OMG! So overwhelming....

Hi..I am new...and so overwhelmed....... I really have to quit smoking...and stumbled upon this forum as I researched...So I will be buying a starter kit as soon as I figure out what is good for me...I don't really know my options yet...I just hope my first purchase is the right one...I do know what I like in an analog...so I just have to figure which EC will do that for me...

Take it easy. It's overwhelming at first, and the basics are all mixed in with the advanced stuff, but the basics are simple.

There are a couple of models that are very popular with newbies and gurus alike, that most people like.

The Kr808D-1, and the Joye 510.

My first e-cig was the Kr808D-1 (Kr8, henceforth), and I love it. Cartomizers are relatively simple to get used to, and it has the best battery life of any e-cig in its size range. I also enjoy the way flavor tastes in cartomizers.

The 510 is a 3-piece system, with an atomizer and a cartridge. Same size range as the Kr8. A little more complex to get used to, but one of the best vapor producers around, and with a forum like this at your disposal, you won't have much trouble getting it worked out.

Either one will cost you about $35 for a starter kit. You'll also want to buy extra juice. And that will get you going for a couple weeks at least.

You should also have spare parts - batteries, juice, atomizers/carts or cartomizers, etc. But you can easily keep it under $100.

I spent $115 total, for a kit, extra battery, extra cartomizers, a charging case, juice, and supplies for making my own DIY juice.

ElectrNicStix is where I got my kit, and they're great. They sell both the Kr8 and the 510.

MyFreedomSmokes has good juice, 510 kits, and DIY supplies - I've bought from them, and they're also awesome.

Main thing to remember is that you don't have to stop all at once, I used my e-cig for a few weeks and after awhile I wasn't using cigs any more. It just happened.

i highly recommend a Joye eGo. i got two full starter kits for 75 bucks at Nicotine Nirvana, free shipping, quick service. quality ecig. i have been vaping happily for almost three weeks. when i am not working, i am vaping constantly and one charge is lasting me about 10 hours.

Welcome to ECF like was mentioned earlier there is a learning curvebut take your time read the links provided and dont worry about starting right away take a few days or a week what ever is comfortable for you. I had accidentally ordered a free trial when I started thank goodness it didnt work when I got it and found this website and a supplier here awesomevapor.com between them and this site I returned the free trial and ordered an 801 from awsomevapor. I then discovered I needed some thing with long battery life and for the last few weeks I have been useing a EGO.

They are probably mentioned over several posts along this forum - and while it may not necessarily help you pick out which e-cig you want - it should give you some ideas on to be sure of what you're getting. If you've already read through it cool i just know i ran over quite a few hiccups along the way. It is still in the mail, however I am extremely confident in my purchase and can't wait to tell people whether or not it kicks my habit.

It is good that you are asking for info on your models but there are also youtube videos galore and plenty of reviews already available.

Don't just take these guys word for it...google it up not that i find these guys to be discredible at all. There's just no better way in my opinion to feel more confident about any online purchase than to do as much research as you can.

Treating the whole new experience as something apart from smoking worked for me in that the expectation to quit immediatly was lifted .I saw it as any new thing ordered off the internet, something to play with for shear joy and entertainment.Enjoy the toys they work well and don't cause cancer like some other toys do from china.

I am a gadget freak...so I will have a blast...and get rid of the nasty ones to boot..just not sure of the mg to get...saw the utubes, and still reading a ton....hope to decide soon... lol.. any info on mg. would be helpful...one thing I do know ..gotta have my menthol...and blueberry sounds interesting...

Just keep your eyes on the forum and not the regular internets. There are a few
companies (cough..esmoke, cough.. Green smoke) that have a large presence on the
web that the smaller companies most of us use simply don't.

DO NOT take any free trials no matter what.

I am fairly new and I bought my kit from vapor4life.com . I had earlier bought from eSmoke but after learning that paid waaaay to much I quickly returned it and got the
V4L kit and havent looked back since.

When it comes to a first pv or pv kit would stay with the cheap and tested . Maybe an ego /riva or if your likings are for a two piece an 808.Order at least 5 flavors of small amounts cause what you think taste good on paper is now vaped without paper(cig paper).If and once you find you like the idea go pycho on ordering flavors and parts like its someone elses credit card bill.I went so overboard the first month ordered like 126 glass bottles to hold my imaginary juice.

I was confused at first. I'll boil all my research down for you.

1. Buy a 510 or EGO kit
2. +5 carts
3. + a sampling of juice (dont just pick tobacco, pick fruity stuff too)

Purchase through a reputable (based on the feedback threads here) single vendor that has all of that (cignot, freedomsmokeusa, nhaler, etc).

Really, the condensed condensed version is that . I went the EGO route since its more like a cigar than cig (was a cigar smoker).

We've all been there and you've come to the right place for answers. There is tons of great info on this site. As far as Mg, someone who smokes light usually goes 11mg, med 18mg and full which is usually 24-36mg. I would recommend getting 2 different Mgs to find out what works for you. If you buy to heavy a mg you can cut it at a later date with lighter mg juice. I just bought a Joye 510 and it's really good. Joye ego also gets good reviews as well as the KRD. Good luck !!

Most seem to like manual, myself included. Reason being that with auto you have to take several small puffs to prime the atty prior to getting a good vape. Manual just hit the button and rip away, no primer puffs needed. Prolly saves the atty and battery life a little as well. The only positive that I can think of to get a auto is you don't feel like hitting a button, but anyone that has had one for a while says it becomes second nature.

I definitely like manual better. I started out with manual from everyone's recommendation, so that's what I'm used to. Accidentally ordered an automatic battery, and there's a cool novelty aspect to it, but I just like the control of a manual.
