Erm, you were a smoker who is using ecigs to replace tobacco? That's exactly what a cigarette alternative is. I must be not reading properly, it's too early here or something.

oddly enough (as i seen Dusty was working double time this morning :D) I was in a vape chat (a little off the beaten path) and there was someone in there that was using 0mg and never smoked a day in there life, but just liked to vape the different flavors......(no you did not read that wrong, sent me for a loop too) so i guess anything is possible?

i guess what i meant was if health canada can add cigarette into the titles of a vaporizer they will put it in the same category as cigarettes then they will go after it like cigarettes and the government will tax it like cigarettes and it will go downhill from there, that's what all the hub bub is about, the government is ...... that we are sidetracking their crazy taxes on cigarettes, i know it's costing them 10 bucks a day just from me, now times that by like 5 million across canada (if everyone went to vaping) they would have to get real jobs

I may be wrong...but didn't most of us start ecigs because other NRTs weren't working and we were looking for a new alternative to quit smoking?

Yes and no here. I never really wanted to quit, but knew I should. I tried everything over about 7 years; the gum burned my mouth even at the lowest doses (and didn't help one bit), the patches made me want to smoke more and gave me a rash, inhalers did nothing for me, hypnosis lasted max 6 months and champix almost caused a divorce (and din't stop me smoking).

Eventually I found e-cigs and after one failed start (fail with 10mg juice lol) I've been using them for over 6 months and now don't want to quit, but rather just get down to 12mg.

So it's different to the other methods as they are intended to get you off nicotine altogether, while e-cigs are more of a way to replace the way I get my nicotine.

I know a few people like that. A few friends of mine in the states that have jobs that require drug tests. They can't vape what they really want to and the ecigs have worked for them.

Another girl I know here thought the widely available ecigs had nic in them. She quit without realizing it! lol

I'm sorry for having a differing opinion on what HC will be doing. Just because I think they won't allow nicotine sales to continue untaxed doesn't mean I like it. I also didn't mean to say that no-nic and batteries will be falling under the same guidelines. I don't want to ruffle feathers so I feel best I keep out of the whole discussion. It may be wise to have an exit strategy for when/if they do clamp down harder, but until then vape happy and vape safe folks.

This whole thread is not about what the most gifted person can predict on HC......only HC knows what the :censored: they are doing and we are not privy. I am doubting this tread is about flouncing either.

My "back up" plan is very simple in design and function: If by this time i am not back home in the USA to vape my little crocked heart out, then i will do it here in Canada. *IF* while i am here HC has a hay day and clamps down so hard on e-cig's,i will be the first one to walk to the store, get a 1L of pepsi, two packs of Pall Mall, a nice $2.00 lighter and come home.

Once at home i will pick up the cell phone, dial 911 and tell them i am going to wait for a ambulance outside, then sit on the step sipping my pepsi and having the two pack of analogues waiting for a very real heart attack to hit, where i can be a larger drain on the health care system, and when the Government wishes to use me as a statistic and say i am a drain i will have a pre-prepared statment saying that when i was using my e-cig's i showed no signs of the previous three mini heart attacks, and the lymph nodes did not seem so cancerous.

HC is like 12/12/12. If you dwell on the worst you going to miss out on some sweet things, and live in fear for the rest of your life (that is presumed we live till the day after the 13th of December) :D

I said it once and i will say it again: who here aside from myself has sat to wonder if HC wants all this speculation so as the community tears itself apart and they (HC) does not get their hands dirty?

If Revenue Canada could figure out how to tax it they would. I think that because of the online dynamic of this industry it would be a nightmare. It would be similar to selling on eBay - unless declared, how is it tracked? And it won't be declared if pushed underground by the Fed. Its just not a big enough problem yet.

The good news is that BT is coming over to vaping, just look at the purchase of blu cig by Lorillard for $135 million Q1 2012 and N-Joy's Chicago market blitz and their new product launch to the Wall Street analysts in Colorado not in New York in Colorado. N-Joy is doing the classical dance "i'm thinking about going public" with the variation on a theme being "hey BT take me over".

The bad news is that we as a community outside the blu's and red's and N-Joy's will come under significant price pressure on the juice side because the US Fed and Revenue Canada will look to BT to solve their "how do we tax this industry?" problem. How? Easy...BT with all its cash and muscle will take over nic production, government will assist, tax at source and the price will get passed down the chain.

You heard it here first folks on the ECF....That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
