Just received some smok battery fuses for my becon mod that does not have a spring, nor is it kick compatible so I feel better having the fuses. Also just ordered another Zmax V3. Can't beat the price on that and I'm kind of surprised they have any left since the last one I ordered months back.

I think those who think they have two more years are in for a rude awakening. Just look at the States passing laws, taxes etc. They're all Pigs at the trough....

I genuinely hope they can thumb their noses at us in 2 years time and say "See,I told ya."
I hope all their preferred vendors stay in business, all their preferred device manufacturers stay in business, prices don't skyrocket due to scarcity, credit card companies will still allow purchases, and the states postpone revenue attempts for those 2 years. That's the best case scenario for all of us.

I'm just not that optimistic.

I am sort of stashing more Mercedes type things. I am looking for things that have stood the test of time. But there is so much out there for low price now hard not to pick up several $10 mods!
Years ago I would buy cheapest,,,,,and then I would have to replace it sooner rather than later. then I read to always buy the best you can,, and maybe even nicer than you can afford so it lasts even longer. that plan seems to work well. (after Hurricane Ike,, I try not to buy anything but the very best and as little as possible.......but this vaping hobby has grown quite a bit hahaha-------but part of it is my attitude and my husbands attitude: buy what ever you need to avoid going back to smoking!)

I'm always in on a sweet deal if it's something I like that fits my style. The super low priced clearance mods, both mech and regulated, have led me to do a lot more research to see if they fit my expectations. Some do but many clearance items have had durability issues of some sort, whether sticking buttons or so-so connectors. I've walked away from some seemingly great deals thanks to reviews and discussions here on ECF.

There have been really great deals over the last year or so as the slew of new products pushed solid older ones off the shelf. The key is to do one's homework. There have been some great mods and attys for as little as a buck, but there are also some that didn't ever sell well because they're crappy.

The topper deals have led me to open up my choices and learn a little more. I never thought gennys were worth the trouble, but now have a couple that I can wick well with silica and enjoy. I thought that all subohm tanks weren't worth my time as a low wattage MTL vaper, but the Kanger Subtank mini and nano deals led me to learning they can be effective for MTL, are rebuildable and have lots of cheap replacement seals, glass and bellcaps. Lesson learned!

Even though I continue to use my favorite setup day to day, my stockpile includes some fun choices that I now know will work for me. All at ridiculous low prices.

Now I just need to keep looking out for bulk super cheap LR Kanger CE4's to keep my wife in good shape for years to come. A hundred or so for about $20 would be nice! If not I'll eventually have to twist her arm to upgrade a bit and crack open the Vision Nova hoard :D

I just wanted to put this out here because I know Heartland Vapes has been rumored to have declined in quality recently.
I bought a liter of 100mg/ml from them which cost me $44.99 (which came to $53.50 including shipping to NY).
It came in an opaque plastic bottle, but I will be transferring it to glass asap.

The liter I received is crystal clear, colorless, odorless and has no peppery taste whatsoever - I'm very pleased with it.

I mixed up some 12mg unflavored last night as a test, and am vaping it now.
To me at least, it is indistinguishable from the sample of 100mg/ml that I received from Nude Nicotine, which I tested under identical conditions (unflavored at 12mg with identical dilutants, same tank/mod/coil setup).

Thanks, everyone for the suggestions. I'm looking into all of these. Out of curiosity, what makes certain mods more risky than others? (I have no knowledge of how electronics work or mechanical ability). Is it that the atomizer touches the battery itself? Just want to know for future reference because the product description on the SMPL didn't really say anything, and I just figured SMPL meant "SIMPLE"! Lol. *Edit* I went back and looked, and the description did indeed include a caution statement. In my case of FDA freakout, I overlooked it.

Honestly, I am probably not going to get around to using a mech until a true doomsday scenario, and after I've worn out all of my regulated mods. I still think it would be nice to have a couple, just in case.
That is it. Because the atomizer touches the battery directly, the protruding centerpin on the atomizer is crucial. Also why the danger in using atomizers with rubber grommet supported coil heads is a no no. If you mashed the switch and the center pin gets sqashed in, the 510 threads could possibly touch the battery, and that would be a hard short. With a hard short, battery could vent, pressure could build, and mod could go BOOM!!!

I'm looking for 2-3 Mechs. Still shopping....

As far as I'm concerned, mechs ARE the Mercedes type things.
I have recently bought six King v1 clones, and they are unbelievably good quality.
They may have only cost $9 and change, but the machining is absolutely first class and they look expensive.
They are also extremely robust in design - I have disassembled one completely, and there are no obvious points of failure.
If I ever have to use more than one of my six, it will be because I lost one, not broke one.

I've avoided buying the Eleaf iStick tc60s because several comments on myvaporstore.com say that it feels cheaply made. So you're saying I should add to my arsenal? The price is right.

I'm also an STM junkie, and wondering about the longevity of all the spare o rings. I saw someone post about storing them in water, and then I thought that maybe storing them in PG would be even better. Thoughts on that?

My wife loves the TTM, but I haven't even been able to find spare o rings for those.

I've been thinking about stocking up on Protank 4s now as well since it avoids the o ring question. But you can't replace the glass on those...decisions, decisions.

So far my tc60s were solid, performing well and easy to operate (no tc for ss though). To me they feel tougher than my VTCs. I'd go for the pico now, might you consider getting more mods. And maybe some spare Cuboids.

