seems odd.... Mr. T saying not be brutal :)

I've turned over a new leaf Dennis and decided to become all sympathetic and kind, try to help noobs out and all that. Spread the gospel of the brotherhood of vaping and the Reoville way.

That lasted as long as it took to type. You bought the atty - it's yours to balls up!
Ahh - that's better.

Ok let's look at this pic and discuss. By the way for next cap put it in the vise like this to drill it. the top of the cap the drip end is much more solid and thus less likely to be squeezed out of shape.

When you drilled it you had the cap mount 90 degrees from what I show and squeezed on the threaded end of the cap. This forced part of it to be skinnier and thus pushed part of it out wider than the top of the cap.

So by mounting it like I show and slowly rotating and re mounting you call apply pressure to all of the sides. As your turn the cap and reapply pressure you will squeeze the wider parts of the lower cap back in to be even with the top of the cap.

When you squeezed in on the bottom. the bottom where you squeezed got skinner than the top, since you did not remove any metal this caused the area that did not get the pressure from the vice to get wider than the top.

the idea is the top did not change shape and is still round, so by pushing the way I have it, you are using the top as a guide to push the lower part back even with it.

By pressing that wider area back even with the top the skinnier area will push out slightly. I'm guessing since this is brass the metal wont have a lot of spring to it. If this was SS you probably have to push the wider a bit further than even wit the top.
