I read an article and something like 40% of americans only have a 0.3% share of the wealth. I don't remember th rest of the # but it was staggering to see how little 80% of the population has as a share of the wealth. There is a reason the founders of America put in the clause that every man has the right to bare arms. It was not to fend off invaders or animals, it was to take there country back if it every became not far from what is today. Totally corrupt and run by major corporations.

... by bankers disguised as major corporations and foundations :) For example although the WHO stands for World Health Organization it is nothing more than another bank. It may not deal with money perse but policy that affects the economy. Once one has researched the Fractional Reserve System and what it means it is not hard to understand what happened or is happening to the economy.

Now I don't want to oversimplify the situation, as it's a very complex problem. Is goes far beyond the graph below, but it's a great visual to show how bad the wealth divide in the States has become:

It's quite sad how the price of food and other necessary items goes up, yet the regular worker isn't getting any more money to make up for it. The wage gaps are so high it makes me sick.

The sad part is that those rich CEO types don't even realize it, they obviously lose touch and have no clue what the real world is like anymore. The people are finally standing up for what is right and I hope it continues.

Relevant: Food speculation: aFood speculation: 'People die from hunger while banks make a killing on food' | Global development | The Observer

Bottom line is that rising food prices are not due to supply and demand, but again due to speculation at Wall Street. Same reason oil prices go up. There have been instances in history when supply greatly out weighs demand, but prices are artificially kept high, effectively starving people due to greed.

My old radio show/ site was all about these matters, and I found that trying to get people to listen was alike to p!$$!%& in the wind so to speak... let it be in person or over the airwaves. That being said, I don't find efforts to bring about political change useless in the slightest, I just find that it wears people thin awfully fast when they watch their peers get beaten in peaceful protests, attacked for trying to do what is right and ridiculed for caring.

Perhaps the current economical state had been more of an eye opener for the masses, or others have been more successful in getting out the information out there (quite probable) but along with our worry about if food will be affordable... We also have to worry about WHO's legislation there too. Look up Codex Alimentarius (CODEX ALIMENTARIUS) and you will see how there is a global push to standardize the treatment of food and watch the film Food Inc. (http://wideeyecinema.com/?p=5752) to see some of the processes the food is put through. You might just want to vomit.

There's a reason to everything, most of the time it boils down to one of 2 things; Money and Power... and after you have enough of the first, the $$$ is just a means to an end to get the latter.

Used to LOVE Hot Dogs and Fried Baloney. Watched a vid of how they were made and just about threw up. That was 8 months ago and haven't had either since nor do I wish to eat any. Kinda like analogs...Hey maybe if someone put out a vid illustrating the everyday chems they put in analogs....
As for Occupy Canada the big brokerages run this world. Electronically they buy and sell small countries in seconds. Watched an interview with a European Brokerage Trader and he shocked the interviewer by stating the U.S. Govt doesn't run things. He then stated the large brokerage houses like Goldman Sachs run the world and if they want Greece to default the it will happen. First time I've ever seen journalists/ interviewers speechless. Absolute priceless silence because he was just saying what they/ we all know.Awhile ago it was revealed that ONE trader was holding 80% of copper commodity via the mkt- absolute manipulation and if he wanted the price to go up or down it was his choice alone.

It was the large brokerage houses that forced Lehman brothers to run out of cash. 3 weeks before BK LB correctly stated it had enough cash on hand. The very same firms/ people that were withdrawing their $$ from LB were also short LB. And in the end portions of LB were sold for pennies on the dollar to...guess who??? the very same brokers that were shorting LB. Talk about a win/ win.

I belong to a stock mkt forum and one of the Vets there is a retired oilman. He disputed, with fact, much of what BP and the contractor (Transocean?) were saying as to the cause of the failure and in the end he proved to be right on the money. Of course as with all oil spills time vanquishes folks memories. Re: tankers they should mandate all be double hulled immediately.

The .9 % that have 98% of the money in the U.S. are having a competition to see which one can have the most. They couldn't care less about anyone else. They have a psychotic problem of power and control. The government should have put controls on these greedy people(if that is what you call them, people!!) back in the mid 80s when the housing boom exploded. All realtors were making a bundle back then and the Govt. curbed their %s on sales. The Govt. forgot the ones that were profitting from the mortgages, etc.
