Hello Imeo, I need some help, Im sure there are other Odysseus experts who might help me out.
I have 2 Issues and I hope I get get some insight.
First, I notice that I have 3 of the center posts that came with Ody V2. On the last order of Ody bits for sale I purchased 4 of the center posts, they did not look like the V2 posts. I had concerns as these were V1 style and was told they worked fine , if not better.

I dont know if its just me, but these V1 are the ones that always seem to come loose when Im taking them out to refill or clean. THe nut comes loose, no matter how tightly I assemble it and then when I try to tighten it up, the wire twists back on and breaks. No big deal, but irritating. The other thing I noticed is that the V1 center post seem to look as if they are plated or just softer, they seem to show wear on the threads unlike the older and well used ones that came with the Ody 2.

I also notice with the V1 posts threads are very rough and the nut does not slip on smoothly which could be the reason its harder for me to get a tight fit.

I really really wish I could get the original V2 Ody pin. Its solid and I never have issues when I use those. Maybe its my hands, but just the fact that all of the 4 of the ones from COV and and E-Smoke guru are stiff.

THe other issue I have is in my time of using Ody, I have ordered about 6 of the Ody o-ring sets and because Im a klutz I have either lost or burned many of my little o-rings that are used at the end of the center post after the nut and the one that goes inside the ceramic under the little nut inside. So not wanting to get more sets, could someone point me in the right direction as to where I can get those o-rings specifically the one that goes on the end of the center post and the one inside the housing under the nut.

I have a tons of 0-rings and only these little ones, ( I know one of the rings is the one that is really a washer that goes between the housing and the nut , its there for size reference ) Help me ID these or if there is any way possible to be able to buy those 2 o-rings separately in maybe a dozen at a time or 6 at a time.

I really want some of the V2 Odysseus posts. I just edited this because I looked under a really good magnifying glass ( lab grade, dang my fingers are in horrible state) I thought they might be brass with plating, it was just oxidized. I cleaned them well and they are shiney as before, just worn more.

I guess it might be just me, maybe with my bad hands the V2 are smoother from use? but I need some of the older V2 pins.

ana, what you call new style looks to me as the V1 pin. if you look you see that the threading starts late on the top of the pin, and this is because V1 had a thicker base of ceramic housing. If you are using the new ceramic housing i suggest you throw in there 2 o-rings (3x2 i think) inside the ceramic before locking the upper nut. Secure it well with pliers and it should be fine.

Thank you Alwani, I will try it that way and see if things stay on more secure. It makes sense as like you noticed the threading is shorter on the V1. I dont know why Imeo stopped making the V2 and only ships out the older V1 center pin.

I used the word new one even though it is the older one, but since they are the ones that are shipped out and carried was not sure to called old style but new:)

Now I definately need more o-rings.

Of the orings I have up there, lets say from left to right, which goes where? As you see I have 3 different sizes all just a bit wider. What size goes inside the ceramic and which goes after the nut?

Here is the list of o-rings for Ody (not including expansion pack
15x1,5 (2) Odysseus base, between refilling cap and body
1,78x1,78 under center pin
9x2 between caps
3x2 under the center post's top nut

the 1.78x1.78 goes between post and housing can also use the plastic ring that is now being sold. 1.8x1.8 will also work for this
3.2 goes at the end of the post under the posative nut these also work well inside the ceramic housing under the nut to help tighten the post tight enough so it doesn't loosen when you remove the housing from the base.

I buy all my o-rings from here
oringsUSA
I've been using the 1.8x1.8 because they don't have 1.78x1.78

thank you so much fright88 . I will try them again. I think I tried looking for those sizes somewhere but they didnt seem to have the size or Im just a spaz at finding things sometimes.

so 3x2 under the center post's top nut at the very bottom?
Which size is the one inside the ceramic cup under that nut?

Their website confused the heck at me untill I figgured it out. They have all the sizes listed first by cross section then by diameter even though it looks the other way around. What I mean is they list all the 1mm cross section o-rings first 2x1 3x1 4x1 ect then the 1.5 so 2x1.5 3x1.5 4x1.5 ect

So when I look for an o-ring lets say a 15x1.5 I scroll down watching the second number (1.5) till I start seeing 1.5's then I look for the first number the 15 in this case.

Other then them being out of stock they have had every o-ring I have ever needed for my GG except maybe the 1.78x1.78 but .02mm is so small of a difference that the 1.8x1.8 works well

well, Im still confused on that site:) not only cant I find the sizes but theres so many different materials. I sent them an email, but now when they ask what material; buna? Im assuming the first number is the with or total inside dimension and the second number is the width of the ring itself? Oh well......

The first number is the total diameter of the oring the second the thickness of the rubber part so a 17x2 would be 17mm across and the rubber is 2mm wide which means the hole should be 13mm (17-4). When I browse their website I brows by metric size as opposed to by material. As for finding a specific size I just use my above method.

Here is an example if I am looking for a 4x1.5mm o ring I select browse by metric then I watch the second number (circled in red) till I find the correct size 1.5. Then I look for the first number 4mm (orange).

As for sizing hopefully the little thing on the side will help the external diameter is 4mm in this example. The width of the rubber is 1.5mm so the center hole would be 1mm (4-3)

Imeo. I know Ithaka is an improved version of Ody but for me, Odysseus will not be beaten by any atomiser out there lol even your own attys :) I'm not saying Ithaka is bad. This is only my own personal taste. Ody has never let me down in any situation, be it flavour, dry hits, set up.....nothing. It has always performed at its best.

Will we be able to pre order parts to make a full ody in the next pre order?

Thanks Imeo

And if you could please make some of the original Odysseus center pin, the straight one with out the indents. See photo above a few posts. I know the one one the left is actually the V1 pin, but its the only one sold now.

I think the one that is available at e-smokeguru is the V2 center pin but the image shows the V1 center pin, why don't you send an email to Vassilis to ask about that?

Umm the origional had the indents. It was there for the o-ring when used in UFS. Not trying to confuse or anything

I know, I keep writing the wrong thing, Its the V2 Ody center pin I like the best. Nothing wrong with the one they sell, its the V1 pin , but its hard for me to get everything tight. Its just me with my bum hands. I just cant seem to get the V1 to stay tight. It always comes loose when taking it off and then the neg wire gets pulled and my twists get loose.

I just dont have the strength without a LOT of work and pain:(

I tried last night, I took the 3 rebuildable units with the V1 pin, ( again, its not the pin, or anything to do with your quality, etc. Its my hands) I put them back together, even tried doubling the oring under the top nut and I just cant get them tight enough. I found someone that sold me 3 of the V2 pins, so I should be fine after I get them.

Also heard from Vassilis and he does indeed have the V2 pins, so I will order some back ups in a week or so.

This post was to just see why COV only carries the V1 center pins. Thanks Imeo for your assistance. Many might wonder why if i have problems with my hands would I use an atomizer with so many parts, Its because I love them so much and though it takes me some time to do it , I think its worth it. I will continue to use the Ody till my hands just cant do it anymore.

Im also amazed when Genisis users complain about how much of a pain it is to twist the N and NR wires, I kinda laugh. I make about 10-12 wires a week to make sure I always have some on hand. Its a bit painful for me , but I get those suckers tightly twisted even if it is a literal pain in my hands.
