If you want further validation and have time to do so, sure, I'm sure everyone will appreciate the effort. But based on what I'm hearing from various sources at this point is that it's exactly that... dead... might be revived but chances are extremely small of that happening without some kind of crazy miracle.

I've got my ALL Fingers Crossed.

BTW - Doesn't the Reconsideration period Expire this Friday? So if there is Not another vote, then After Friday it is Truly Dead?

That's pretty much my understanding of it and from what we're hearing from various sources there now is that it's as good as dead with almost no chance of it being revived and struggling on for the next few days.

I think someone from Cali needs to address this editorial.

hxxp://www.sacbee.com/2014/05/22/6423290/editorial-a-perfectly-sensible.html

Again they are blaming the BT for lobby efforts and how vapers want children to be able to buy online

I think people Should choose their words Very Carefully when they Reply to This Type of Editorial Opinion.

And should be Clear that Opposition to AB-1500 was Based on Overly Restrictive Restraints that would have been Put on Adults. And that the Vast Majority are in Favor of Minors NOT having Easy Access to e-Cigarettes.

Stefan, a real pit bull, a keeper, a shining star. Please let me know when she runs for president. Her testimony was awesome and I almost broke my monitor when she said "if they even have a local brick and mortar." All of us really need to chip in and send you two out for a 5 course meal. May not be that intimate since there are a number of others on this and the other CA threads, a couple not even Californians, that deserve to go with you.

I agree.

But I also think that Katya, Barylanna and the Other's in the Small Core Group that Kept the Pressure on, and at times, kept this Thread alive should Receive a Thank You Basket from California e-Cigarette Vendors.

And Good Job to Everyone down to the Person who just made 1 Comment on a FB Page. Everyone who Took an Action deserves to be Thanked.

I hope so too but it's real difficult to get anyone to **do** anything. Especially the B&M landscape is a strange one because one of the things I've noticed is that quite a large percentage of them don't care one bit about any of this. All they care about is selling products for as long as they can and pocket as much they can, knowing full well they're just in it for the short haul. It's not time yet to call these places out but the time is here to start keeping track of which places are like that so we can all avoid wasting any time on convincing them to join the fight.

Frankly, my blunt opinion is that any type of vendor who's in it for the short haul like this... they should just go out of business. Leave more customers and money for those who do contribute in one way or another to making a difference.

I hope you do form a list. Maybe to put it in a positive iight, form a list of vendors that customers can contact for more information or vendors that subscribe to a email newsletter for legislative and CASAA updates or show support for Calif issues, (something like that). IMO people do pay attention to things like that and what business doesn't like a bit of free advertising.

I had a conversation with one vendor who asked me why would they involve customers in these types of issues and if I really thought that customers cared more than businesses since this is their livelihood. I answered YES, I do and that ticks me off when I sense I'm more worried about a company's survival than they are.

Anyway, this is not true for all areas, at least not where I am. I suspect Calif was targeted since it has one of the lowest smoking rates in the nation (Calif, Hawaii, Utah, can't remember the rest) and those states were hit hard for local legislation.

So congrats for beating it back and developing a state-wide effort to prevent this from happening again.

Oops, sorry. At the top of that passed vote for yesterday it says "Set second hearing. Failed passage. Reconsideration granted." So, yay, still not passed.
Yeah, I just called the Appropriations Committee and confirmed that the 17-0 vote was to grant the reconsideration request.

The "Bees" are among our most virulent opponents in the media. Even for McLatchey-owned papers, they stink. I put them right up there with the S. Jersey Times, and the Minneapolis Start-Trib. They are far worse than WaPo, NYT, the Globe, HuffPo and even WebMD (which is basically a BP virtual rag).

Yellow banner needs to be fixed?

Keep it up just in case and it never hurts to keep these jokers on their toes. Let's them know we're made as hell and aren't going to take it anymore.

ETA - If they don't want any more calls they can make a public announcement about it. Until there is an official announcement, I don't trust them, do you?

Receive a thank you basket from California e-cigarette vendors. I really, really like that idea. Their deluxe edition basket. These people saved their businesses and a lot of jobs. There are quite a few people to thank which is why I added “May not be that intimate since there are a number of others on this and the other CA threads, a couple not even Californians, that deserve to go with you.” Barylanna, Katya, Aiokanae1, Sonic, Nate, Lessifer, Uma, Myrany and many more like those still hanging around in here. Rolygate even started a new thread, being immortal has its advantages, to help boost participation and it worked. Really, it’s going to take a semi to deliver all the baskets.
