It's interesting that many of us assume vapers will chose to become coil builders out of necessity when most are not currently doing so and have little idea of what Ohm's law is. We at ECF are typically much more involved and knowledgeable than the mainstream ecig user. Without heads or clearos, many will revert to smoking should availability be interrupted.

I hope they get informed and do stock up over time for that possibility. I agree that a two year window should be adequate for most to wean themselves off vaping or choose to start building.

I've already started upon coil building. Next for me is some basic DIY juice mixing. I plan on attaining a Kanger Dripbox 160 & possibly a Dripbox 60. May get and keep a small stash of 18650s on hand. Also looking at possibly finding a decent & reasonably safe mech mod, a/ a few Velocity V2s, Velocity Minis. TEMCo will continue selling resistance wire and cellucotton rayon will continue being available. The big issue for me will be the nicotine & I may attain some pre-mixed 50/50 unflavored 18mg base to help me start mixing, keep it stocked.

All of the above is tentative & not actual planning. I have no plans, not ever.

That's what i have been doing. Not just the regs taking stuff out, here recently, new products come out so fast that the previous stuff just goes away pretty fast,so when i find something i really like,i stock up on it before it gets bumped for the next best thing.

even though I only use authentic Kayfuns ... I just ordered 20 clones from FT because those are starting to disappear.

the vape industry has gone total sub ohm and I will always be a MTL vaper.

Anyone stockpiling with a view to be supplied for the next 5 to 10 years assumes they have a crystal ball to know exactly how the chips will fall well into the future.

"In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." Benjamin Franklin ;)

But AnthonyB, one doesn't need a crystal ball to see, at a minimum, what's coming. Now that the FDA has officially and legally deemed e-liquid as being a "tobacco product", the -tax- side of that popular quote is, without a doubt, coming. As with all other tobacco products, taxes (direct and indirect) will ultimately represent the vast majority of the total cost paid by consumers. Application fees, licensing fees, permits and all other manufacturing/retail costs associated with these regulations will also be tacked on. Stockpiling for the long haul divorces government(s) from the equation entirely. Dirt cheap insurance.

"The only difference between death and taxes is that death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets." Will Rogers

The thought of having enough nicotine in my freezer to kill a small country just seems drastic and ghastly to me.

The thought of having to pay 10 times more for it (if it even remains legal for public sale) is far more ghastly a thought in my humble opinion. Since, when properly stored, liquid nic has a long shelf life (decades) it seems only prudent to circumvent paying unnecessary taxes and averting the very real possibility that it could become difficult or illegal to obtain. Why even take the risk when there's no down side to stocking up while it's readily available, inexpensive and legal? Where I live face-to-face transaction requirements (no internet purchases) are not a matter of if, but when. I live an hours drive from the nearest real B&M vape shop....

There will be black markets, overseas vendors, modified laws as a result of challenges in the legal system.

I don't know about anyone else but I wont vape any black market juice or nic bought from a flea market or out of some dark alleyway. Mods and attys are a different story. Black market hardware is a good bet but that's assuming you live near a major city where such illegal selling activities might be easily found. Importing from overseas vendors will also be a possibility but I've already experienced what happens when you try to import regulated/restricted items (tobacco products), U.S. customs is actually better at its job than what most people think. Best hope is for overseas manufacturers to market vape products as intended for other purposes i.e. dimmable flashlight with a 510 connector etc.. That's what I figure will happen. :thumb:

I didn't want to like that post. So when would they be able to enforce on anything covered by the new legislation? Immediately?

I don't know....
From reports some CC processing companies are already declining online vaping purchases based on these laws.
Some of the state laws may be different from others and not impact vaping stuff and some will I expect.

Dear Ms. XXXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts regarding the predicate date for vapor products. It is good to hear from you.

On April 19, 2016, the House Appropriations Committee held a mark-up on the FY 2017 Agriculture Appropriations bill. During the mark-up, Representative Tom Cole offered an amendment which would establish a new predicate date for tobacco products. This amendment, with my support, passed 31-19 and was included in the Agriculture Appropriations bill which passed out of the House Appropriations Committee. This bill will now be recommended for a vote in the U.S. House of Representative.

Please rest assured, I will keep your thoughts in mind should this or other related legislation come before me for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Please continue to contact me with your ideas and issues of concern through my website at: U.S. Congressman Tom Graves or by calling one of my three offices located in Dalton, Rome, and Washington, D.C. I also continually update my social media platforms on Twitter: Tom Graves (@RepTomGraves) | Twitter and Facebook: Congressman Tom Graves and encourage you to visit both. If you would like to receive periodic email updates from me, please sign-up to receive my newsletter by visiting this website: Sign up for Email Updates | Congressman Tom Graves.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me on this important matter. Your input helps me to better serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives. If I can be of any further service, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Is this why Georgia is not on the list of states posted?

Sadly they never actually say where they stand or which way their Vote will go.

It is not uncommon for a stance to change within minutes of a vote........as Deals are finalized:ohmy:

Well........31 Did, in committee. The Full house is a whole new arena and I show some reserve in knowing how fast one deal may cause a shift in another. This is why I keep pushing people to JOIN CASAA and other Advocacy Groups as well as making sure they contact their Respective Representatives.

I Fear Maryland is almost a lost cause. :(

Yes I realize this is true. So much bargaining goes on as in 'help me get this bill passed and I will help you on your bill'
The only one I have heard speak passionately against it is Tom Cole

Could we see a link? This list is meaningless without more information. I live in AZ. The only thing "anti-tobacco" about this state is the higher than average taxes, (but you can buy it on the reservation tax free). Our state politicians are much more pro-liberty than most, and hostile to Fed Gubmint interference, (e.g. any future Fed "gun control" laws will not be recognized or enforced here).

That was a list of states banning or restricting online sales of tobacco products. Just online.

Ah, ok. I understand the concern with with FDA now "deeming" that e-cigs are something that they're not. Of course, if they regs stand in their entirety, I'll be going down Mexico way for things I need anyway. Or maybe vape shops could open on the reservation. I'll have to research the details of exactly how free that territory is from Fed interference.
