You would think, but look back even a few pages in this thread. Users who tried to set their unit to 40W and complained of burning lips etc. Even in the one review Robert Ellis? Don't remember his name be complained about the preheat causing a hot burning vape in the beginning and wanting to turn it off. Again obviously he had his tp set high and his wattage set low.

I wouldn't use robert ellis as proof of anything, that guy is clearly clueless. Burning lips are not the result of preheat, they can't really be given that it works the way I said. Can you link the post you refer to a few pages back?

Lol, oh no, don't get me wrong. I'm not, I just mean that was one of the things he was yappin about being so "wrong"with the 40.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=14682622

Start there for a couple examples. And I've seen others here and there throughout the forum and others.

Again to me it's just a result in using the chip in a way it wasn't really designed to be used. I'd guess that if I had taken a hit on one of these it probably wouldn't have phased me at all since I generally run around 470 or so anyway. Coming from mostly drippers with high wattage I do tend to prefer a nice warm vape. Warm to me is probably hot compared to someone used to running a kayfun at 10 watts. :) but still, the point is, if you want a 350 degree vape, then set the tp to that temp and you'll have a much more satisfying experience than setting the temp much higher than you want the vape and trying to lower wattage to achieve the temp you want. Heck, I can do that with kanthal...

Yup only in tp mode does it glitch... If it glitches outside tp mode u have real problems!... Throw on a build and pop it up to 450 deg at 40 watts and run it (you may not wanna VAPE on it) for a little bit... It should glitch pretty quickly

Mine glitched with a kanthal build. I know it doesn't read kanthal but tp was set to off as well.

Crazy! After 5 bad chips I've had, you've think you've seen everything... But now 4/5 has been replaced and Working perfectly... Still waiting on my VF to come back but it's taken forever and after 4 emails I haven't gotten a response back!

When I first got it before I turned tp off, I put my gf's mini nautilus on it, it wouldn't fire and gave me a temperature message (don't remember what it said exactly).

Lol VF has been just a huge disappointment overall for me, be it in terms of mod or customer service. Shakes head.

Not sure what you think that example shows. The cause of hot vape is (surprise) high set temp. Preheat has nothing to do with it because it doesn't go above the set temp.

No no, I know that, but what I'm saying is, in his video he was claiming the preheat was crap because it made a big pulse of hot vape when you first fire it. Clearly this was because he was setting the tp too high and the preheat was trying to ramp the temp up to the set tp because he was basically using it incorrectly. If he had set it for the temp he wanted to vape at he wouldn't even had noticed the preheat.

Sorry for another question but just to clarify... U were running the atty with kanthal then removed the kanthal and switched to nickel? That's how I've been doing it...

Yes I was using it with Nichrome but the SS gets torched a bit first. Torched the twisted Ni200 prior to coiling also

Interesting... Torching the ni200... In my opinion, ni200 makes genesis mods easier to use... Less hot spots to worry about and full flavor... The sat22 and Origen genny I'm using ni200 on is outstanding...

I torched it primarily because it's "twisted", to retain it's tightness

I only have 32 and 26 gauge nickel ( for GG stuff) I need to order some 30, I'll twist it for where I want 28

So on the way to work tonight I look down and see the screen flashing. The temp part is missing and up and down buttons do nothing, still fires but will not lock.
Flashing begins when sleeping. Pulled the battery and reinstalled, back to normal ....for now. I jinxed myself.

Sorry bud... Send it for exchange... Could be a loose connection.. So give that a try in the mean time
