Today has a been a day of interruptions it seems... most of which didn't lead to any work... just questions about work...

First... I thought I'd touch base with a friend in Ohio before it got too late ( he works nights and goes to sleep around 10am, so late for him )... Called him and just started chatting and catching up with things and I get a work phone call... So I told him I'd call back in a bit and then actually did get to schedule work for tomorrow. So called him back after that and low and behold, got another call, this time just a question... Had this happen several times before I finally got caught up with my friend and only one of the interruptions ended up as a scheduled job ( and one maybe job but is a bit on the iffy side for now ). Then had a client come in to pick a computer I'd finished on Friday and he wanted to chit chat about everything ( some even computer related ), got two more calls with basic questions and another from the Ex-GF just wanting to chat...

Finally, around 3:30pm or so... I decide I'm going to the house ( dang, still need to take out the trash and just remembered that ) so I could put on my PikePass so I don't have to stop for the turnpike stops... and also to get to the grass which I hadn't mowed over the last two weekends ( this weekend was all rain, last weekend I was in Texas )...

As I was just about to finish putting on the PikePass sticker, I moved the mirror out of the way and the mirror fell off of the window. Couldn't figure out how to get the metal wedge off of the mirror itself to clean it up before gluing it back on... Went to Autozone to get the repair kit and get help with the wedge... neither of them knew how either. We finally just got a big enough screwdriver and pried it out. Turns out instead of using a grub screw... they used a high tension one inch wide C spring... dang engineers fixing stuff that's not broken just to change it for no good reason.

Got the mirror's wedge cleaned up and the old glue off of the window and the instructions say the glass temp needs to be between 50° and 75° ... so I have to wait until after 10pm for the temp to drop and will likely use the defroster to help cool things off a bit to play it safe.

Then I went to mow the grass... which is still so damp that I'd make about a round or two and the grass would clog the mower up... not to mention needing to do the mower dance... two steps forward and one step back a lot...

So I'm about worn out from all of the back and forth with everything... I may go to bed early again like I did last night... oh dang it... still got to take out the trash and fix the mirror... so much for an early to bed evening ... :D

Took the trash out just after 9pm... outside temp is around 80° so I feel of the windshield and it feels cooler than the air... I said screw it... and go in and get the mirror repair kit. Started up the SUV and turned on the defroster ( with AC )... the bottom of the window started to condense on the outside so I figured it's cool enough. Put on the mirror wedge ( don't know the real name, usually just called it a bug ) and now I'll just wait until morning to actually mount the mirror. That should give everything plenty of time to cure...

... And I can go to bed whenever I feel like it now... :D

Oh, my wife found me a nice table for my "music nook". I'm going to set up the Macbook Pro on the table, and run all the cords underneath. It should make recording easier. Need to get a new stand for the keyboard, and that should be all I need to finish the area.

Night everyone!
