Never had a problem with preheat. I have had loose post screws, adjustable 510 center pins and posts that give harsh vape.
LOL

...Robert Ellis' latest video completely bashing the dna 40 and Evolv.
In response to Robert Ellis's video angrily bashing Evolv, the DNA40, and the beta testers...
People should know - and contrary to what Robert Ellis said/assumed - when the glitch was discovered (and yes by the beta testers) Evolv worked day and night to find and fix the cause and thought they had with the silicone treatment to the exposed vias. Only after there was a huge end user base did it become apparent that there were screen issues on some boards that weren't corrected by the silicone treatment.
I have no clue as to what the current cause of the issue is or why it randomly presents itself on some boards, but I do know there was a diverse group of beta testers that put the DNA40 through its paces with various nickel coil builds/various attys/various settings and gave feedback to Evolv. FWIW - there were 30 or so beta testers, during beta testing only 2 testers experienced screen issues and I believe a few more had screen issues after beta testing, but the rest of us did not. This is also contrary to what Robert Ellis said/assumed both about the beta testers and also about the frequency of the boards that have a glitch.
Although I do feel that everyone is most certainly entitled to their opinion and entitled to express that opinion, there should be at least some facts to base that opinion on - and that should be especially so with reviewers who have a following of people that take their every word as gospel (well some do anyway - just look at the comments on Robert Ellis's video smdh lol).
Any reputable reviewer should be very cautious about slinging angry rants that are subjectively biased and agenda based. For Robert Ellis to angrily bash Evolv, the DNA40, and the beta testers with derogatory innuendos and statements that are unsupported as well as just plain outright wrong assumptions lends discredit not only to him, but also to his reviews. It also discredits any credentials the reviewer claims to have. When you put yourself in the public eye as reviewers do, you also put yourself under the eye of public scrutiny when your actions/words don't support the facts and the public will hold you accountable.![]()

Me either, but I'm guessing it could happen if I was running say a kayfun that performed well at say 12 watts. If instead of setting the temp at the temp I basically want to vape at, and instead set it as a safety for my wick, so let's say I have it set for 490. The preheat dumps high wattage to the coil to try to get it up to the temp set as wick add possible. So if it throws all 40 watts on their until the temp hits 490 (or the designated preheat time is over) then cuts back to 12 watts I can see it being pretty annoying. But if I want a cooler vape and set the temp then it shouldn't be a problem. I haven't noticed one anyway. Just instant on.Never had a problem with preheat. I have aøways thought that Provari used the DNA chip,Do ProoVape make there own chips? Zen and HOH does use the DNA,no?
Provape makes their own chip. HoH's Zna uses the dna.

So Kiwi did you try any other gage twisted coils? I don't have a 40 yet but have been watching. The way the 28ga / 30ga worked I wondered if you tried 28ga/32ga?
30/30 is all I've tried, but I only have 30 gauge nickel. The 30/30 is relatively robust, coils reasonably well and holds up to wicking. It's particularly well suited for spaced coils - when I wrap a tight coil, then let off tension, it spreads just enough that the wraps aren't touching, and pretty evenly as well.So Kiwi did you try any other gage twisted coils? Nope I haven't! All my tanks were fully loaded up unfortunately. But I'll try it tmrdef wanna do so that I can go back to building more reasonably sized coils.
All my Ni200 have been monstrous haha.
I have Ni200 in 28 and 30ga, and kanthal in 32, 30, 28 and 26. Which combinations would you be interested in?

Well I don't have a DNA40 so doesn't really matter. Just seemed that the 28/30 twisted looked to be giving a good result. So maybe a 28/32 might improve it or some other combination.
My board has been sitting at evolv for a week and a half. No word yet.Update: RMA Status to Hana Modz for screen glitch repair.. Item was delivered to their facility on 11/17. It's expected to arrive at my doorstep on 11/24. So expect a week wait if you want to go through Hana.
