I really hope this is not the case. I can honestly say after having USB failures on both of my Vaporsharks that this may be a dealbreaker for me. I want the ability to swap my battery on the fly without the need to remove any screws. I refuse to use USB charging anymore.

But I will wait for confirmation.
Let me dance in the quicksand.

If the Provi Radi, in it's released design, lasts every vaper through an entire day of vaping.

What need would there be to change the battery?

Jim

Even more curious is why anyone who elect to not use something for fear that it might break. If breaking is the worst that can happen, why not use it until it DOES break? Then you're simply back where you would have been anyway, but would have had the convenience for whatever time it lasted.

Most USB ports will hold up if you treat them halfway decently. I'm pretty hard on stuff, but have yet to kill a USB port (on anything). Personally, I like having the option of using either, as I will take advantage of both (at different times and for different reasons).
I would also like to say that...

I went to a local Vape Shop yesterday.

And one of the employees was vaping a USB'd device connected to a USB Power Supply in his pocket.

Stoopid Lookin? Yes
Possible? Yes

OK, you've actually held one. What are the two little cogs on the underside for please :)

The two "cogs" are screws that hold the base on. I'm not sure how much info I'm supposed to give out. I may have already said too much. Of course, if Provape didn't want things to get out, there wouldn't have been Radii available at Vapecon.

I must get this off my chest...

All of the Spoilers on this device are perhaps not 100% correct.

I am bothered by this. I think the manu of any device should have the opportunity to present a product, and then the buyers can make a choice whether to purchase it, or not.

@zapped I apologize for freaking out the other evening... I see now that it may not matter at all, if it were posted. I am sorry. PM Me if you would like a copy of your review, I have it if you would like to repost it. It was brilliant.

I got to see a Radius at Vapercon today. Actually two, a black one and a white one. I really like my 2.5s, but I just might buy one of these at some point. It’s a sexy little beast. It probably won’t be liked by really high wattage vapers and those that use more than one 18650 battery per day, but for me it would work great.

You lucky man!

I agree, it was a great review and far better to have that out there than the negative garbage posted on facebook.

By now I think we all pretty much know what this device is and the majority of the specs, and if they are all correct then thats fine by me, I can't wait to get my hands on one! im still really looking forward to seeing the way they have done the menu on it!

all this talk of usb's, I completly understand it IF you have been a vaporshark owner lol, I also had 2 out of 4 fail on them, and I was bloody careful with it but there is nothing to worry about here, Provape take care making their products, vaporshark seem to do a rush job. The USB is needed even if you do want to just swap your batteries (40 seconds might not be lightening fast but it wont ruin your day!) we get user upgradeable firmware WOOHOO!

I will also add in regards to the vaporshark, I think this is a great shame, if VS had the pride and QC in their products like Provape they would have a pretty unbeatable little package, i love them! I cancelled my VS DNA 200 preorder reading about all its issues but I will still get one once they have ironed them all out.

Thanks for the confirmation. That seems to be what most were guessing.

They really look very nice in the pictures, I'm almost disappointed that is all they do, but in a world of box mods with bland design, they really stand out, as does the Radius as a whole.

From experience with smartphones I have learned to baby USB ports. As I did with both of my Vaporsharks. Even with that they both have failed. So I am USB port shy.

Yes - they are definitely delicate. Sorry to hear about the Vaporsharks. I'm hoping that ProVape might be a bit sturdier, but there's only so much even they can do with USB.

ProVape builds their stuff to Mil Spec?!? Right?!?

I am not worried in the least about a ProVape USB...

I have it too, and yes, it WAS indeed quite brilliant.

You're a good man, Jim, but I'm fairly certain that ProVape fully intended for the information to leak. Big of you to stand up and apologize too.

As you-yourself might say, "LIKE!"
;)

morning ProRadius Peeps ... I think the Hamster wheels are dual purpose ... they also are connected with removing the battery

Are we going to have to clean up hamster poop though? I was kind of glad when they did away with the Iso Baths, and I'd hate to see those be reborn.

Vape360 changing a battery:

Picks up Radius.

Phone rings.

Puts down Radius.

Picks up receiver.

Dialtone.

Puts down receiver.

Picks up Radius.

Removes cap.

Email Alert.

Puts down Radius cap.

Puts down Radius.

Clears Samsung the ProVape Safety Hamster tribute wallpaper.

Reads email from vendor explaining that they just tried to call him and why can't he answer his phone.

Emails vendor back explaining that he is of course always available to take their call.

Roots around for a Sammy (tear) 25R.

Finds 25R.

Picks up Radius.

Phone rings.

Dialtone...

Etc., etc..

I think maybe the :40 to change a battery estimate is going to turn out to be a tad on the conservative side.

This is a composite material...

640579709919024f3a539c44ca5887e0.jpg

It has a comfortable Radius and Cold Weather feel. (Could be held for hours)

This does not...
