I'm sorry, but I simply CAN NOT like this post. I can't imagine life without my furry feline family. No I can't. I'm sorry for your loss, big time.
The last few cats we had were lots and lots and lots of work. The one was diabetic so twice daily shots (among other issues). Another one you would not believe what we had to do for most of her life. She was asthmatic (among countless other things). Constant nurse duty with that cat for the last 12 years of her life. She had an Addisonian episode. According to the vets, there were only eight known cases of a cat having Addison's. She was the 9th and turned into a case study at the infamous NC State Animal Hospital. Then this kitty that I just put down had a tear duct that quit working. She went to an animal eye doctor who has a handful of animal eye clinics along the east coast who said she was only the third cat who had a tear duct stop working. She also had feline herpes which caused all sorts of issues (ear infections, sinus, eyes, etc.). So I end up with all the case studies here that require incredible effort to stay on top of. Trust me, I haven't listed all the issues with these cats. I'm just plain worn down with it all. It is expensive and takes a lot of time and really gets to be overwhelming. I just need a break from all of it.

My sympathy is with you. I have two dogs and, although I sometimes get exasperated with them, I cannot imagine how I would miss these two bums. They bring a smile to my eyes every time I come home. I understand, sometime back I had a dog with cancer and she died with my hands on her, it was (and remains) painful.

I can relate 100%. Kitty could be sound asleep across the room but will wake up and crawl on my lap as soon as I sit down. Sadly, that wont be happening anymore as I had to put her down a week and a half ago (kidney failure). After 25 consecutive years of 1 - 3 cats at any given time, we are now catless. I want to know what it's like not to have to worry about stepping in a barf pile, being yelled at to be fed, administering meds, cleaning up poop and pee, not having an animal laying on me constantly, etc.

I understand. I do. After our 16 year old Siamese cat Caboodle had to be put down after years of fluid exchanges weekly (and in some cases daily) to more $$$ thousands than I can calculate, we waited a few years before we added the next two. You know we lost our beloved Sakai who had been the best family member ever after 17 years last April, we didn't wait as long to add Emi and Eri. I know this is trite and tired, but time heals woulds and I won't be surprised to see you posting a picture of a cute kitten or dog in the not too distant future. No I won't be surprised at all. Pets may exhaust us at times, but they also reward with unconditional love and that is special indeed.

Be all that as it may, I'm sure there's an empty spot in your heart that they used to warm that has grown cold now. I've lost cats, and I empathize with you.

Much to the contrary. Like the Radius, Flo's body is straight up and down. But on the Radius, at least the front looks different from the back

Ah, you're saying that Flo is what I call a carpenter's special! Without a doubt, I prefer curvy women (I'm married to a Latina, after all!), but there's a certain je ne sais quoi about Flo's attitude that makes her appealing.

Although I had to Google je ne sais quoi, I don't disagree with that.

If you are anything like me you will find yourself lost and feel like something is missing in your life and get a new one.
Yeah, been there before. While I miss the little critter, I really, really, really need a break. I will say it is very strange not having an animal in this house. I left the dent in the pillow she was sleeping on when I picked her up for the last time. For some reason I can't get rid of it.

My deepest condolences. I share your sadness. I had to put down my favorite dog last week. He was also 15, but that's about the life span for large dogs.

Putting your pet down is the last act of love you can give them. I'm sorry Oce.

When we left for work in the morning, we'd heat up a towel and put Sakai on it at the base of my pillow on our bed. I can see that spot as soon as I enter our condo. When we would come home in the evening, she would immediately look our way and fuss for us to come say hello. It was truly be best part of my day, over and over again. To this day, when I come home, even with Emi and Eri about, I look at the base of my pillow, maybe out of habit, but part of me still wishes she was there waiting for me to come love on her. We never lose the space in our hearts they occupied. Never. We just segment new spaces in our hearts for those who follow.

My deepest condolences. I share your sadness. I had to put down my favorite dog last week. He was also 15, but that's about the life span for large dogs.

This is way, way off the Radius topic, but consistent with the tone of today, plus it's almost Christmas. The video was made several years ago and sadly the only members of the cast still with me are the puppy, the cat and the goat (although I have another goat, but he refused to be filmed).

Ordinarily cats are pretty much trouble-free, as pets go. You feed them, clean their litter box if they're indoor cats, then they pretty much take care of themselves. Lady luck seems to have frowned on you thus far, but statistically you figure to have much better luck with the next one.
