Oh i agree.. im running a 2.8 at 5.1volts right now.. freakin awesome this is my second coil.. the wick on the first coil lasted about 4 tanks so its not that bad, but it does deteriorate

Hey JP - just made a diff coil today 2.9 ohm @ 6V - used double Ody wick
4 wraps of 34G 0.16 Kanthal D
No problems here with stock wick - doubled at the coil - excellent taste and doesn't burn up. Lasts longer in small mode than drip mode. I change out when performance wanes.

2-3 wraps should do it, but check with your multimeter for pin point accuracy!

Yep, with the stock materials two full wraps on a double wick gives me 1.5 ohms (give or take a little depending on how tight I wrap)

so the Ody is fed through the two holes in the drip mode base? I thought that might be the case but wasn't sure. So I don't need to open the juice control? How full should I fill the tank? To the bottom of the mouthpiece? I had filled it past that mark and got LOTS of flooding.
Man Im getting that soap again and burnt taste, as you can see I use double stock wick and ohmd it out but when I finished it I must have altered the ohm rating bc it came out to 2ohm on the dot. my multimeter is brand new from home depot (commercial electricMAS830B) need to really blow the doors off this as PoppaD instructed...
like i said all i did was took everything but the ceramic assembly apart, left that all one piece and put it all in a pot of boiling water for like 3 mins.. The soap smell and flavor were gone..
ok thats what i did wrong, i took the ceramic out. tell me this was the boil vigorous or just boiling lightly? much thnx landlord!
problem solved, thank you everyone. what finally worked for me was I used a candle and let it ride for a long burn, then tinker tailor soldier spy it worked! im not gonna lie im nic sick now lol

you are right repent. As for the flooding, maybe you have a faulty UFS base and doesnt seal well the 2 holes of the Ody?
I'd like to buy some spare ceramics and o-ring sets too. Cameron is out of town until the 14th, I think he'll update the shop after his return.
I had a strange experience today. Burn taste that didnt go. I opened the mouthpiece but nothing. I opened it more and I have flooding. I desided to take off the rebuildable part and cut the wick until it came 2-3 mm before it meets the base of the ceramic housing. Not only burn taste was gone but Ody has a better taste than before
