Happy to be... Not Smoking!!!
I don't own one so I can't speak to it. Many who do are pleased though.

One day I might own a Provi that's not a v2x, but that's no certainty. It's unlikely I'll own a Pico.

Nothing against either, just nothing drawing me.

Reasonable opinions, even when they don't align with our own, should never be cause to condemn someone.

Am I out of line?

Just as December 22nd to January 7th do not three weeks make...

And, to then bust chops on a companies warranty service on a device that could have been damaged by the customers actions and not a manufacturing defect. Stinks to me... Call me picky, but I ain't buyin this one.

Pico, the butane lighter of the mod world...
Pretty much, I did buy 5, then 10, then a bunch of the $20 ProVari satin minis. Pico's and ProVari minis coupled with Kayfun Lite+ clones are my version of, here, you can bum a smoke off me, for friends who still smoke and have shown any interest whatsoever in vaping. Keep it for a while. Here's some juice. Try it. Maybe it'll make you happy.

I really haven't used a Pico for longer than a few hours here and there, so I have no idea how well it holds up, but mostly everybody likes 'em. If somebody handed it to me in 2013 I'd be thrilled. In 2016 I didn't hate it. It's not bad for $20, it doesn't claim to be the greatest or best anything, but it doesn't s---k; the tc works, it's an alright mod, that's not significantly worse or subjectively different from $100-$150 DNA133/200 based mods (presupposing you don't need over 75w). Pico did an extremely large collection of things correctly... for the price, they hit it out of the ballpark.

Uhm... where am I? Oh, ya, alcohol followed a tangent. The Radius! It r0x! I have 2! Neither one has ever had smoke and sparks coming out of it! OTOH, I've used both about as long as the Pico, so who knows. I've been over here on the darkside for a while now.

Hi. I've been following some threads in the Provape forum and notice the general suspicion that Provape is going out of business.

I'm really worried since I'm a recent vaper and I don't want to go back to analogs (also I won't get the IQOS for I don't trust Big Tobacco)

Already managed to buy 4 Radii. How many mods you think are advisable to have?

I have only used one on a daily basis and just opened a second to use it with my new Kabuki P3. I will rotate them to see if they work but being in Mexico I think it will be imposible to send them for service :(

Are you experiencing a lot of FAILURES?

I decided to buy Provaris for the reputation and I'm convinced they are solid devices but I've seen some replies regarding that your radii were sent for repairs.

No. Not lots of failures. An occasional few, with most discovered and the bug handled within the first weeks of it's release.

I'd say you did great getting some Radii. I've had and used my 2 Radii quite a bit for well over a year and have had no glitches at all. Of the 1/2 a million or so devices ProVape has sold in the past 6-7 years, less than one percent have ever gone back for repair, which is an excellent record. ProVape has earned their good reputation by having excellent reliable products, not just good customer service.

How long will one last? Unknown -- but 3-5 years is what some computer guru's say. Many of us have had the original ProVari that long and though some start showing signs of age in their performance, they are often still working.

We honestly don't know exactly what ProVape has in their plans. We really only know that the discontinued 2.5 is no longer available and we now see some reduced pricing occurring on their newer devices.

As you probably know, the USA FDA Deeming Regulations are being contested by various groups and means, but at this time it is unknown if any current vaping device or liquid will be able to be produced or sold in the USA after August 2018.

So, USA vapers are enjoying the sales and mourning our potential loss of favorite vendors.

I've found that with a lil bleach and a Brillo, that even a Muddy Girl can be more acceptable...
You may be on to something there. Is shabby chic still *in*? Not that I'd go there either. The only time I tried to be *in* was back in the early '70's when I bought a nehru shirt................about a week after they went *out*.

Ok, the Radius showed up today. No explanation, no paperwork and no charging port cover, awesome! It is working and took just shy of 3 weeks to be repaired and shipped.

3 weeks and 1 missing part, I'm still sorting out how this feels. $40 and no one cares...$200 gets me repaired, the cost of shipping and no explanation regrading the fail...

Would I purchase again? At $20, Hell yes, $200, hmmmmmm....?

I'm being critical, $200 for a mod that failed or $40-$50 for off shore with little to no expectations and no failures to date, interesting.

The most expensive mod I ever purchased failed and was repaired for the cost of shipping. The cheap china mods keep working.

The Radius is a great vape instrument, it really is and I'm happy to own one. Will I purchase again? I don't know, failure at this price is sub par IMHO. My eLeaf Pico continues to keep going and going and going and cost me less than $30!

Please don't get me wrong, I would be totally ...... if I couldn't have gotten my radius repaired. But I think for the price, failure would imply exceptional experience considering the device was <2 months old. At two large, they fell short of my expectations.

Make your comments, am I out of line? I really wanted to love the Provari line.

Provape rarely sends paperwork regarding repairs with the device. They usually e-mail. Respond to your original ticket and ask what was repaired and if you can get an invoice. If it was repaired under warranty, then you might not get an invoice at all. If your talking about instruction manuals, provape went paperless with the radius and just included a note with the web link to it.

You are one of the unlucky 1.5% to get a failure. I have a first batch radius that was in the run that had the bad capacitors and mine hasn't failed. Failures for many reasons do happen even to provape products. The fact that they have kept that 1-1.5% or less record through all their products is pretty damn impressive. Most electronics product manufacturers expect at least a 10% failure rate but provape cringes anytime they might come close to 2%. When a company scraps an entire batch of components because the potential failure rate might go above 1% says a lot about their commitment to quality and durability.

When a trusted brother of the cloud recommended I try a Radius and used "game changer" and "heirloom" to describe the instrument it was an inevitable purchase. I'm glad I did too!

Their electronics are hands down the best vape I have ever experienced. Being designed and made here at home too, is a big part of why I tried them.

Provari has competitive advantage and I hope they maintain it. The story behind their products touched me as their product was develop by people like me for people like me.

Historically, technical advantages have a short life and competition is always in pursuit. When they catch up, and they always do, technology becomes ubiquitous.

Nordstrom gets a premium for products that can be had for less at many retailers. They keep their clientele because they do things that make people want to come back again and again to spend their hard earned dollars.

So, again, I love the product and I hope that they can maintain their advantage.

Also, I well knew the risk when i decided to remove two screws to clean the device.

Unlike the Chinatronics I own, there were no security stickers assuming that we don't possess the motor skills to open a box without destroying the contents.

My last post was my experience, I don't think it was right or wrong, it just was.

Vape on...

I've been away for awhile and saw there was a new update for the Radius. I applied the update and now I'm wondering if it's possible to go back?

The new smaller battery bar makes no sense as it only make the Battery gauge smaller but leaves the rest of the menu the original size and just looks stupid. I also noticed the meter not so precise any longer as I will show 1/4 battery then go dead when with the old gauge it would go to empty/flat before cutting power. Am I missing something? How was this a good update or even necessary?
