I'm tempted to call them, and see the prices of this humbug. Then if they ask me if I am ready for the treatment, I will say that I can't afford it because I just found the DNA 200 Rouleaux for $140 online.

I understand addiction is a serious issue, I only have an issue with 12 step AA programs because they are often mandated by US courts, and half of the steps have to do with a God.
12 step programs actually do work, but they require one to actually *want* to be there, or at least recognize the need to be there and willing attendance -- those who go because a court makes them, usually get their sheet signed and run out the door to get a drink, and once their 30 or 90 day mandatory attendance is completed, they are never seen again -- unless they eventually wake up and realize they NEED to be there.
However there's something that's often noted at those meetings: AA can really ruin your drinking.

I think that's probably why courts send people there, just on the off chance that they'll hear something that will stick with them, and ruin their drinking -- or give them an idea of where to go if and when they ever decide to do something about their drinking of their own volition.
But AA makes no claims about any particular god; it only says "A god of our understanding," or more usually, a "higher power." That higher power can be anything, it doesn't have to be a god. Just something bigger and stronger than our own flimsy willpower.
