RE: USPS ISSUES
I'll play Devil's advocate here.
(Believe me, defending the USPS is not on my agenda, but previous rage episodes over their antics, have forced me to seek an alternative understanding of what they do/how they do it.)
I work for a company (disclosed) that has a massive corporate side, but all anyone sees is the retail side. Most people don't know that they are technically two separate companies, at least on paper.
The retail stores offer sales and technical support.
When people walk into the stores, they see a large number of employees, all wearing the same color/style of shirt. This can be confusing, because about 60% of the employees are tech support, and 40% are sales service. But there's no way to distinguish between the two, unless it's stated.
When customers walk into the stores, they have no idea how the operation works, and often times end up on the opposite side of what they intended to do. This sometimes leads to confusion and frustration.
***My point is:*** Some simple operations can be confusing from the customer stand point, even though they are as easy as "1,2,3" for the employees.
Maybe your package went to Tampa, because it was loaded onto a huge shipment that was labeled "General East Coast". The USPS first needed to get it to the East coast, before it could be sent north, to New York.
To the best of my knowledge, USPS shipments work like Über/Lyft taxis. They'll pick up what they can, when they're near something that needs a pickup.
It's very close to "swarm traffic" (which is the only name I've heard it called, so please feel free to correct me!)...there was a large shipment being gathered, in the area where your package originally departed. That large shipment was heading to the East coast. Granted, it was heading to Florida, but hey, at least your package caught the nearest/first available ride to the East coast. Once it was there, they can break it off into another shipment heading north, and probably make stops along the way. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that this second shipment went past you, and that your package was just a stop along the way.
--------------------
In closing, yes: the USPS sucks donkey dongs. But, there is a method to their madness that, while not blatantly obvious to the consumer, is as efficient as they can make it for themselves.
It's nice to imagine an ordered item being put on a truck, and sent directly to our general location, but that may not always be the easiest way to get it there. Sometimes, our small shipments, are just drops of water in a current in an ocean. They're along for the ride until they get closer to where they're going!
---------------------
Sorry for the rant(?) but you've become a neat part of my morning ritual (reading ECF), and you are obviously a cool person. I just wanted to set your mind at ease about shipments and what-not!

Oh, I definitely agree - it could have been any number of issues (plane needed to refuel, emergency landing, swarm traffic). The Tampa part I understand, but the 30 mile trip that took over 24 hours is what's making me scratch my head. Then again, I once had an Amazon package that was being delivered by UPS sent from their New Jersey warehouse to Baltimore and marked as delivered. Needless to say, Amazon promptly sent a replacement. The could have been a logistical error on Amazon's part, though - wrong tracking number, perhaps? If that's the case, it's not as bad as the Amazon packages I mentioned a couple of days ago that were sent via USPS, went missing, then magically turned up long after the replacements have arrived. Hey, you get what you pay for, right?

Speaking of Amazon and shipping, take a look at this thread (start from the beginning) for some real horror stories involving a carrier that should have had their contract terminated immediately. I can attest to the truth of the statements in this thread, as I've personally been a victim of theirs.

Just had to share this update to underscore the lack of competence on the part of USPS. Below is a screen cap of the tracking info for the package containing the Mark Bugs WAE II that I ordered from ElectronicStix last week. It first went to Tampa, instead of NYC, then took over 24 hours to travel 30 miles between the Eastern Nassau destination facility and my local post office.

Yeah, I know...Christmas, Priority not being guaranteed, etc. Still, why offer a specific service when promises can't be met half the time? Then again, it's USPS. Based on some other experiences I've read, I guess I'm lucky I'm getting the package at all!

The Royal Mail is pretty bad too. My current order from Grant's went to Gatwick first then to Heathrow. Now it's in Chicago. I bet it takes a week to make it to Texas.

Has anyone noticed the Kayfun V4 is no longer listed on ProVape's website? I'm very happy with my Kabukis, but I have thought about buying a real Kayfun and would like to have it with the P3 connector. I know I can probably get that elsewhere. It would be nice to order from one place. I hope this just means they are out-of-stock and will have more in the future.

I guess mail service is the same everywhere!

It's actually still listed, if you follow the link directly to the Kayfun V4 page (Kayfun V4 P3 connector), but comes up as out of stock. Oddly enough, it seems that a lot of vendors are out of KF4 tanks and accessories.

I don't know why the K4 is not listed on PV's website any longer but Svoemesto is supposed to be releasing a new product very soon. I'm kinda surprised they haven't already released it given Xmas is coming up. But maybe you might want to exercise a little patience and see what the new product is all about. Who knows, maybe it's another joint effort with ProVape since they've already built a bridge between one another with the K4/P3. I don't know anything or have any knowledge. I'm just surmising. But I do know there is a new Svoemesto product coming out very soon. That's public information.

I placed an order for a new RTA from the UK and it took 10 days to get to Chicago, but only sat there for 2 days. I'm hoping to get it tomorrow. :w00t:

The clone of it won't be far behind unfortunately.

According to the USPS' infinite wisdom, the shortest route from northern IL to southern IL is via Fargo, ND....
