Evolv just posted the dna 25 for sale at $40 on their site.
Finally the 25 hit the market....just another TP choice for the user...It also was beta tested (now we can talk about it) and I've been using it non-stop since we started beta (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ew-modding-want-build-dna40.html#post15005990) .... a less costly choice for those who don't need anything higher than 25 watts but want TP....hopefully the data sheet will follow shortly....

I wasn't trying to be a wise-guy. You seem to be in-the-know when it comes to all things Evolv, so when you said I had nothing to worry about, I simply wanted to know what you knew: what your opinion was based on.

Evolv's track record of bringing leading technology and their excellent customer service...and a lot of other things....

hi guys... posted this b4 but I not many replies.. I guess I posted it wrong thread.. so here goes again, hope you guys can comment, maybe enough to get Evolve's attention, many YiHi as well..:)

Hi guys..
Should there be a safety cutoff for the DNA 40 mods when in temp mode? As we all know it uses different wire(ni200) as oppose to khantel.
When there is a mid-reading on the resistance due to loose contacts it usually jumps back the vv mode and continues to fire the coil.. But when we fire ni200 wire in regular mode it goes into high heat, giving off foul vapor and I read somewhere possibly toxic vapor as well.. For a usually lung hitter I can't tell till too late;(
And it doesn't help that some mods the display are at the side or bottom, where u can't read when vaping..
So the question is when in TC mode shouldn't it stops when it detects irregularities in resistance reading, rather than continues in vv mode?

Well, I only had this happening once, not sure why but since I limited the output to 20w, it wasn't that bad.

If you adjust your maximum wattage to be close to the wattage you vape, there shouldn't be any big surprise if the chip jumps out of TP mode.

In all cases, a correctly built atomizer is a must. You can't be sloppy with nickel builds.

I'm not paying more than $100 for a mod with no internal battery. $250 is absurd imo

My cheap hanna clone has treated me well. I just can't justify paying five times the cost of it at an online store.

I'm not bashing anyone else's decisions. That sort of money may be worth it to others. Just not for everyone.

That probably won't happen. The DNA25 is $40 retail, DNA40 is $60 retail. $140-$160 would probably the range for DNA25 devices. If you're handy, you can build one for under $100. Or if you don't want TP, the VS DNA30 is $99 with free shipping.

Hi guys..

Thinkin' your question goes to the design of the technology and way above my pay grade (which is $ 0.00) but passed your question on and should I get a response I'll post....so at least Evolv heard your question...tchavei made some good points.... :) I too set my wattage just a touch above what I vape at....

EDIT with jest of quick response to your question: Reply basically (in a nut-shell) was that it's actually not an altogether bad idea and it was not a problem that was envisioned they may have but it is interesting. So at least you have an answer to your question.... hope this helps...

The beta 25 and the production 25 have no F to C function...not what ya want to hear I know but there ya go....

yes. that was basically what I meant. I can understand that most issues are builder or user related like bad grounding, batteries, bad builds etc. But in my specific case I had a bunch of issues in Celsius mode I didn't have in F mode without even touching the atomizer. I think I even discovered a 'demo' mode because sometimes the atty wouldn't fire but the temperature display would rise and even give temperature warnings but the coil would be stone cold. When changing to F mode, none of this happened ever... just the garbled screen from time to time.

Anyway, I'll know when I get my goldy.

I have the same issue: if I change an atty while in Celsius mode and try to fire it, the VS rDNA 40 goes berserk - tries to fire, but barely reaches 2 watts and then flashes temperature protected. Nevertheless, works perfectly in Fahrenheit mode.

Did you send your device for repairs?
