My coil seemed to need a little break in time...about a ml. Now I can't stand any of my other attys! And all the money I have wasted on tank after tank. Beautiful tanks, but a top coil Ce2 just can't come close to my juice flow controlled Ody. God I wish I had discovered this 6 months ago!
Can't wait to get my Pennys sittin on my Provari's. And once I am able to acquire the holy grail TS, my search for the perfect vape will be complete.

You are so right Imeo - people need to read or search. Thats what I did before every receiving my first GG anything. These are advanced user devices. Reading threads in forum and watching youtube videos are a must.

To all that want to know about Odys and GG things - even other mods from other vendors - do this

Amen to that. I watched so many videos on the Ody (and any GG item) that when I got it in the mail I felt I owned one for a few months already lol

If you burn the resistance wire with a lighter (get it to glow red hot), it will taste great right out of the gate. If you use semi soft silver wire, you can anneal it with a lighter the same way. I only buy dead soft 30ga for no resistance wire but before I discovered that, I bought lots of semi soft and its a little stiff to wrap around the bottom post. The flame will soften it right up

Thanks Torque, now that you mention it, I think I read that or maybe saw it in a video somewhere. I've been on such a crash course with these rebuildables, information overload has ensued.

Hello psymbiote and everybody;

In this video at about 3:38 mins he shows you how to burn the ceramic , to burn the soap , nasty taste away from the Odysseus for good . But of course wash it good with soap and water also when it's new or changing e-liquids.

Just something to try, it fixed the problem for many many people. !
His name is Scott and his Youtube name is (igetcha69 ) he's a pretty good guy and does alot of reviews and what not .

REVIEW OF THE ODYSSEUS REPAIRABLE ATOMISER - YouTube

Best Wishes..............

Sigh... I just got to have this rant about my odysseus experience.

I managed to snag one from the ecigz.co.uk, and felt extremely lucky :) Days went and i got my odysseus. When i started to put the thing together the first problem was with the lower connection nut, i had to get a small screwdriver and pick some machining junk from the nut before i could get it to place.
I thought that the ody would come with decent amount on wires (like the old one), but there were only one premade coil, which of course snapped right away to two pieces...Luckily i had some kantal and silver wire..

First setup, 2.3ohms, wicking nicely but the taste was horrible, i couldnt taste the juice at all! Couple of more setups later the bad taste keeps on coming.. Then to the internet to do some reading, i guy said, that i should wash the metal parts and then give it ago. Ok.. did just that, the bad taste was almost gone, but i couldn't taste the juice either..Again, couple of more setups and no succes. At this point i gave up, and sold the ody. The guy that purchased the ody from me gave it a good wash with ultrasonic cleaner, and couldn't be happier with product. Anyway my ody is now gone, and all i got was a bad taste in my mouth :(

Now im thinking shoud i buy a new one, and give it another chance.. But sadly they are out of stock now.

Also, I'm very greatful for having Imeo here !

You know you could buy a brand new Chevy Volt and, I bet you can't talk to the designer creator and ask questions and get advise and answers.

I think having Imeo here is the greatest resorce for, questions , answers , to trouble shoot , warranty issues , anything.
And also to have the owner of Clouds of Vapor, Bruce, the number #1 certified official GG reseller in the U.S.A. at your beckon call. To answer parts , supply question , shipping dates , ect , ect , .....

We actually have it made, to have the GG's designer/owner and the seller at hand to make the new product design transition smooth as possible...........

Just My Thoughts ......... Best Wishes To All ! ! ! ! ! !:)

Ok.... two days in the works and here's what has finally worked for me. I didn't measure my homemade nr-r-nr wire but I'm thinking I had a lil over an inch of kanthal that I wrapped 6-7 times around a double wick (covered a nice surface area of the wick inside the ceramic). I don't think this was the real ticket though. I read in an earlier post about screwing the base all the way onto the provari first then screwing the center pin/ceramic down until I got a connection. The slots on the bottom of the base provide the perfect draw for me as there is practically no space between the base of the ody and top of the provari now. Before doing this, I did have a gap between the ody and provari once it was screwed down, which gave a draw that was too airy for my liking. Like others up here who have this thing vaping like a train, I now feel that I need to down my nic level.

I hope you do because it's the best rebuildable atty available

Ahh but that's not a valid statement anymore, now that the Penelope has arrived :D

Ok, I am just trying to make a cocky controversial statement here :p but on a seriouser note, how would everyone who now has both compare the 2? Are there any strong differences between them?

i think 99.9 % of us feel like that thats why we are here it says rebuilds not for beginners ? well after just a few hours of research i feel like a bleedin expert fired my oddy up first time no drama... i read that spare wire was not included i asked every one what else i might need when it came i was ready just the same with ggts i have been studying it for days and i will be ready only fear i have is not being able to get all parts i want its a bit like building a model from one of those magazines where you get one part a month for 15 years lol not really impatient .... just cant wait

This is exactly how i feel, as creepy as it may seem. if i ever meet some of my favorite reviewers it may feel like meeting an old friend.

When i got my Ody i knew how it all fit togeather, i still suck at coil making though

Another big thankyou to Imeo. My new mouthpiece arrived bright and early yesterday morning. Excellent shipping time from Greece to UK. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with my Ody and been giving it a hammering ever since. My juices are finally tasting good and clean. I doff my cap to you sir, another masterpiece. I'm just sorry that I bought my Provari rather than waiting for Proteus. Dont get me wrong, my set-up is fantastic but only the top half is art. Maybe a future investment if the wife will allow.

Well, the first coil that I made is starting to taste a little janky, so I'm going to attempt a new one with the premade wire that came with it. It didn't help that I started mixing a bunch of flavors in there - tobacco, orange, & cake! I'd like to eventually get a higher resistance, don't know if it'll be possible with the premade, but I'll try.

Had a couple of snafus during the initial build like fraying the wick when I was tightening down the nut & snapping off the wire before I even got it tightened on the bottom pin. Oh yeah, I also have to look to see if I'm missing the same o-ring that everyone else is. Where was that again? In the actual ceramic cup?

Yes, should be inside ceramic under the nut.

Just received my Ody today! :) So far I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I have a few rebuildables, most being genesis atomisers, so building an atomiser was quite easy once I figured out how to assemble it. The ready wire made it especially easy. :) Getting nice amounts of vapour but the taste is quite muted and I can taste the wick a little. I'm only about 15 minutes in and in my experience the flavour takes a little while to kick in. I would keep puffing on it but there's only so much I can take until I get a headache. :)

It took a while for the wick to break in for me too kritikal. Just keep at it. What are you using it on?
