Looks awesome, I'm running the coil straight down the middle of the posts which of course means rather long legs and I've actually found it pretty fiddly... I wonder how the angled coil works out in terms of wicking though? One way to find out and will try to give it a go later today!

From how it looks from here, I don't think that height should have caused a problem, I was running mine fairly high on the W and I did consider it might connect with the chimney, but I didnt have resistance issues to suggest it actually did.
Ya, sort of at a loss. I just filled her up again (man this thing holds a lot of juice) so when it's time to recoil I think I'll giver ago again and see if i can tame this B deck. I can't let it whip me. I'm not that easy, most times ;)

Silicone wire. The wire most modders use. You can get it at a hobby store. Probably not hobby lobby though. The strands are so thin.
Any search I've done for silicone wire comes up showing copper wire encased in a sleeve of silicone (i.e. regular old wire). Any more pointers to find this stuff would be a help. Link perhaps (amazon, ebay, wherever)?
Also, in your experience, what's the ideal gauge?

This is what I think is a twisted 28g nickel/28g kanthal 3mm 10 wrap, why because I was bored. All I know I need to be able to replicate it because it works nice! The flask says its .21ohms

Nice - what temp you runnin it at? Any issues with wicking or hitting TP?

So I guess my question to those that have been using their B decks, does it juice up as good as the W deck? My wick in my W stays all nice and juicy and wet and...well, just that.

Superworm Silicone Wire 18 Gauge 10 feet: Ball Bearings | Ceramic Ball Bearings | RC Bearings | Tungsten Carbide | Powerpole Connectors | Silicon Nitride by Acer Racing

Any size will do. You just need several strands.

400deg. 22.5W and I can't hit TP, I run out of breath first.....lol I can get to 350deg and the wick stays wet;)
What ID you running riblet? Looks fairly large?
Rikk I'm finding better wicking performance in the B, but not quite where I want it yet

It's 3MMish

Cloning your build now.

edit: Hey just by the way, how does the twisting increase resistance so much? Won't the current just take the easier path down the ni200 anyway?

That's what I thought, I have no idea...lol try it and tell us what you get. I just chucked them in a drill and and twisted them. 1 wire was 28ga nickel and the other one was kanthal 27-28ga

So their was a B Deck Part 3...

LOL

So about 2 ML into my first B deck Build it sprung a rather large leak out of the air hole. I think I may have over tightened the base onto the tank while I was fitzing with it because then it leaked. Not really sure. When I looked in the base it had lots of juice just sitting in the deck. For gosh sakes, this is KGD so whats up. Not sure but I did a rewick with KGD a little different. BOTH sides of the cut strip had a layer pealed off on either side so you get the real fluffy stuff. I forgot to due one side during the first build. I also used a little more KGD so we shall see. I also fixed that one wrap which overlaps after I took the pict because my eyes are shot. Even with a magnifying glass lamp and strong lighting. Fluffy fluffy on both sides. Fingers crossed and praying to the Vape Gods!

Nice twisted build Riblet!

:)

Thanks! You might get some leakage with that much cotton, my first try I put too much and cotton bled juice down the air tube. Make sure to push it down all round the opening.

Thanks all. I raised the coil up a tad and pushed the KGD down as best I could around the air hole opening. Note in my first pic I did trim the wick after I took the pic so I could gently push it down into the deck. Yea, I'm using like HUGE amounts of cotton. Lets see what happens. /lol

BTW, what are those two little notches at the top/edge of the B deck on either side for???? You can see them in my last pic. Strange?

I have always found, at least with the W deck, the more cotton the better. Nice, full and fluffy but never packed. I'll revisit the B deck soon.

Doesn't it seem when building the B deck and just placing the building rod across the deck that it keeps the coil a lot further away from the air hole than it did in the W deck? I was thinking next time after I build it I'll push the coil closer to the hole.

HA! We know more than those youtube geeks about the B deck since they have never produced a vid on the B deck. /lol

Yep, I actually used about the same amount of cotton I have always always used on the W deck. Relatively speaking given the differences between the W and B monster. It's a bit deceiving because when both sides of your cut strip have the real fluffy fluffy stuff produced by pealing off either side you can almost see through it.

Has anyone placed the coil way way down so it only sits about 2 MM above the air hole and what's the story with those two notches at the top of the side of the base????

Ah......the joy of early adopters. So far so good with the latest build but it's still way early in the tank.
