The best pizza I ever had was in Wiesbaden Germany! I'll always remember that. Strange, huh? Every ingredient was perfect.

I lived at the Frankfurt airport for a month. I enjoyed it, clean town (very), good food, beer that knocked me off my feet (literally). I have fond memories of Germany but it has been awhile.

*sigh* Thanks guys. Heh. Overseas MilBrat here. Rhein-Main 84-87 for elementary school age. Grades 3 4 5. Back again during my HS years to Rhein-Main in 91 (Dad went GS after he retired as a CMSgt). Around 94ish we moved to Ramstein when the Hercs went that way. So many fond memories of everything over there. Other than our first year, we always lived off base. My parents wanted me to have the greater cultural experience that way, and I think it worked. I came stateside for school in 95. Went back for Christmas/New Years, left in early Feb 96 and sadly have not been back.

I was there for some of the scarier crap in the mid 80s, but honestly I was so young that I don't think it affected me as much as it might have if I were older. 2+ hours to get to school the morning after Libya (Lakenheath is Bombing Your ***) Don't even know why they opened the school that day. But I was there when Rhein-Main Elementary became Halvorsen and the middle school named for Turner. And oy. I just looked Gail Halvorsen up to make sure I was spelling his name right. He's still alive at 91. (The original Candy Bomber if anyone is wondering). And one of these days I hope to come across the video tape footage of the C-47 being put into place at the Berlin Airlift Memorial (Der Zement pomme Gable :)). Neat side story, during the final stages of restoration, the plane was with my dad's unit, and I got to crawl around on it. Ahh the good ol' days. :)

OK, as a newbie I'm finding this really scary.

One thing about analogs, they have a time limit. I can smoke 1, or if that's not enough, 2, but 3 just never feels right.

But it sounds like vaping can get to be like that experiment with animals and an electrode in the pleasure/reward center (which may be an urban legend) -- nicotine full-time?

Is there something in analogs that says "we're done" that is missing from e-juice? I want to quit tar but not at the expense of going from puffing 20 analogs a day to puffing 16 hours/day.

What AJ said: with a cigarette, you know you're done when it's gone. vaping is trickier, because it lasts longer. But it works both ways- you don't have to vape a whole carto at a time, you can take a drag or three and put it down without feeling like you are wasting anything.

Personally, I like to drip. 3-4 drops on my atty seems to be about right, and when it starts to taste like it needs a few more drops, that's a sign to maybe set it down for a bit.

Or not. Chain vaping won't kill you- smoking will.

I'd much rather have an annoying habit than be dead.

Chain vaping is why I have different strengths of juice. For work I use a 24mg, since I can only go outside and vape on break. (Hospitality industry, doubt I will ever be able to vape on the job). At home when I start chain vaping, I switch down to a 12mg, tho I'm considering lowering that down to 10 here soon. Tho that's not because of too much nic itself, just that one of the flavors I really like, the vendor's standard offerings are 6 10 16 and 24. He offered to make it for me in 12, but I figure why make him go out of his way. Non work days if I'm running errands ... well that's where it gets interesting since I vape in my car, but won't vape in stores and the like. I have a few bottles in 18mg that I've kind of used for that and that seems to work. I have a stick shift car, and manual batteries ... so I can't always puff and drive like I did with cigarettes either.

Now that is one thing I *kind of* miss. Being able to smoke and work with both hands at the same time. Even with I had my 808 auto batteries, that wasn't easy, since they do weigh more ...

I do however put my PV down to type out long posts on ECF. :p I'm a pretty quick touch typist, but that takes both hands.

To return to the OP? Shizzle, does your husband smoke, or ever have smoked? We are assuming that you probably smoked around him before, perhaps not in the kitchen.

It could be two things (or many more, but it is late here, two are easy to come up with):

If he smokes or has quit, he could be jealous. I am surprised that I get grief from both current and former smokers about vaping. Some former smokers seem to wish that I could go through hell. Like they did.
If he never smoked, he could be uncomfortable about This New Thing. If you never smoked in the house, he may be uncomfortable seeing clouds in the house.

