Mine came already together except for wick and coil. That little O ring inside the ceramic was not with mine either.I think I read that it is not needed?

The way I see it it is if the O-Ring was intended as part of the design, then it should be part of the unit, if it is not needed then it should not have been designed with the intent to use it..... Just a dollars worth of my free advice.

I'm guessing mine will arrive tomorrow without the ceramic O-Ring as well.

Though as insignificant as it may sound, the Ody should have come with that O-ring in place.

The kicker is Bruce has the missing O-rings for the Ody v2 up on the site for free (I'm guessing for those of us who want all the original pieces that were supposed to come with this unit, but if that's all you need, there's a shipping charge for it. So its either wait until you need to place another order sometime in the future and pray that these O-rings don't default into "Notify Me" mode or pay a shipping fee to have the piece that should have shipped with the unit shipped to you.

I dunno...

I can see how this may be frustrating but mistakes happen and you know as well as I do Bruce and his team go above an beyond the typical reseller... There is a faster cheaper solution at your local harbor freight or other hardware store... I get 700pc kits standard and metric for $7.00 each and I have any o-ring I will ever need for anything GG for about $15.00 out the door.... except for the really tiny ones that go around the center pin but Im sure my local true value store will have the really tiny ones so no worries... Bruce made a mistake it happens hes human its gonna be ok I promise pinky swear and everything...

Can anyone give me some suggestions. I'm having a really hard time tasting my juice and getting a lot of vapor from my odysseus. I must be doing something wrong here. I've made my coils a few different ways and it seems like I'm constantly getting dry hits. At one point I had the mouth piece completely open and still dry hits. I've tried wrapping the coil loosely, I've tried the double wick method, I've tried different gaps on the 510 connector for air flow. I'm basically running out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can measure the resistance of its coil billyapd21?

I don't have it with me right now. I'll try and take a pic and post the coil later. The coil is coming out at 1.7 ohms. The throat hit is great. The taste is muted and the vapor is kind of low. I used a double wick on top. I wrapped the R wire 4 times around the wick.

hi bill:)

1. what resistance on what volts?
2. What wick?
3. How many wicks you made and still have dry hits?
4. I dont make loosely wires around wick, I put it tight. (When I say tight, I dont mean very tight, but as tight as I can do it by keeping wick with only my left hand and making the coil with right hand). I dont use needle
5. I dont use double wick on top

Thanks for the help Imeo. Let me try and answer some of your ?'s.

1. The resistance is 1.7 and I run it anywhere from 4.0-4.3 volts.
2. I'm using the wick that came with it from COV.
3. I'm on my 4th wick. The first three I used a single wick and the 4th I tried the double wick. The first coil I didn't clean the Ody well and it tasted bad. The second time I washed out the Ody really well and even boiled for like 5 mins but still had a metallic taste from the wire. The 3rd wick I preburned the wick and wire which solved the metallic taste but I wasn't really tasting the juice. The 4th wick I tried the double wick coild but after about the 3rd consecutive hit I get a burnt taste. I keep opening the control more and more but the same thing.
4. The first 3 coils I made them tight but only using one hand like you suggested above. The 4th coil I made it a little loose to experiment.
5. Like I stated above my first 3 coils I used a single wick and the 4th coil I tried the double. I think I'm getting a little more vapor with the double wick but not more flavor.

Again, I've only made 4 coils so far so I'm still learning. The Ody with my GGTS is so beutiful and I just want to get it perfect. I just found myself using my carto tank once in a while to taste the juice. I can tell you the nicotine really comes through on the ODY. I can get an extreme nic buzz from it. I can puff on my carto tank all day and not get a nic buzz. I awaiting the penelope in the mail. I'm going to pair that with my provari till the proteus comes out and I have my Ody on my GGTS. Thanks again everyone for the help.

