cincinnati, oh
I had a vaper friend at work challenge me, when I told him that I vape 1 ohm~ at 10 watts, while discussing his 150 watt, dual battery, Extra-Mighty Bulk-o-Matic box mod.

He said, "...Yeah but if you could get that same performance and vape experience from 0.3 ohms at 50 watts, why wouldn't you...?"

I just stared at him for a solid three minutes...blinking.

This is what the wattage race has done to people.

If I get the same vape experience from 0.3@50 as I do from my sweetspot of 1.0@10...WHY WOULD I SWITCH?!?!?!?!?!?

By the way, this has nothing to do with the Procyon.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not against the Procyon. I don't want one, based purely on the size factor...but I am FLOORED that Provape released another new device!

I just don't get why someone would tell me to use a mod that goes to higher watts, and modify my build, to get the SAME VAPE EXPERIENCE that I already get on my existing mod and build.

On a Procyon related note:
I'm so excited to see new stuff so soon from Provape, because that means the creative juices are still flowing steadily.
This gives me hope that we will see a Provape atomizer (potential Zen~ co-op), a smaller version of the Radius (same stats as the P3, for 18350 size), a 14XXX series mod (19mm?)...but most importantly...

A PROVAPE SIDE-BY-SIDE!!!
Even if it's just a Provape engineered adapter like this one...

(Don't you laugh Kat & DP!)
Is there a reason that adaptor wouldn't work with a provari, instead of a mech?

My order hasn't shipped yet and was wondering what time to give up :(

Not to be a naysayer, but chances of getting a shipping notification after 5 PM Mothership time, isn't very high. It is now after 5PM Washington time. Maybe tomorrow will be your day.

I don't know what time your day starts at the nuclear reactor but you can contact them via ticket tonight.... Probably won't get an answer until tomorrow but at least your question will be in the queue.

Other than the fact that the diameter of a Provari measures 23mm, and most mechs are 21/22mm...I don't see a reason.

Oh plus the reason that these things don't exist anymore. The guy who made the particular version only made like 20 of them...and the next best thing (by RogueWorkz?) is like $100 and not nearly as streamlined.

It would be amazing if Provape made this adapter, to their quality standards!

Ask Him this. why would I want to go thru wicks faster, Liquid 4x faster and use three sets batteries? Rather than have a wick last for a week+. One battery last a full day, sometimes two, and only use half to 1/4 the funs on liquid as compared to a 50 watter. Not to mention having to carry around the extra liquid, and batteries with me all day and into the evening?

Sounds kinda self explanatory to me. LOL!!! ;) Seems a NO Brainer to Me.:)

thanks for the reply. That carbon powder build up tends to get really bad after a month or two and makes the threading EXTREMELY rough on the 2.5's. Does the carbon buildup occur even mildly on the new Procyon?

Also, when does the Procyon cut off power? When the battery is at 3.2v or higher?
Wierd! Had one of my 2.5's for over three years, and not a Speck of Carbon build up! You do follow (However so loosely) the maintenance procedure. "Don't You"?

For whatever reason, my tracking didn't get into the system, or USPS didn't update it, as my Radius arrived the day before I got shipping notice.:-x The notice gave shipping time, and mail box time, for the day before it was posted.

Apparently Provave has learned from "some" past mistakes, moved to a normal battery gauge (voltage under load) and left the "smart gauge" concept that was smart but difficult to understand, they apparently also returned the blinking button led on low battery (and not only when it's completely drained), but some of the pissing features remains.
I've read the manual twice, and if I'm not wrong, firmware updates on the Procyon gets us back to the times when we had to say goodbye to our devices for two weeks (or more for international customers). Also, the auto-scrolling-uncontrollable-click-as-fast-as-you-can-no-mistakes-allowed menu, a feature that many were praying to be removed, something that was finally solved on the Radius, apparently returned on the Procyon.
Also the long scrolling error messages that leaves you no option to escape from until you read it all, twice, are still there..
But they're constant on the important things - that cigarette money-saver-puff-counter, that no device can be operated without is still there, and also the memory banks, so one could vape at 15 watts with a green led and at 20 watts with a purple one. I can't imagine someone vaping without this.

Too bad.. I wanted the Radius so much, but couldn't accept the battery replacement procedure that no one except Provape had the courage to design, something that looks (at least to me) is there only to show innovation. But I don't see any innovation in that thing, only complication and bad human engineering.
So here comes the Procyon, I finally thought I could get an updated Provari, but again these small annoying features ruins it all...

And it's too bad. I love Provape's quality and most of their designs, I'd love to get a V2.5 device with watts support instead of volts and a limit of let's say 25W... But I guess that again, nothing was learned from the past, and I'll have to compromise with other devices.