See, I was a chain smoker, and I always smoked even more while typing, so I type pretty fast one-handed already. (no pr0n jokes dammmitall, I was a usenet addict, thankyouverymuch) I'm also an artist, and I knit(poorly) and crochet, and was fluent in doing all of those things while smoking, too, but alas, you really cannot vape and knit at the same time, unless you have very strong teeth, I suppose... hhmmm... maybe with a mini auto batt...

Anyway, I vape much more than usual while typing, I don't know why.

I don't do any high nic juice anymore. 12-14 is my usual level, and I'm thinking I might step down to 6-8 soon. I'm pretty sure that at this point, I'm hooked enough on the act, sensations and flavors of vaping that I won't even notice the difference, but even if I could get down to zero nic, I'll probably still chain vape sometimes. I just like to.

Hmmm, usenet has lots of alt. :p The only reason I use the higher stuff during work is because of lack of ability to vape much. Same thing with cigarettes, when I was on a 1hr break, 15m was spent on eating lunch or dinner depending on my shift, then the remaining 45 was in the smoking area where I would have at least 3, if not 4 cigarettes so I could make it until the end of my shift. Now in that 45m I have roughly 3/4ths of an eGo type A tank. And I know they say they're 1ml, but that's only if you fill it to the brim, cap it and then fill the hole in the cap as well. :p

Through out the course of any given day, I go through 4 - 6ml. Most of that is my chain vaping of the 12.

It does, indeed. I am on an alt-free diet now.:)

I'm really not sure how much I'm going through. I use so many different juices throughout the day, so I have no idea how I'd keep track.

The only way I really have any idea is because I use the eGo-C tanks and I can kind of keep track of how many times I fill or switch.

you guessed correctly -- he's jealous...he still smokes a pack a day, but only in the garage or outside (as i used to also). he actually tried vaping before i did, years ago, ordering one of those rip-offs from an infomercial. but he didn't do his homework on the subject first, obviously, as he bought all *zero* nicotine carts, and therefore, of course, he failed miserably.

these days, he *still* refuses to believe that the lack of nicotine had ANYTHING to do with it(!), and is totally disinterested in trying again...although, on rare occasions, he has asked for "a drag" (then takes several drags) off my pv (like the time he was out of smokes at night, during a thunderstorm with power outages, lol)...but it's as if i'm supposed to pretend those rare occasions never happen -- as he still says he thinks i "psyched myself into believing" that vaping works...yeah, so which one of us needs therapy?!

Not everyone vapes continuously. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but I don't think it something every vaper does. Often you will see posts on here from people who feel that their dependence has gone down. You will see them say that they can lay the e-cig down, or leave home and be without it for hours, when a similar situation with analogs would have them climbing the walls.

I seem to be in this category to some extent. I will vape a lot in the morning, before my kids get up. Once they get up, I put the e-cig down and I can go for hours without thinking about it. I can leave home without it and be out for hours without having that craving I would have gotten when I was smoking. So, I don't think it's inevitable that it will become Permanantly attached to your hand.

i agree...and i *was* one of those whose dependence had gone way down, back when i was at 6-12mgs. but i'd sometimes feel dizziness or anxiety, and i knew it had to do with the nicotine level (because i experienced it a LOT when i first started vaping, at 18mgs). so, i gradually reduced my level even further...3mg gives me no such symptoms at all...but i find myself vaping constantly in order to keep my cravings at bay.

Hang in there, Shizzle. It's hard enough to quit smoking in the FIRST PLACE, much less having a significant other that is unsympathetic to vaping, MUCH LESS there still being a smoker in the house.

I never smoked in my house, so I was (and still am) thrilled about being able to vape inside. Hang in there, it sounds like you are doing the right things. Once you get a device and juice combination down, that works for you, it helps a lot.

There is plenty of factual evidence (besides the thousands and thousands of people on ECF), but it sounds like your hubby doesn't want to hear it. I would recommend go easy on trying to convince him. If he doesn't want to hear facts, and chooses to make up things about it, your best bet may to just quietly be a non-smoker. Your example will become proof.

It would be hard for me, because I sure as heck want to talk about it to anyone that will listen.
