I've been away for awhile and saw there was a new update for the Radius. I applied the update and now I'm wondering if it's possible to go back?

The new smaller battery bar makes no sense as it only make the Battery gauge smaller but leaves the rest of the menu the original size and just looks stupid. I also noticed the meter not so precise any longer as I will show 1/4 battery then go dead when with the old gauge it would go to empty/flat before cutting power. Am I missing something? How was this a good update or even necessary?
I own six Radiuses and the battery meter on almost all of them totally sucks compared to every other mod that I own.
Granted, I have not upgraded any firmware but still, to be so erratic out of the box is really lame IMHO.
My Pico mods are dead accurate.

I understand that the battery indicator in the Radius does not show just the charge level of the battery but it makes an estimation of how much energy will be available for your atomizer accordingly to the way the radius is being used at a certain moment. I understand is more like the cars that tell you the mileage you still go with the existing gas in the tank.

My English is not very accurate (as you consider the battery meter!) so I hope I explained myself.

I really would like to know if Provape is going out of business .

My website supplier still has at least 1 Blue Radius but I'm not sure if I can afford to buy it. If the FDA succeeds and transfers the vaping industry to big tobacco I don't want to get back to analogues or use their cigalike devices or the IQOS or whatever rubbish they will sell us.

Provape, Kayfun, Kabuki et al, you have really pampered me!

How much is it?

How much does ProVape charge to ship to you direct?

The Mexican site I go to? $ 4,200 MX Pesos, about 192 UScy and get free shipping.

Can't buy it at Provape because they only accept American cards so I have to wire them the money and my bank will charge a fee. And Provape cannot ship to Mexico neither I won't because vaping is banned in Mexico and customs may not accept the package :(

The one Radius and mini I bought for my father at Provape were sent to my sister's at NY but when her husband brought me the devices he had problems in Customs at the airport so I don't want to bother them.

And I still have to find how to get nic (don't know if Mexican a trustable supplier in Mexico). I've never tried DIY but I realize it will be needed at some point. Because vaping is still approved in Europe (despite the TPD) I guess that maybe we will be able to get European liquids but after the WHO reunion in India I believe that the future of vaping is seriously jeopardized.

I started to buy the Provape mods because of their safety and quality and really like them (all though I don't have experience with other devices but for a penlike and an aspire 30w little device)

Don't know about other safe equipment and with quality so ... maybe dicodes from Europe but can't be bought in Mexico

Understood... Sorry about all of that.

Jim
Yep! Its not great, I've really come a Provari fan in such a short period. I wouldn't be so bothered about this issue if there was the possibility of new companies and products but it seems that the deeming rule forbids that and even in the case that the FDA does not win I guess it has already damaged American companies, to what point... I think you know better.

And my other concern is that if the FDA wins, Mexican authorities will have a tighter watch on vaping so the may start attacking our e-stores (we have kind of a grey market)

Another problem is explaining to my wife the Radii invasion she has witnessed in these few months! Not sure she wants to see another member of the family.

At least she is happy I switched from tobacco to vaping

I really didn't notice a difference in the battery icon size before or after the Radius update. Hell, I still enjoy some early Provari tube mods that have no battery icon at all. None of that ever made me want to go back to my first mod, an Eleaf TC60W ... which is in a box ... in a closet LoL

When the day comes that you can no longer source ProVari's, if you like 'em, I'd strongly suggest taking a look at Dicodes.

If I were to rate ProVape's products on a scale of 1-10, they'd be at 10. Their customer service = same. The only other e-cig company in the world selling regulated mods that I feel the same way about is Dicodes. Brilliant products and truly exceptional customer service on the few occasions I've needed it. The downside from the US is, a service round-trip to ProVape costs $10 postage and takes about a week... the cheapest postage to Germany for warranty service costs $40 and takes 2-3 weeks to show up there, and another 2-3 weeks to return back to you in the states (you have to pay to get it there, Dicodes warranty service covers the cost to send it back to you). If you want it fast, then prices become untenable and DHL wants $180-$200 to ship a pkg to Germany in 2 days. B'okay, $200 for a mod that only cost $300 to begin with, why even do this, I'll just buy another one. OTOH if you have patience and time, it'll work out, and being in Mexico it's probably no better or worse than mailing into the US and getting it back.

