Yes, it's all about finding the right combo, which works for yourself.

For example, I have both AFC slot wide open on both of my Odins, as with all my other RDAs.

ETA: The elevation of the coil(s) also affects the performance, as well.

You are correct, though in my situation the difference is only the gap between the coil and AFC. Same diameter, angle, and height on both atty's. One whistles and one doesn't...

one thing I will say is that a larger atty like this really does absolutely require dual coils to get the same flavor as a smaller atty with a single coil. flavor will def decline when you use a large chamber atty like this with only a single coil... yes you can run it single coil but you will def suffer a worse vape than a smaller atty in that configuration. if you want to only run a single coil and want the most delicious vape then stick with a small chamber single coil atty. the only reason to run a larger chamber like this is to run duals in my opinion

I have been using my 2 Odins with an unflavored nic base and I may add a tad of fruit flavoring, if so desired.

For full blown flavor, I'm still using my Paradigm Magmas on my other mech mods until my BF Magma arrives.

Hold on.....

Bf magma, you say? From where? I had pondered doing that to mine but I think it might be a bad idea. It will probably get flooded all the time and squonk out of the holes.

the magma is a bit different because the air hole is situated in such a way that it's right below the coil so the airflow in using only half of the atty is going to be very similar in how it would be using duals and the other side will be fairly static and won't hurt flavor much. with a side airflow atty the extra air volume of the chamber will dilute the vapor more and alter the airflow and change the flavor a bit more... flavor will intensify with duals the way flavor intensifies with a single in a tiny chamber...

of course a single will work and of course there will be many who prefer single even in an atty like this, but my observations are that all else being equal, duals in a larger chamber will equal a single in a smaller chamber while a single in a large chamber winds up diluting the vapor and flavor... honestly there are too many variables to say any one thing that will absolutely apply to everyone though and I'm sure some will like a large atty with a single coil too but the real question is why? is it because when they run duals there running a heavier gage wire and running a much hotter vape causing them to not like the duals as much? what if they built the duals with lighter gage wire and ran it with less power per coil, would that wind up bringing flavor back to where they want it to be without winding up with too hot of a vape? there are so many variables from wire diameter to coil diameter to how many wraps... again going to duals requires changing certain things and the results of these changes can affect perception of flavor

That's why I've been hesitant to try mine.

BF magma works great, the only difference is in the magma you will not be submerging the coil itself with every squonk, you will only be submerging the ends of the wicks which will then feed the coil. once you get the hang of not oversquonking enough to flood the airholes it works awesome, each squonk only needs to fill the well then retract

With the wick tails just touching the base of the juice well, you would be quite hard pressed to squonk enough to reach the air inlet holes.

I could definitely flood it. I seem to have incredibly strong fingers/hands. I've broken two ProVari buttons and I overflow the Odin all the time.

This is so true, and I've been thinking recently that there are a few tweaks to the Odin that would make it an even better BF.

As it is right now the Odin Bf feels like a great dripper that has been modified after the fact to incorporate BF. I would love to see an Odin with much shallower drip wells, when we are bottom feeding it's just annoying to have to squonk what feels like 2ml of juice to saturate the wick. I miss being able to flood then drain quickly. Shallower drip wells also means reduced chamber volume.

And to your point above, turbo, I think the Odin is a sub par in the single coil set up for flavor. I think it would be better if the air holes were centered and not offset like they are now, allowing for equal wick lengths on each side. Clearly this atty really shines with duals, there are plenty other small chamber attys out there for single coils. This will also make it better for using RxW.

Does anyone use a coil jig? I am new to making coils and I think I have gotten decent at it, but with my Odin on it way I am thinking about getting a jig like the one below to try and keep the dual coils uniform. It seems now when I make my single coil now on my lp rm2 any little adjustment can change the resistant substantially. I have seen Super X's jig and was leaning towards the smaller one below. Any suggestions/advise would be appreciated.

Sorry won't let me post the link.

I find that any jig with a fixed rod that you wrap wire around produces inferior coils to fixed wire and a turning rod :)

I have the original jig - the darkzero coil jig that spawned all those clones. It was good. But then came the spinning rod and it was game over for any other method :)

I have the spinning rod and i prefer the homemade jig I made.

I use both types. The gizmo coil jig at home and the small one in my go bag for when I travel. The key is wrap with constant pressure on the wire to get a coil wrapped under tension, doing this is much easier with the gizmo. You really have to concentrate to not let tension off when wrapping the back side with the small jig.
