I asked the guy that made the ceramics and I finally understand that the soapy taste was not from vaseline. It was from the soapy water they use on machine shops to make the parts. I never had this soapy taste on my Ody but many people had it. So I asked the man that made ceramics and he told me that some of the ceramics didnt washed when they got out from machine. I am really sorry for this guys but the man didnt speak to me sooner.
Makes sense. I work in a machine shop and some of the soaps/detergents we use are very concentrated and very stubborn to completely wash off, so now I understand why it takes so much effort for some of us to get rid of it ;-)

I'm really happen to hear that now we know what caused it for sure. I really thought the taste was coming from the ODY wick and that it disappeared when I switched to nextel. But it sounds like the taste was probably slowly tapering off while using it during my first coil so when I rinsed the ODY and made the second coil with new wick, I couldn't notice it anymore. Now I'm curious to make a new coil with stock wick to see how it will work...

You can buy the origional wire and wick from the vendors or you can go to what I am guessing is the source. Imeo linked it in the origional iAtty thread and I am guessing it is still where he is getting his wire just slightly different guages now. I still use this company's wire and love it.
NR wire is .2mm Nickel wire 50g about 178 meters at 14.30
wires.co.uk : Bare Nickel Wire
Resistance wire is .15mm Nichrome 50 grams about 340 meters for about 12.10

these prices are pounds but you can coop it if you want (I did this with origional iAtty supplies just bought them and split it up between myself and 3 other members.) Or you can buy it and have enough wire for half an eternity.
They also have .132mm Nichrome for R wire if you want to go higher ohms and it is available in as little as 10 meters if you want to try it. This would be between 35 and 36 awg for us US folks.

Maybe we better get rid of mustache? Or better make them shorter?
No, not until now here. (knock on wood)
I do to, but if you leave the top cap just a little loose it doesn't get a hold of your facial hair like it does if the cap is tight.
