The 18650 cells in laptop batteries are generally NOT high-drain. That makes them dangerous to use in moderate or high powered devices. I would suggest cordless power tool battery packs as a much safer choice; they will have high-drain cell in them.
soooo,, i need to keep buying my husband battery packs,, he will think its a gift for his tools,, while i see them as part of prepping. i can just see his face waking up one weekend and i have dismantled the batteries lol..........which one of you is going to bail me out of the nuthouse after he has me locked up :) ?

For O-ring storage, just Google "o-rings long term storage".
I came a cross a few posts. Basically it depends on the materials they are made from.
Now if only O-ring kits detailed what the O-rings were made of, we would be in good shape.
Below is copied from an O-Ring dealer...
Recommended Shelf life

  • 5 years: Polyurethane (millable), SBR, Natural Rubber, Polybutadine, Polyisoprene
  • 15 years: Nitrile, Neoprene, HNBR, Polyacrylate, Butyl
  • Unlimited: Ethylene Propylene, Fluorocarbon, Perfluorinated Elastomer, Silicone, Tetrafluoroethylene Propylene (Aflas®), Fluorosilicone.

I bought a Jansport backpack around ten years ago that had some high tech silicone 'waffle' padding in the shoulder areas.
I remember that they had a store display where you could see and feel some of the silicone waffle - just felt like normal silicone rubber as used in cheap phone skins and o rings.
One day I noticed that there was sticky stuff all over the shoulders of my shirt.
Turns out the silicone had turned into a thick syrupy liquid and oozed out through the weave of the fabric onto my shirt.

I don't know if it was heat, UV light (the straps had transparent 'windows' so you could see the waffle inside), or simply mechanical pressure that had caused them to liquify, but it happened.

Considering Jansport has a lifetime warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, I'd say that they were expecting the waffles to last pretty much indefinitely.

That reminds me - I still have that backpack somewhere. I'll have to dig it out and see if I can get a replacement...

Without changes to the laws.
My prediction is that the influx of new vapers will drop dramatically during the next 3 years and all vapers left will be pretty much the diehards like on here.
20 years from now vaping will pretty much be gone.
This is all a USA perspective.

smoking will also be in the under 1% range.
I disagree, prohibition will actually make it more attractive. Prohibition didn't work for booze, it's a failure for pot.

Nope, it'll backfire in their faces even more so since it's not only much safer than smoking but actually enjoyable.

in 45 years when a strange population of over 115 year olds is researched:: ""they lived much longer than even 'never smoked' just because of vaping."""..........

Some of my Kanthal came in so I wrapped up a 1.4ohm coil on a V1 VVTF RBA and installed it in a Nautilus Mini. Not bad. I could live with this.

I have over 10 STM/TTM's. Love them. I really don't care if there is not glass replacement - I've never broken the glass on any of my tanks - none.

I must have the wicking just right as I've never flooded a TTM while top filling. Easy mess free.

My next experiment is to see how well the FT Atlantis clones fit on the iStick 20 clones I bought for friends. Sadly the TTM's have a gap between the bottom of the tank and the mod. They all might end up getting stuck with K1's!! (I have a bunch of clones of them as well. I think they are a 'toodle puffers' dream. Not so easy to fill and while only factory coils are offered (they last weeks on unflavored) they are fairly easy to rebuild.

I prefer the bell cap for my son,so i don't have to keep replacing glass haha.I like the glass on mine though,so i put 20 stm glass in my cart at fasttech.
I'm wondering now though,if there is a bell cap that will fit these, since i can't find them for the silverplay nano either.I may have to add a stm bell cap and see if it fits,i tried one for a kayfun, and it didn't work.
The stm bell cap wont work at all. The chimney screws into the bell cap lime the Goblin Mini But that bell cap is too short.

    It was poor quality Sillicone.

I have one sillicone wrist band holding carbon felt on my camping cook pot. Its been there for years, and my alcohol stove subjects that Sillicone to temps 700+ degrees Fahrenheit on a daily basis.

I would suggest sonething other than heat like UV radiation, of sonething else.

I got SKU 4139704 bellcaps for my STM's work nice.

Trying to find the good in these Regs.....
Maybe the quality will be much greater than anything we are use to seeing.
If a company wants to release a new device, they will need about 3 months of research, spend at least 300K testing the device before submitting it for approval. This process sounds like it should eliminate flawed devices or devices that fail after a few weeks or months of use.
I'm sure cost will go up, but if I had the money back from everything that has failed.....you see the point.
    Thoughts?

I can easily the the death of stainless steel coils due to the fact of possible hexavalent chromium exposure.
Some places that a visit and have to weld s.s. require me to wear fresh air hoods. I can easily see the FDA rejecting any S.S. coils for the very same reason. It's also one reason I've never tried them.

    Well... There's a history...

    A long one...

That makes it quite clear none of this is a possible reality.

I'm not an :censored:. I know that many here on ECF are on very strict budgets, myself included. I have been saving for a long time. I also managed to get a $500 credit limit from Paypal. Waiting to see what kind of sales come July 4th is excruciating, when I could go buy some decent food(vs more rice or more peanut butter and bread). Oh the heck with it!!! Buy another loaf of bread! :grr:

I managed to save to $1,000+. I'm all in on the sales come July 4th. I just pray to God they happen with the retailers/manufacturers that I typically buy from.

I've not found any credible data to support formation of Cr6+ at the temperatures vaporizers use.
Just like the hype with toxins released with juice and cotton at temperatures so high that no one vapes at. Heat anything to it's melting point it'll release toxic gas.

If the coils burns to an open state, something would have to be released.
I guess we will find out for sure in a few years anyhow.

Well for example the melting point of 316 SS is 1400 C/2550 F.
That temp might produce a bit of Cr6+.

Regardless, vape what you are comfortable with and enjoy. ;)

I have 100 feet Kanthal, 3 attys, a few vape tools and a supply of Rayon in my bug out bag.

Have considered putting 200 feet Kanthal in a buried caches but concerned about rusty Kanthal.

I bought 500ft of 22g plus some for builds. Will split it up in baggies for various purposes. I'm stocking up more now and will use my new, indestructable vape case which will latch on to a belt loop or something with my BOB gear. Hold a lot. Use thick plastic bags and put the silica packets in them. I've been saving silica just for that purpose. ;-)

Came home yesterday to piles of vapemail. Two packages from Health Cabin containing 4 Ehpro Kayfuns lite, 5 Lemo's and 2 mods. All stuff $5 each. Another package from FT (did not have to sign) containing replacement glass for all of these and orings for the 5 STM's I bought from Vape Happy for $10 each. Less than $200 and I feel I am set for toppers and mods. Already had mega amounts of VW mods stored away (VTC, Cloupors, Isticks and Vaporflasks)
Will I need orings for the Kayfuns? And do they make a bell cap for the Kayfun? I have tons of bellcaps for STM and my fav Taifuns.
