All in the name of Science!

I've stuck with 2.5, vertically centered between the two post holes.
I've been keeping my coil centered also but I have the need to try other ways for the fun of it(or Science)... It's just very easy to build on these.

How big is your coil? Some find that a smaller diameter coil works better, some larger... You should try both and see what works.

I've begun wicking like ricks(OP) with tails to the bottom, as I can vape the tank pretty much dry before getting control-messages in TC. Without, I notice the wattage drops before it's completely dry. Not that much of a difference, but i'm lazy and like the extra vaping I can do before needing a refill. I use the dual-coil version more though, which has better flavor to me and more dense. In both, the coil needs to be high to maximize airflow-coverage... It's an art to find out though, how much or little cotton/rayon, to not choke the flow, or flood...

Using TC is a great tool to learn how to wick propperly as you'll not have a stable vape without perfect wicking(if liking hot vapes at least), which otherwise would properly still work in wattage mode...

It's most likely all in your head...if there is a noticeable difference, could just be the way this thing wicks, a 2mm coil much more forgiving bc you just stuff the wick down...

Bigger coils than that you're going to need to do like I do and trim it down or lay it on top rather than put it through.

Tbh the 2mm coil would be a better idea on a different tank, this thing has so much dispersed and wasted air, you want as much of it to hit your coil as possible. If your set on the 2mm coil, try plugging up that back hole.

This is very interesting information and explains why I was having so many problems before. I was using a 2.5mm coil when I first got the tank. I put the cotton tails all the way through the holes and didn't have any problems. I don't remember but I think I switched to a wider coil because I found it easier to work with rayon. That's when I was getting all the flooding with the tails all the way through the holes. The tank stopped flooding when I started laying the tails (rayon or cotton) over the holes.

Any recommended builds to reduce juice consumption? I feel like this thing goes through e-liquid very quickly.

Right now, I have a 24 gauge SS316 coil with an ID of 3.5mm that came out at .45 ohms or thereabouts. The airflow is barely open.
I go thru about 4-5ml a day with mine.

Amen, preach it brother! The wicking makes a huge difference in TC, I've had Ohms Too High just because the wick was too loose.
It all seemed so simple when I first decided to leave factory coils behind. ;)

I vaped it during my 15-minute ride to work and took two sub-10-minute vape breaks and it's almost half-way empty :(

DIY juice.
Doesn't bother me at all how much my tanks drink after that change. My Aromamizer Plus drinks like a sailor on shore leave.

Ah but most short vape breaks result in about 10 minutes of constant chain vaping, at least for me. If you want to see how much juice a single coil tank can really blow through, try the Pharaoh RTA. Fully topped of it holds a little under 5 ml, and I can knock that down in an hour or two, and I'm normally a 7 ml a day total vaper.
