What is the expected charge time for the 78mm Volt batts? When they are fully discharged (LED blinking)? When they are partially discharged (4-5 hours)? I'm finding that they are taking 1-3 hours longer to charge than some other batts I have, and I'm wondering if it's my equipment. I do have the Volt dongle that I purchased to charge them, and I'm wondering if I'll have to get a Volt wall-wart as well. Or if these are just going to take longer. Great batteries! They never over-heat my e-juice and damage the flavor.

lol... I have the multicolored caps. They're nice and I use them, but prefer the drip tips. I'm just having so much fun with these colored batts after having nothing but black ones.

I'm with you on the drip tips! I resisited for awhile because I felt self-conscious enough toking on this big metal tube without making it any longer, but I got a couple comped to me in a shipment and now I don't want to be without them. Hint, hint, Imagine - I bet Delron doesn't just come in black and white??

Volts have a higher mAh (320) than other regular batts so take longer to charge. Because of being regulated they last about the same time as one that is 250 mAh since they hold at a pretty consistant voltage until almost drained . Go to the smokelessimage site. It will answer most of your questions. Imagine will answer you very well also. :)

You really only need the Volt dongle to charge them the right way.

Here's my :2c:
Get the one that has 2 batts at least. Get the shorty automatic and the 78mm manual. And get a sampler pack of carts with the kit. Then get the 2 sampler packs you didn't get if you can. Believe me, you will be surprised at what you will like and what you won't to begin with. Then it will change the longer you use them! :vapor:

Someone else will have to tell you about the charger packs. I don't have one. :(

This is the kit I'm considering? Which of the charger options are the best? Also if you have any other suggestions feel free to throw them my way.

LOL, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was. After rinsing there was no sign of the vinegar. It really was a nice way to clean out lingering old juice so I could use these for new juice sampling. But I never tried it on a poor performing carto to see if it cleaned the coils or not. Surely someone has tho.
So, my science project sat overnight. I transferred these little coils and their solvents into carto condoms, just so I can see them side by side. I'm going by the color of the liquid to see which one dissolved the crud.
  • the vinegar/baking soda is brownish. Works! Still a little cruddy though. I'm gonna leave it in there a little longer to see how long it takes for the crud to completely go away.
  • no change in the denture tab liquid (still whitish/clear). Coil looks the same.
  • the e-liquid (for PG) is still clear, but there's a very tiny bit of brown swirl when you shake it.
  • when I screw up another carto (or give up on one of these), I'll retry the vodka soak.

Here is a thread you all might like to look at about cleaning carts, attys, etc. Looking forward to the results you all get! :thumb: I use the vodka/sonic cleaner version but I DON'T wait two months to clean them! :D

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...isopropyl-alcohol-clean-their-tank-attys.html
I clean all my cartos the same way as you once or twice a week, and the coils still got cruddy. I've been keeping a lidded jar with vodka by the sink and tossing spent cartos into it, so some get to soak for a few days even. I'm starting to rethink vodka as a solvent now, and maybe replace it with vinegar...dang, all those Seabreezes I coulda had!

Not a bit, no sign of any bad flavor. Other than the new juice I tried (yuck).
That's great news, because I think this is the one I wanna try. I tried cleaning ONE carto last night with Dawn, and, as predicted, Dawn was a pain in the a** to rinse out! I think I held it under the tap for like an hour! Finally got so tired of rinsing that I had to stop, and today it still smells kinda soapy.

Shucks, there were a couple more that I missed:
You can't really just drop these into an ultrasonic cleaner without trying to soften the crud first, even with the right solvent. Even if you can get through the crud with it, the bundle of filaments that the wire is wrapped around is quite delicate. I tried this, and had to stop after a few cycles (I did quite a few), because I was starting to see it fall apart. So with the right solvent, there's only so long you can zap it in there.

You can run vinegar through a carto-cleanonator thingie, but what I've noticed is that it takes awhile for the vinegar to dissolve the crud. Last night, it didn't seem like it was gonna do anything. Today, it was brown with dissolved crud. So, you may get the batting nice and clean, but it probably won't have much effect on the baked-on crud on the coil. Think of how much better your juice would taste if you can clean that stuff out.

This morning it finally dawned on me what an advantage it is to order a pkg. of prefilled cartos to try one of SI's juices. Then if you like it and order a bottle, you have labeled cartos to use. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can label some blanks for the non-SI juices that I use regularly. Matching up colored rubber bands on the bottles with colored drip tips works, but it can sometimes mess up a color scheme with the batts.
I'm saving up for a P-Touch that hooks onto a computer, so I can be cool like Rave! :)

You are making the right decision. V2 is a good product but Volt beats them in every way. Wish I had known about the Volt first also.
Back in May when I first started, all they had was the shorty in black. I think I wanted more variety at the time, because I didn't know what the heck I wanted. But now I know, and I'm glad I'm here! :)

Has anyone else tried layering their juice when they fill cartos? I have had a blast doing that!
One I like is fudge sundae. Start with vanilla, then chocolate and top with 555. (nuts) Then when can taste mostly 555 start over with the flavors again. :vapor:

Strawberry, banana, cappuccino was pretty good. Anyone else have suggestions?

They take 3 hours to charge, but they stay charged forever! The other batts you were using (yeah, we know who from) charge within 40 minutes, but that's about how long they last too (I needed two fully charged batteries during rush hour with those). You don't have to buy the Volt wallwart, so long as you have the Volt dongle. I think, until you get into the Volt passthrough, they're all pretty much the same (with the passthrough, you'll need one that outputs around 1.5A, which I think SI is working on for next month).

This is the kit I started with, and I highly recommend it. You'll get both the USB charger and AC adapter, so you can charge off your computer or a wall outlet, (I prefer the wall outlet myself, just to keep the wear and tear off my puter). The best bonus to this kit is the PCC, though - it makes taking your Volt with you on a day trip/to work/on vacation so much nicer, because you can charge a battery anywhere, anytime, no outlet of any kind needed.

The only thing I've added so far has been a car charger, and that's when I was anticipating going on a weekend camping trip with no electricity - I ended up not going, and I haven't used the car charger yet.

As far as batteries, I ordered 2 78mm autos with mine and don't regret it. I've since ordered a shortie, but just for fun. I haven't tried the manuals, so can't speak to that.

I like the Desert Joe with just a touch of vanilla or Mint (haven't tried SI Mint yet)

I did that! Only because I didn't have a choice - I couldn't order cappucino yet. So a cappucino carto, topped with RY4 - Yum. Same with cherry topped with RY4 - Yum. Can you tell I like the RY4? :D

Now you make me want to try the 555 again - how can we build a complete banana split?

Hmmm...lets see...
banana, strawberry/vanilla/chocolate ice cream, fudge topping, whipped cream, walnut topping, cherry on top...
might be worth a shot, since I haven't liked any of the banana split juices I've tried.
