It vapes like a beast. My first coil I tried the nextel and it was too big to sit in the grooves completely flush (the ring that goes around the rebuildable atomizer sliced right through it), but it did fit in the top no problem. I don't know if I'm not used to this resistance wire or the wick that was included but I'm getting an odd soapy taste. I did rinse the Ody before I put everything together (without any soap) so I'm pretty sure it's coming from the consumables.
Tomorrow night I'm going to unbraid some nextel and twist it together to make a thinner nextell wick, I'll also go back to using my kanthal resistance wire that I'm used to using in my iatty. I don't think there's actual soap on anything, I think it's how my juice is tasting with this wick/wire combo.
Assembly was easy, the innards are like the iatty on steroids, everything is either SS or ceramic - it looks pretty indestructible (both the pieces and assembled Ody).
Performance is great so far, very impressed with the Ody. On a side note, one little design element that some may overlook that really speaks volumes about Imeo's attention to detail:
If you've used the iatty and ever adjusted juice on the fly by opening the top cap and fiddling w/ the juice control, you'll know that sometimes you may open it a bit too much and end up pulling the cone right off and making a mess of things. W/ the Ody you adjust the juice control by twisting the mouthpeice. While that alone is ingenious, Imeo also made the dimensions of the mouthpiece in a way that would allow you to open the juice control all the way to the limit, but not far enough for it to become unscrewed from the base (and thus flood the atty).
Just very well though out design.
And did I mention it vapes like a beast?