Just out of curiosity are there vape shops in Mexico? I visit Cancun for business reasons on a regular basis, and out of the 25-30 times I've gone over the past few years, I've "won" lotto, and had that button at the airport light up and flag me, 3x. Every single time they found my e-cigs (not too hard since I'm not stashing them anywhere), looked at them, had a guy shake his head and tell me they're "not allowed" in Mexico, and then hand them right back to me.

In short: from my understanding vaping is not allowed/banned in Mexico, but there seems to be 0 enforcement/nobody actually cares. But are there physical vape shops present? (I've never found any), or is everything internet sales/mail order only, or that guy, whose house is down that alley, who will sell you stuff behind his back stairs ;-)

Cheers

Hello Schisms,

Thank you. hope my 4 Radii last long but Dicodes sounds great. I hope someone starts selling them here.

Answering your question, I know only 1 vape shop here in Mexico City and it is not visible from the street, it is an office and the only time I went there I felt like doing something "underground". I believe there are a few shops in Guadalajara and Monterrey but no so sure. I know that the 2 web-shops I buy from are in those cities and the one at Monterrey makes my ADV.

The problem in Mexico regarding e-cigs is that the Mexican Law prohibits the trade, sale, distribution, exhibit, promotion or production of any product that, not being a tobacco product, bears any part of a tobacco brand or its design or its "auditory signal" (whatever that means) identifying it with tobacco products. I understand that provision was intended to ban the sale of cigarette-like candy and chocolates.

But according to the COFEPRIS (our FDA third world version) that provision also bans e cigarettes. I guess that those idi/%$ts find that a Radius fitted with a kayfun 5 is identical to a cigarette. It's amazing how the big tobacco money can alter your perception of reality!

According to the law, a Tobacco product is any substance or product prepared in its totality or in any of its parts using as raw material tobacco leafs and intended to be smoked, sucked (as a candy), chewed or snuffed, so my guess is that e-cigs cannot be deemed and regulated as tobacco products.

So vaping is in a grayish area because it is not literally forbidden but the authorities consider it banned. You can vape because the law does not prohibit vaping and therefore I believe that your device cannot be taken at customs unless there is another provision that banns the importation.

You can buy a lot of vaping products in the internet from local vendors. Their websites are "public" but they usually don't show much information about the owners, nor even an address, sometimes a phone number or an email address. I believe that they are not registered nor paying any taxes. There is always a risk in using them but the 2 sites I go to have proven to be trustable and efficient. I usually receive my goods the day after I place the order!

You can even get smoevesto and provari. I confirmed with Blake that and when bought my K5s I checked the serials at the smoevesto site.

Its good having you visiting Cancun, I hope you enjoy it between your business meetings.

Guys, again I apologize for my english, I hoped I explained myself.

Regards,

Regards,

Thank you for taking the time to write all that, you explained yourself very eloquently!

Your grey areas are very interesting and explain why they don't steal my e-cigs in customs but feel compelled to tell me that they're super-bad before giving them back to me ;-) Still, it's better then what the US is moving towards, we have the Black Evil Cloud of DOOM, and everything about to get much greyer.

Cancun is awesome, love it there, especially in the middle of winter where I live!

Cheers

That is very kind of you, Jim! I consider it a privilege to be here with such considerate and helpful people as well. I know that things don't look that great atm, but I am not ruling out an 11th hour 'Hail Mary', via Trump.

I've been noticing quite a lot of flash sales the past few months on Provape's site and was wondering if they were having some issues. Pretty crappy of them to silently go out of business and not give their customers any kind of heads up or warning at all but it looks like they are doing that exactly.

Another theory that's been put forth is that they're getting rid of old inventory and discontinued products to prepare for submitting their products list to the FDA. If the "going out of business" theory is plausible, then so is the theory of preparing to comply. It's a bit pointless to react to a theory that, so far, is only based on rumors and speculation, in my opinion. But then, the internet is full of reactionary people, so I guess it's be expected.

Note: No assertions on you personally were meant when I called out reactionary people.

That's my hope Glen. Streamlining product offerings to just a few models to cut the cost of submitting that list. I'm thinking we will end up with satin p3, satin Procyon and 60w radii in blue , red and white when it's all done. Maybe just the blue radius. Ah well my gold zencoat p3 and Procyon should show up tomorrow [emoji39]. Picked up a dragon 2.5 mini at a local shop and going to see what other 2.5s they have left later today.

Ugh need to go on a tank spree to top them all. Thinking KF3's to adorn the 2.5s and calix p3 for the others.
