Good morning all. Before the coffee was done dripping this morning, I topped off my watermelon carto. Unfortunately, I used cinnamon roll as the topper. It took me an hour to figure out why it tasted so weird. The moral of the story? Never fill cartos before coffee.

Thanks, Imagine, for the new contest. I don't have a single new idea to add.

I accidentally mixed watermelon and coconut together once. Very strange combo, lol.

These tests were done with 2 volt "sealed" auto shorties with a volt carto at 3.4ohms. Hope no one minds I don't do videos, trying to save as many cameras as possible from my ugly mug.

How do these batts work? Instead of having a hole in the center of the post they have two smaller holes on the side. This doesn't make them unkillable by any means, but makes them much harder to kill. A slight overfill has no affect on them, but a major one could very easily still get juice into the batt itself.

Voltage output on battery 1 was 3.57v on load, and on the second was 3.61v on load. Both right in the range of fault tolerance, and they maintained this voltage until just before the end of life, last puff recorded as 3.23 on batt 1, and 3.21 on batt 2. Average run time of the batts were 175 minutes on batt 1, and 170 on batt two with chain vaping. This is higher than most gen 2 batts I've tried, but will note this is the highest ohm horizontal coil carto I've seen to date, and that does factor in. Each carto from the pack of blanks ranged between 3.3-3.5ohms, which was why I went with 3.4. Now for the big detail...

Draw- In comparison to an unsealed auto with 4 side intake holes the draw is much tighter. Some will prefer this. This one only has two holes around the collar, but even in comparison with an unsealed auto batt with only 2 holes it's still tighter. It's much more like a manual battery. What you give up in draw you gain in protection of the batt though.

All in all, not a bad addition to the volt line up. Think some will still prefer the draw on the unsealed batts in comparison, but for those using the condom method to refill these batteries are a must.

Nicely done Morandir hon! Thank you for the time and effort you put into this (as always). (((hugs)))

Hey Darkstar I ordered the Cinnamon Red Hot liquid from Vermillion River as a free sample and it was really very good, have you tried it? Can't really go wrong for free - just shipping - and it came in a super neat little glass dropper bottle - check it out!

Free? How do I go about that, as its definitely something I will do then! (sounds like I will really like this juice :D )

Oh, duh! I see it on their site now :D Nevermind... hehehe

You just had an idea for a contest!! Post it on contest thread. Dumbest thing I have done when filling carto or words to that effect.

Oh - That sounds ghastly (cinnamon & watermelon together). I have had some happy accidents that I can't even blame on coffee deprivation. Once I accidently topped off pear with strawberry. Veerrry nice!

I'm coming up empty on the new contest too. :(

I want to thank everyone for the positive waves sent out this week - my husband was just offered a full time position in one of the most prestigious kitchens in our area - coincidence? Maybe, but thanks anyway, guys. Have a Voltastic day!
YAY!!! I wonder if some positive waves would work for my son-in-law ...

Was reading the contest thread and liked the idea of a contest where SI customer service personnel would pick top winner. :thumb: THEN random drawings or whatever for the rest. :)

Impartial opinions and no hurt feelings that way. Better than just random drawing or most likes and would inspire people to do their best, not just the most entries. :p

Earlier SteelJan videos seemed to peg the Volt cartos at around 2.6-ish ohms, while yours measured 3.4 ohms, which seems like a considerable difference (more than the usual +/-10% which I factor into my own crude calculations). Has there been a change in carto technology since SteelJan did her videos? Different test rigs?

I only point this out because in the few posts I've read about low-resistance cartos this kind of difference in ohm ratings seems significant.

As morandir's excellent post mentioned, the entire pack of blank volt carto's he received ran between 3 and 3.5. Perhaps there's some difference between blanks and the prefilled that Steeljan probably used? Or perhaps some slight differences in the precision of the measurements or instrumentation that each person used?

I guess i don't assume that any one person is the authority on everything, and always find new measurements/experiments interesting. thanks for doing this, morandir!
