7 minutes run time increased by 1/3 to account for 1000 aditional mah is a whopping 10.5 minutes.

I'm sorry, but AW batteries are not very good batteries, they are old technology batteries. You need to move up to high drain batteries. Have you ever tried using Samsung 25r's, LG HE2/HE4/HG2, Sony VTC5's? Those batteries last so much longer than AW's. That is the reason why I can run my mod at 60W all day using 1 and a half 18650's. I also run them down to 3.3V. Try any high drain battery, and you will see the difference, night and day compared to AW's.

I agree with your battery assessment (on some really great ones), but weren't AW's the original high drain batteries?

I haven't used them in years, but I do believe that they're still good batteries. Am I mistaken there?

They are good batteries, but not good batteries for these power hungry mods that we have out in the world now.
