I always modify the "too airy" tanks to make them restricted.

Caoul you explain how you managed to restrict the airflow on the engine nano? I have one and quite like it, bit would really like to get a more restricted draw, and just reducing the top airflow just kills it...

Thanks

I didn't need my Nanos modified... They work perfectly for me.

If I had to make them more restricted, I would try sticking some Stainless Steel mesh inside the air space of the bell.

I have to put my coils much higher than that
Are we not supposed to dry burn SS wire???

Yes you can dry burn ss.
It depends on the type, 430 is nickel free&you can dry burn all you want, the others, only gentle pulsing reccommended.
Taking a shot in the dark here....

Does anyone know the brand of cotton that comes with the OBS Engines?

I have using Cotton Bacon for so long I never think about it, but maybe my taste buds are changing because I like the flavor from the included cotton over my bacon.

I have a few squares of KGD somewhere I can try but I can't find them, in that box is a few squares of Muji and a few Kumo, i'll be damned if I know where the hell I put it....

probably gonna hop on Nordstroms.com and order a couple of those 12.00 boxes for the future.
I had to use cotton bacon for a while and the flavor was always muted, I found, after trying a bunch of the branded cottons, muji/kgd is just better. Rayon is good too, I use them for different things, rayon will give you better wicking speed while the pads will give you better flavor, if one or the other is lacking you can always go with the different wicking material.

Still get nothing but dry hits. It may be okay for 20 minutes but then the dry hits start coming. I lowered the coils, raised the coils (fused claptons n80 reading .31 ohms) I tried 3mm and then dropped it to 2.5mm to see if it would help. Also cut the rayon so it barely goes into the wicking holes and also make sure they're nice and fluffy and there's not much resistance. I've tried everything but luckily my ijoy exo rta will be coming in tomorrow. I own 2 obs engines and they're fantastic but this nano has caused more headaches than anything. Flavor is just okay but after the 2nd pull, the dry hits start coming.

Fasttech's 'DEALS' code is active now for certain items, one of which is the copper-colored Tesla Nano 120w (15% off all colors). I had been coveting that one for a long time, but have held off due to no USB port (no upgrades possible). As it's on the DEALS listing for this weekend at $39.51, I grabbed it to pair with a rose gold Engine Nano that I will be ordering next weekend (<-- keeping it on-topic :pervy:) during their Easter sale next weekend ($20.67 w/ 10% off) saving me about $10 total for the set up... Umm, OK, twist my arm.

sounds like after your wick swells up, it is choking off the juice holes
i haven't used rayon yet
but i'm sure the people that do in this thread will chime in to help

I use rayon this is what I did & it's great! I used a 3.5mm i.d. clapton in line with the post holes. Wicked tight through the coil, cut length to base angled scissors towards the coil & cut about 50% of the tails off. Tucked in wicking channel with about 1mm dangling in the wick hole.

I think the Exo rta is slightly better in flavor but definitely better in the size department. I have the Merlin mini & I hate using it cos I'm constantly filling it.

good to know thanks
so even tho the merlin mini sounds like a good deal for 19 bucks
think i'm gonna pass
(also heard there was a problem with the cap causing pressure inside the tank
that could cause leaking out the AFC,
but there was an easy fix by turning the tank upside down)

It doesn't really have jfc so with those types of tanks I use the burping technique.

    Somewhere between here and there
Well my exo is truly taking the slow boat. I was hoping to get it by this weekend but it still shows in transit.

On a happier note, I figured out that the blueberry pancake recipe I was using in the nano and mini was the real problem I was having getting good flavor. I switched liquids in both and they are doing great.
