Good day, fine REOkin.

I'd like to know the overall concensus of whether or not getting a bottom-fed Odin is a wise move for me. I have the RM2 and I use it all day every day. I like it alot. I can't help but want to try new items though. I see how many people in here love their Odins. One kick-ayuss guy in particular! I vape the RM2 with a .5ohm parallel coil and it hits great. It's a warm vape; not hot and packs a good throat hit at 12mg, which is important to me. In order to make the Odin work, I'd have to use a hand file to make my Grand an LP Grand. I only have one mod, so sending it in isn't an option. Nor is buying an LP at this moment. I have no power tools anymore except a drill. I'd probably try the hand file to make it LP.

What I'm battling with is: should I leave well enough alone and continue to happily vape away on my RM2 or file the catch cup into an LP and buy the BF Odin?

I know this question is subjective and there are a lot of personal preferences, so I guess all I would like is a quick answer like "Leave well enough alone" or "do the Odin project"

Perhaps the highest number of votes will win.

Thank you all. You guys rock!:vapor:

Leave it alone dude... Sounds like you got a rocking setup already... :)

Or...go for it! I really can't make the decision for you... but seems like if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it! The odin does rock on an LP though @ 0.5ohms... warm, not hot...I don't like throat hit anymore, so I use high VG... Thick, warm vapor satisfies me at 6mg...

I like the Odin and RM2. I would have to recommend staying with the RM2 before taking a file to your REO just to put an Odin on it. If the haircut isn't done correctly you've hosed your mod up for what? Wanting to try a new atomizer. The cost of the Odin is like half the cost of a blem. If it were me, I would save for a new LP mod and then get the Odin. Just to be fair, I wouldn't do the contact upgrade on my own so messing the mod is very risky business to me.

ha, I chopped the top of my reo off as soon as I got it to put a cyclone afc on it, that was before there was an LP reo and I was never sorry that I did it. it's really easy to do and there is almost no chance of screwing it up, if you have a drill I'd suggest getting one of those little pads with abrasive discs from home depot or the like for the bulk of material removal... then finish with the file... you could do it all with the file but will take a bit longer

as far as the odin, my personal opinion is if you're not looking to do dual coils then stay with the tiny chamber rm2... in my opinion the flavor will be less amplified with the larger chamber of the odin with a single coil... if you're not opposed to trying duals then duals in the odin can be as great of a vape as the rm2 but just more... more vapor and more flavor. hard to know if you're going to like it or not unless you try it. that said, many do use a larger chamber atty like this with a single coil and they do like it too so there really is no absolute that applies to all, I can only base my opinions on my own experiences and to me the odin needs duals to match the flavor density of a single in an rm2

Two completely different vape styles that are hard to compare. If you want a warmer vape and a lot more clouds or want to try lung hitting go for the Odin. single coils or mouth hits is not were the Odin shines. What size air hole are you currently running in the RM2?

My AD/ED (all day, every day) vape style is single coil small chamber RBAs. I got the Odin and RM4 to try out with dual coils. They are great for when the mood strikes and I want to run dual coil, sub ohm, lung hitting builds. If I was only going to get one, I prefer the RM4 with it's smaller air chamber.

I went up one drill bit on the RM2.

I am definitely a mouth-to-lung hitter and have not ever tried dual coils, but it interests me.

Darn SuperX with his Odin videos.........tempting me to try.

As of now, I am leaning toward staying put with the RM2.

I thank everyone for taking the time to respond!!

Lol I try it all too and go back to the basics ending up selling the rest.

If you are happy with your setup leave it at that. If you like cloud chasing and quite open draws than you like the odin. Personally just me I take a RM2 over a odin 7 days a week but that just might be me.

just to mention here, if you tighten the airflow down to a tight draw you can get every bit as much flavor from one of these larger dual coil atties. every bit as much, but denser thicker vapor... I don't know why many think that the airflow has to be large and you have to lung hit with these, it just ain't so :)

I agree 100%. I am a mouth to lung and I am running dual coils on Odins and cyclone AFC but they all have the air closed off and I get great flavor. I still use a single coils as my daily driver but mostly because it is more pocket friendly and less likely to leak in my pocket.

I started with an rm2 and loved it. I bought an Odin and I loved it. Both very different for sure, but both excellent vapes. Currently I'm back to my rm2 for the simplicity of it. It can't produce the thick, rich clouds the Odin can, but it still runs like a champ. I'd say get an Odin and use both.
FYI, I also bought a standard grand and I cut it down myself. The rm2 looks a bit weird, but I don't care, it vapes great. I used a 12" miter saw to cut mine down. I decent file will make short work of it, just make sure you keep it square / flat as you file it down. Finish it up with some fine sand paper.

Personally, once I find a good reliable, enjoyable, vape, I don't like to mess with it. I'm scared of leaving the house with a setup that I don't like.

Everyone needs more than one Reo so I'd make an LP my next purchase and use that one to play with different setups. Plus you need one to vape while you build on the other, lol. You'll either find a vape you like better and LP your current Reo, or sell the atty and throw an LP RM2 on it.

Grass isn't always greener on the other side. I'd leave things alone... especially since you don't have the proper tools to grind down the Grand into an LP Grand. Not sure a hand file would work, and even if it does, ...will be be straight and even? To risky if you ask me. Rob makes plenty of toys for dual coiling for the Grand. You could always get a Rm3 thru Rm 5. I've read a lot about the RM3 being a serious contender for duals.

The rm3 is super with duals. My only concern was the slip on cap, but it sits in the well enough that it doesn't come off in my pocket. So here's a plan: every time you think you want an Odin, put $5 in a jar. Try an rm3 and see what you think. Or continue saving up 180 to get a blem LP and an Odin. Profit and blow huge clouds!

mouth to lung is my preference too jif... but I do prefer the duals if i can get a small enough air draw.

If you go with LP you won't be too sorry because you can use the RM2 on it anyway.

Odin is sure to be a fine RDA but since I already had the Origen b/f and a b/f Magma I haven't tried it.

I did go all LP because the 2 above RDA's do have very small settings on the AFC's.
You net a bit more flavor than the RM2.

Factor in; I think approx .5 ohms is about right for the sweet spot wattage (30 to 40w) needed for good response (ymmv) with these dualies.
Batt change frequency is increased, but its worth it imo.
Any lower than .35 ohms and batt times are pretty ridiculous... Vape is surprisingly cool at that range, but I've heard we don't want to push over 60w on the Reo's.
