Passthrough question...
I am loving my passthrough - so much I got a second one, just delivered today. Trouble is, I can't seem to get either one to work anywhere except plugged directly into my pc, which I reallllly don't like doing.
I got a powered USB hub, supposedly 2.0 amp - nada. I tried the car charger from SI -zippo, (I put a ticket in about that last night, but haven't heard back yet.) So, I'm thinking the USB hub could just be underpowered, as I got it cheapy-cheapy on Ebay. I'll use it to charge batts, no problem, and invest in a better/ higher powered one, if it will work. But the car charger should work, no?
I am an electrical ignoramus - any help would be appreciated.
Nope, pretty sure (actually positive) I'm holding the button down long enough. When you first hold down, the case battery charge level shows. Keep holding a little longer and the battery charge level shows. Keep holding longer-yes, about 4-5 seconds-and the battery indicator bars start pulsing as the charge cycle starts. Then I let go. I know the case lights go out shortly, I'm referring to the battery LED going out, which is supposed to indicate the battery is fully charged. I hit the button yet again on my PCC about 30 min ago and the LED is lit on the batt and not the PCC, so I know it's currently charging and has been for 30 min, not 15 sec. The thing is, the case *was* charging OK for about 2-3 weeks, but has gotten steadily worse. That why i was wondering how long the removeable battery inside the case should be good for? The case itself still indicates a full charge, and charges fully in a couple of hours.
I'm really not trying to be difficultit's just the weakest link in the pursuit of vaping perfection is always the power supply (well, and burnt cartos). I'm soooo close and getting frustrated. Not that I'd ever give up my Volt
Oh, and by way of being distracted by replying to this: mint and cappuccino not a good accidental top off combo in my book![]()

I can only speak for myself, wuzz, but I have a fancy label maker at work and a not so fancy one at home, and the only "special feature" I use on either one of them is the 'shift' keyIf someone with one of these labelmakers could give me some feedback I'd appreciate it. I went to WallyWorld yesterday and they had two kinds. One was about $18 and the other was $30 something, both taking the same tape. I was wondering if the typeface is all black or are colors possible if I get the clear tape so I can label my cartos. In other words, can I use the clear on cartos and be able to see it. Also is the bigger one worth the price difference and why? I kind of like the less expensive one for size as well as price but don't want to make a big concession in features over a few bucks.

and you are sure the PCC is charged? does this slow charging happen when the pcc is plugged in?
The PCC is charged. It acts like this while it's plugged in and both the PCC and the battery are charging as well as when the PCC is fully charged and off the cable. And I never use the computer USB, always wall current. I know the charge time for either the PCC or the battery will be extended while the other is also charging, but really, for the battery to not charge overnight seems like a long time.
Still loving the new sealed auto battery. I'm keeping it clean the way I show on my video except there's no center hole. I simply hold a bit of tissue next to the internal side holes for a second or two to make sure no moisture is collecting there.
Hmmmm, interesting problem. The slider pcc's battery should last a good long time, much longer than since August, just two months.
What kind are your slider pcc's? Are they from Smokeless Image or someplace else?
Smokeless Image (of corse!)
Do they have a native Volt connector inside (808 threads) or do they have a 510 connector inside in which case you would be using an adaptor to connect Volt batteries? But I truly doubt you're doing this. In any case, you might want to run a tissue around inside the screw-on contact, to make sure it's good and clean.
But you say the case itself is taking a really long time to charge itself, yes?
No, the case charges surprisingly quickly.
This is the sequence: Battery blinks-uh oh-gotta charge. Screw into PCC. Press button on PCC until battery indicator begins pulsing and LED goes on. Watch for a minute to be sure LED remains on. Go about my business, maybe to sleep. Wake up.*yawn* Check PCC. LED on battery is off. Take fully charged PCC to work. Vape on other Volt battery. Blinky blinky. 'S OK, i have a freshly charged battery. Screw on carto. Vape for half hour. Blinky blinky. &$?!@!!!
Now I'm in the habit of checking when the LED goes off, and it's always showing 2 bar initially.
If I use it i only get a short time on it. So my habit now is check, press button again, check, press button again, and so on, and it takes FOREVER. For a while I could keep ahead of the charger, but now not so much. It's charging, but it's cutting out early, maybe a problem with the circuitry inside? Oh, and it's not heating up or anything. Cool as a cucumber.
You might want to try this. Turn the case over and take out the case's battery, slide off its little cover and pop it out. Make sure the contacts for the pcc battery are clean and the contacts on the battery itself are clean. You might want to try my old electronic's trick of using a pencil eraser on the battery's contacts, shining up the copper really nice, then put it back into the pcc. Give it a try to see if that fixes the problem of the charger charging itself. If it does, all of your problems might now be fixed.
I'm also curious as to how you are charging the pcc? Are you plugging it into your computer's USB, or into a wall USB charger? Or just how? If it's a computer, do you have a pc or a Mac? Laptop or desktop? Just trying to gather a bit more info.
Only ever on a wall current USB adapter, never on the computer.
You could always simply try another pcc battery. If you don't know a lot about selecting a replacement batteries, you might take your pcc to a Radio Shack and ask for help getting the correct replacement.
One last thing I can think of, you don't want to screw cartomizers onto the Volt battery or into the charger too tightly. This can push down the positive contact too far so that it doesn't make good contact in the charger or on a cartomizer anymore.
Oh, and Welcome!!!
AgreedGreat review!
too but...
Thanks! I was hoping the engineer would chime in here!
Another sad note: USPS tracking lied, my order with my green and red sealed batts did not arrive today![]()
You know what A purple batt dose make grape taste better <3
