LOL, I kinda just had to share a laugh,,,,,,,it's kinda sad,,,,,but it was kinda funny too, and I just needed to share it.

DH and I popped over to Epcot last night to enjoy the Food and Wine Festival that's held yearly at Disney,,,,,

Disney prefers (strongly) that Electronic Cigarettes be used only in the smoking section,,,,,so I usually honor that (especially when it's as crowded as the Food and Wine Festival is), although I tend to sit as far to the outside of the smoking section as I can get away with,,,,

so you have to picture this,,,,,,,

there's me, sitting in Italy's smoking section, a glass of sparkling champagne in one hand, my PV in the other,,,,,,,vaping away,,,,,,

And some 80 something year old man riding a scooter rolls past me and lights up a cigarette,,,,,,,,,

he looks over at me and says,,,,,,,,,,I swear,,,,,,,

"those things will kill ---- cough cough cough cough"

"excuse me??"

"They will KILL you, young----cough cough cough cough,,,,,,,those things are worse than real cigarettes! cough cough cough cough"

I thought he was joking,,,,,,,,,,

I laughed.

"I'm not kidding, young lady,,,,,,,those things are poison!" (coughs interspersed through out as he lights yet another cigarette)

"Nope" says, I,,,,,,,,

"Yep" wheezed he,,,,,,,,

DH who's never smoked or vaped a MINUTE in his life, but who is extremely supportive of me doing so just stared at him bug eyed for a second,,,,,*I* have heard stories of these types of people (although I've never encountered one before last night),,,,,,,

HE has not and was pretty shocked, to say the least, poor guy LOL,,,,,,,

then he pipes up,,,,,,,

"some people will say anything to justify their poor choices."

we laughed about it all the way home LOL

Whatever you do, DO NOT engage in an argument with a 80 something old man. You're never going to win. Conversation would go something like this :

Op: Sir, I think it's more likely smoking does more harm as compared to vaping.

Old man: (hack cough cough) Yeah, I that's what you young tube sucking wannabes say. I'm 80 and still here right!?

Op: But sir, it's been shown that smoking, with all the carcinogens and added chemicals and toxic gases produced increases the chances of cancer and other illness.....(interrupted by old man)

Old man: I'm 80 and still kicking, aren't I!?

Op: With all due respect...... (interrupted by old man)

Old man: I'm 80 and still kicking, aren't I!?

Op: If you would just let me explain..... ( interrupted by old man)

Old man: I'm 80 and still kicking, aren't I!?

Op: Sir..... (interrupted by old man)

Old man: I'm 80 and still kicking, aren't I!?
...........
And the cycle continues.

BTW, this imaginary conversation in no way reflects old people in general. (anyway, what is considered old? ) I'm an old man myself, so don't get into an argument with me.

Had a similar conversation with a fellow employee awhile back. All the time he was puffing away saying he needs to quit, but they say those are more dangerous than cigs now, What? Really, VG & PG some food extract is more dangerous than that? Yep, that's what I heard.

So far have converted 3 smokers to vapers at work. So all is not a loss. Even gave one an old protank and 900mha ego bat that I no longer use to help him along .

There's just no getting through to some people (young or old).

I was in the mountains this weekend, with very limited internet access.

My fiancee's nephew (in his early 30's) told me he read an article about a guy in England whose 'internal organs caught on FIRE' because of an electronic cigarette. His "internal organs caught on FIRE!"

It took me a solid 60 seconds, but when I caught my breath between fits of laughter, I asked him what caused the combustion...there had to have been a spark. He didn't know, but that's what he had read.

I advised him to not read "The Onion" any more.

I did a quick search when I returned to civilization, but I couldn't find any such story.

My point is ignorance doesn't discriminate.