Sounds like you're going from a dry wick to a flooded one. Have you watched igetcha69's video on the Ody? I saturate my wick when putting it together. I leave flood control closed until flavor changes and then open it one turn. I've flooded the coil before, too wet but no gurgling, and it acted like you describe. Lots of throat hit, would make me cough, but little to no vapor or flavor. I think the excess juice just kinda sizzles and comes out more like a mist than a vapor when this is happening. I think you are close to getting it right, just hang in there you'll get it. Also how is the airflow when you hit it? Airy or on the tight side? Mine does a lot better setup with a pretty airy draw. I have the center pin out past the bottom of connector quite a bit (more than Scott in his video).

I hear ya Mr. K ..... my post wasn't really directed towards anyone in particular.... just the situation. But yes you are correct about the O-Rings at a local HW store..... sort of, in my case..... ehhhhhhh ........

My experience a few weeks back was to purchase 2 of every O-Ring I had for my Ody with the expansion kit being as I ordered a replacement set for my Ody but received replacement O-rings for my GGTS instead. No big deal... I'll just go get them @ Home Depot, Sears, or True Value ..... well HD only sells sealed package kits with a few O-Rings and you'll be lucky to get 2 of the rings you need in one pack.... True Value.... the 2 places by me what a joke.

I'll gladly 'splain Lucy....

1st TV place the store manager tells me he's got every O-ring known to man in his store..... I believe he should have said, "I have every O-Ring known to me.... in this store"...... yeah there were some O-rings in there, only not the ones I needed, plus I had to verify what the price was for each ring. They started at like 0.98 cents each for the smallest ring and progressively got more expensive as the diameter grew. I went to find the manager guy to see if the pricing was for a package or was the price only signifying per O-ring.... oh, and he assured me, like a proud, expecting dog catcher.... that those were the prices per O-ring. I told him that his rings were over priced and if he intended on actually selling any he might want to lower the prices by at least 3/4. I then proceeded to split and carry on to Sears HW...

Sears HW was actually almost alright.... they had a good amount of O-rings, if you knew where to look for them. One big tackle box full of O-rings..... with about 10 draws and each draw divided by 6. I did see a sizing chart that indicated standard and metric sizing. In theory this would've been a good get. I thought for sure I was leaving Sears with my Ody replacement rings, 2 sets even and perhaps another set for my GGTS..... wrong!

Apparently during break time, the staff uses the O-Rings and tackle box they come in to play ring toss..... so like each divider was an assortment rather than just one size. The sizing chart wasn't really any help either..... a metal painted template.
After about 20 minutes of sizing each O-ring I picked up to the sizing chart I just got annoyed and left without any rings. There was a high point to this part of my adventure though, the prices were more realistic in Sears HW as compared to TV. Rings were like 0.03 cents, 0.06 cents in Sears as compared to True Ripoff's, I mean Skewd Value's 0.98 cents and climbing higher.

At this point I was willing to try my hand at using some silicon caulking to take the place of these O-rings.... hypothetically speaking.... the thought was appealing....

I have all the sizes STD / Metric ID/OD Gauge / Diameter, Thickness etc.... I even made a chart in braille, just in case. My O-Ring chart is as easy to read as the mid section of an eye chart at DMV or a doctor's office, guess. I gave the sheet to one guy in a hardware store, figuring it would be easier, and told him "I'll just take 2 of everything on that sheet...... like Noah's Ark.... 2 of everything."

The guy, claiming to be a Hall of Fame Hardware veteran, prior to me giving him my sheet, looks at the sheet, looks at me, looks at the chart and asks me what all the numbers mean....... at that point I felt like Mr. Hand right after Jeff Spicoli had a pizza delivered in the middle of history class. I laughed, looked at him and asked, "which numbers are you referring to...?" He asked me what ID and OD meant. I told him that ID stood for Identification and OD stood for OverDose, grabbed my sheet and headed for the exit.

It appears in some places the only degree they require for employment applicants is if they can throw a rock 6 inches or kick a corn can without tripping on it......

Anyway.... that's where my prior post was coming from.... I just didn't want to do that again.

I just want my Rings man..... Ring Dings, Onion Rings.... whatever - I just want my Rings....... (Lord of the Rings) - Great Movie(s)

Peace-
