Just another FYI on nic frozen, I pulled a bottle from the freezer, in plastic bottle, I didn't know better! That was frozen for 3 years, 30 nic and it is crystal clear, from Wizard. Mixed it down to 7 nic and froze the rest. I will be testing this for juice tomorrow, will let you know how it tastes being in plastic all that time! LOL I was hoping new flavors would have shown up, maybe tomorrow they will.
edit- this nic said expired 2014, so bought in 2013.
98% chance it will be PERFECT.

Why is freezing good (manufacturer didn't mention this - Nude Nicotine)?
Nude makes special containers for long term freezing.
Strange they didn't mention...both heat and light affect nicotine negatively.
It turns yellow/brown and gets a peppery taste

I have a steep box. I was thinking of cleaning the empties in the crockpot.
But yes, I completely understand what you are saying. The reason why I just use a box that I put in a dark cabinet is because I vape alot of custards and I read where custards and creams do not do well in a heat steep. I'm not sure about other flavors though.

Keep your nicotine in plastic bottles if you like.
I don't and won't.
Like Mother Jones or not.
Here's more than I care to read again because I already researched BPAs enough to cast enough reasonable suspicion for me. BPA alternatives might be even worse?
I'll continue to store my nicotine in glass.

Those BPA-free plastics you thought were safe? Think again.

I noticed Stanton Glantz was involved in that debacle.
He should have stayed preoccupied with plastics IMO.

Never heard of BPAs? Let me Google that for you - bpa worse than thought - Google Search
#1 plastic hss NO BPA

too much heat does..but it's good when you mix
as long as you don't let the temp get over 150° F..but only 'cause you might impact the actual flavors in the mix.
nic evaporates at 247°C..much hotter than the crock pot.
VG's is 290 °C so..
PG's is 188.2 °C
.
The crock pot goes up to about 150 °F
which is only 65.5° Celsius...so...
I use heat when I mix, including custards
and NEVER have to steep.

Hazy

I switched over to glass for all of my finished eliquids years ago and seriously... it's a pita, plastic bottles are so much easier to use when filling tanks and to carry around with you versus glass bottles with glass droppers. I think if you are not doing longer term storage of finished eliquids plastics are fine and so much more convenient.
Glass is the way to go if you are freezing nic or longer term storage of eliquids.

I like #1 plastic. It can tolerate low temps without becoming brittle.

Some plastics becomd very brittle and break if you look at it wrong.

Best of all #1 plastic has NO BPA.

I have #1 plastic bottles that has been in the freezer for two years. None of them has ever failed.

Neither does glass.
Glass breaks if you bumped it in the freezer. #1 plastic doesnt.

I have been using #1 plastic for nicotine, my flavors, even Prickly Pear cactus Juice.

It has been frozen for two solid years going on three. Not one fail since using #1 plastic.

It's been a long time since I logged in (and my typing has not improved), but these deeming regs have me hopping mad, and determined to stockpile. I now have several Provaris and two I sticks, as well as a Reo and a couple of pipes. I don't know, unfortunately, how to rebuild coils, and I don't know if it's even possible for Nautilus Minis, which I'm using these days, or for Kabukis. My freezer is about to be graced with some base, and I will learn to DIY. I'm 64; I hope I can get by for as long as I have on this earth. But we should not have to be put into this position.
Just saying... Rebuilding is NOT HARD. I'm sure it can get a lot more complex doing 4x vertical Clapton coil rebuilds or something, but a basic dual- or single-coil 3-post subohm (or not) RDA build is not hard, even for a beginner. Getting a Coil Master might be considered cheating by some, but that gadget helps you make perfect coils fast, every time (for $8), and they might not be available after the freeze (not sure about that - anyone?). I'm a fan, anyway. But srsly - don't be afraid of teh DIY coilz... I'm 50 and an idiot, and if I can make a perfect coil on my first try after watching a YouTube video (as examined by friendly neighborhood Vape shop coil-builder-expert guy, and proven by successfull vaping), then so can you. Go forth and play w/wire!

This is an excellent thread on nic storage

Long Term Nic Storage

"I have unthinned VG-nic in well-sealed glass in the freezer that is virtually unchanged after 6.75 years. In plastic, especially LDPE, it will oxidize, even in the freezer."
I replied to you (or tried to) but it misplaced my reply I think. THANK YOU for teh linq!

Somewhere out there
I am going to put all my Nic in glass, was just waiting for the bottles to show up then wrap in bubble wrap and brown paper bags then plastic bags for long term storage. Then I am set for the long cold dark ages of vaping. So glad I experienced the renaissance of vaping, but so sorry to see the dark ages of vape roll in.
