have you ever used one at 80? It starts getting real warm at 60, 80 is hot! Personally, I like a much cooler vape. 45 was perfect as far as vapor production, but flavor wasnt great at all. I backed it down to 33 where I found flavor best for ME. Could be part of the juice im using, need to go through some V3 and WJLC I have on hand. But that has nothing to do with heat, and at 80 it may come alive, but it wont for me, because quite frankly if I have to vape hot ill quit and keep smoking. We're all different in our needs, what works for you may not be right for me.

What really helped me with getting a nice warm vape with consistency and without the "hot" type of vape was moving to TC. I like building in SS anyway, and with TC I just get a smooth warm vape throughout the draw. No worry about "if I hold the fire button another second too long it's going to scald my mouth". I use it with simple build and with big Clapton type coils. Works great for me, and lowers my power demands considerably, so my batteries last a good long day even with a 0.2 ohm dual Clapton build to power.

Well subtanksupply finally has them in house, just ordered the BLACK version, if I like it I'll find a GOLD version, but Subtank does not carry the gold. Sorry, I won't be constantly updating the shipping status. :)

Curious to see if it's better then my current favorite, the Merlin Mini. Wish there were a 22/23mm version, 25 is too big for many of my smaller mods. Was not thrilled with the Ammit single coil RTA, but the LEAK FREE feature of this tank is what interests me the most, assuming it is on par flavor wise with the MM.
