My Dad's been bugging me about this so I figured I'd come here and ask the experts. Is it possible for someone to vape too much? I mean, will vaping too much actually give you more nicotine than cigarettes? I ask because my Grandma is vaping five 24mg cartos a day. And she's not just vaping half a carto and changing it out. These things are dry as a bone when I refill them. When she reads, she puts her volt to her lips and leaves it there (vaping with every breath) til she's done reading. It's freaky weird. So my Dad is worried that she's getting too much nicotine. I'm the one who orders her juice so if I can, I order a lower dose and just mark it 24mg before I give it to her. But I wasn't able to do that last time (and she ordered a 3 month supply). Can anyone help us out with this?

And by the way, please don't take this as a complaint. I'm so grateful for Volt because it's the only thing that's ever made her quit smoking (and it's helping me too!).

Ditto what the others said - if she's vaping too much, she'll know it. It's not a pleasant feeling. Take it for what it's worth, but I don't think I get as much nicotine with vaping as I did with smoking, or vaping doesn't produce the same reaction in my brain (dopomine levels) so I vape more. There are a lot of other addictive chemicals added to tobacco that you have to get over as well, and I think that withdrawl tended to make me vape more.

I rarely smoked more than a pack a day, but I did that for over 35 years. I started out at 18mg, but it wasn't enough - now I vape 24mg, and have tried going back down to 18mg but my bod is telling me - not yet. I could very easily go through 5 cartos a day if I wasn't topping off. If someone was slipping me 18mg, it would make me vape even more, not less.

I decided not to worry too much about how much I vape. If it's too much I'll know it, and it's keeping me off a very nasty habit I never thought I'd be able to kick. If it takes a long time or I have to vape like a fog machine sometimes, that's okay. :)

My conclusion: The Arduino-powered microcontroller sensor array I just soldered together and deployed is easier to build and repair than a Volt battery.
Also, where can one find a good dual-voltage (120v-240v) soldering iron? All the good ones I've seen are around $100 and either 120v or 220v/240v but not both. To swap them over you have to change out the internal transformer which requires...a soldering iron. So I would need a soldering iron for my soldering iron. Sigh.

Actually, I found out the answer is no. I successfully repaired one of my Volt batteries and although fiddly, it wasn't that hard. The wire had broken loose from the center connector. I used one of my old dental tools to pull out the center connector then with my magnification hood on, I reached inside the hole with my long tweezers and pulled out the broken off yellow wire. Skinned off a tiny bit of insulation and soldered it back onto the center connector and then gently pushed the center connector with its rubber grommet back into the hole. Bingo, works like a charm again.

As for a dual-voltage soldering iron, I'd probably go with a voltage converter instead so I could always use my 120Vac iron all the time.

I want to do the opposite. I want to use 808 bat to 501 carto. It looks like this adapter would work. I was wondering if anyone has had success using one. But it you are able to do the opposite, then it should work.

Yes to both ways. I use 808 to 510 and 510 to 808 adaptors all the time, so that I can use my mods and batteries with 510 connectors and my Volt cartos, or I can use all sorts of 510 cartos and atties on my Volt batteries. I get mine from goodprophets.com or madvapes.com, depending on which vendor I'm already ordering some other stuff from. So far I have not gotten better quality adapters if I pay more, they all look and perform like they are made at the same factory.

As to your earlier question about using different cartomizers, you might want to check out some of my youtube videos. I've reviewed quite a few 808 kits and cartomizers. Even when I could find vendors selling horizontal coil 808 cartomizers, they didn't all perform the same as Volts.... some had nasty glues and filler materials, some were way off in ohmage, some had funky connectors, or the draw too tight or too loose, and one set I got had rusty crud inside the tube. I have been buying from SI for 6 months now and have so far never gotten a single bad cartomizer.

Here, there, everywhere!
Nothing to be sorry for, IMO. Suggestions are just that and the idea is to make things better, which puts us all on the same page. Some ideas work, some might not, but keep them coming, by all means!

No doubt......suggestions can make daily life, work life and the world a better place.

So, Imagine.

Tell me about the XL cartos.
Are they "just thinking" about them or is it "for real and for true" (too much tohope for?)

Will they be unwrapped?

I'm asking because I ordered a bunch of tanks for my favorite flavors and if I don't have to cut them shorter for 808 cartos that would be so awesome!
And because if they're unwrapped, I can use them!

Thanks ~ Princess

Good Sunday morning everyone! waving smiley-1.gif I'm just waiting for the new color batts and hopefully a Christmas sale. My new neighbor tried my Volt and has decided to order - she hasn't decided on colors but knows she likes Cowboy. I wish my juice likes were so easily decided.

Greetings, everyone!

I have a question for Imagine on when more pass-through's will be in stock, again? I tried adding a couple to my cart, yesterday, and was told that they were unavailable. Looking forward to getting a couple, soon! Need to start using my reward points! LOL!

Happy Vaping, all! :vapor:

Sorry for the suggestion.

Don't be sorry at all! I thought it was a good suggestion and that's what we need at this point...people thinking about a viable solution. Really, I'm less concerned having my drivers license number out there than my credit cards but we all put those out there plenty ;) Thanks Imagine
I don't know what the best way to verify age would be but it will become an issue eventually. Especially if the FDA/White House have anything to say about it.

My :2c:

If your mom is getting too much nicotine her body will tell her. You can overdose on nicotine.... however as a smoker we build up a tolerance so we can handle more. If you mom has any of these symptoms she should cut back her mg.

Nausea
Vomiting
........
Stomach pains
Cold sweats
Headache
Dizziness
Hearing or vision problems
Confusion
Chest pain
Uneven or racing heartbeat
Seizures