Perhaps storing the o-rings in a vacuum bag is an option i could consider. But otherwise i'm sure we'll come up with alternatives, if there are no spare seals in say 10 years.

Toptank o-rings are hard to get, i have these few links:
Kanger seal ring for TOPTANK-MINI
Kanger Toptank Mini Rubber Rings (Full Set of 6) - KangerTech US
5 Bags of Seal Ring for Kanger Toptank MiNI

Yep, I'm pushing 30 mechs now. Other than a couple all of them are quality authentic's bought on sale. Heck got 3 very good quality tube mods for $5 each. 2 Arthas mods for $29 each. The deals are out there, just got to keep an eye out for them.

You might be Surprised.

There is (to Me) something Very Cool about the inherent Simplicity of a Well Made Mechanical Mod. Something of a Purity of Function.

There is also Satisfaction from getting the Exact hit you want on a Mech for a given Atomizer. Because the Hit you get is Completely dependent the Build you put in an Atomizer.

This, though, is kinda a Double Edged Sword. Especially when you are Relatively new to Building Coils. Because you can fine tune the hit on Regulated Mod by changing the Output Voltage / Resultant Wattage. Something that Can't be done with a Mech. So a Mech can be Frustrating if one Doesn't have some experience with Building Coils and Wicking.

But without Dark there can be No Light.

And getting a Mech to hit the way you want it to is Part of the Cool Factor.

My stockpiling efforts seem to revolve around stock piling only what I can find CHEAP. I have some expensive stuff (2 Provari's, etc) and I usually buy things that will last for the long haul (Toyota 4runner) in this case, since things do break and since a warranty can be useless if the company folds due to regs (look at Indiana) I am kind of using the mentality of getting throw away stuff.
My usual motto in life is:
If it is a great deal and something you will always use BUY as much as you can fit in your car. You should see my laundry soap, toilet paper and cat litter stash. Sometimes it is hard to pull my car in the garage and I have a two car garage and only one car!
As a prepper, I resemble your post! lol.

The problem is mostly in hybrid mech's.

NEVER use an Atty on a mech unless it has a prominent 510 sticking out 1.5 mm.

If you have a soft spongy o ring tge collar can touch THR battery top creating a hard short.

I have had good luck with

Istick60tc
Istick Pico
eVic VTC Mini

Would recommend ALL of them. Of the three the Pico is my favorite just because it is so pocket friendly.

Since there is the possibility that what I have now is all that I will ever have, I have requirements for the mods I buy.
TC w/ SS mode -only way I vape now
Small form factor -small hands
Single, 18650 - again, small hands, I like lightweight and I want everything to accept the same batteries
Upgradable firmware- I know this probably won't matter later, but at least I can update it for now. *I would buy a mod without the upgrade feature if it's been around a while and there don't seem to be problems with it.
Inexpensive- As @chanelvaps said, I don't see warranties being worth anything later. I'd rather buy 5 less expensive mods than 2 expensive ones with a warranty.

My biggest concern is storing flavor's, right now they're still available, not sure if they will in the near future.
I'm with you.... there are a lot of flavorings out there other than the basic flavors used for cooking.
Some of them I really like ... so the ones I like, I have bought extra of, and threw them in the freezer.
They are based in PG, and should keep a long time.
Freezing doesn't seem to fade or destroy flavors in the frozen foods in the grocery store.
In any case, they are cheap when the sales run, and I'd not be out much $$$$
If it works, I'm a happy camper :p

You should see my laundry soap, toilet paper and cat litter stash. Sometimes it is hard to pull my car in the garage and I have a two car garage and only one car!
Hey !! ... there's no "pull date" on TP , I do the same thing :)

Actually this is the worst time to begin using a mech. If you're ever going to use them, you need to do it when you have plenty of other mods to vape with. It's not something you just slap together in a hurry when you're jones'ing for a nic hit. You definitely need to make sure that you know how to use it safely. I am probably considered a "fan girl" and I suppose I am, but it's with good reason. For someone who has an intermediate knowledge (me) I believe Reos are the safest mech there is. Yes they're expensive, but as the poster I quoted below said, you can buy a lot of cheaper things that may or may not last, or one or two quality items that literally will still be going after we're all dead. There is a lot to be said for community also. I wouldn't have attempted all that I have as far as mechs, coil building, DIY etc without the folks to guide me, teach me, and sometimes save me from myself that I found in the Reo threads, and the porch.
I'm not kidding when I say you can't kill them. For those who are considering one, or have just bought one, here's a tidbit for ya to feel great about your purchase, or possible future purchase. This pic doesn't do the size of this machine justice, but considering that the claw is holding probably 6 or 8 trees, I would imagine the tires on this thing are about as tall as a man.
Vaping Bush's 648G John Deere grapple skidder that ran over Reo his had chains on.jpg

Picture this beast with chains on the tires. One of our Reonauts dropped his Reo grand, and this machine ran it plumb over. He pried/dug it out of the rock road. The atty was snapped. He got a carto out of his truck, screwed it on the 510 and vaped the rest of the day on it!! show me a tube mech or any other mod that can do that!

Years ago I would buy cheapest,,,,,and then I would have to replace it sooner rather than later. then I read to always buy the best you can,, and maybe even nicer than you can afford so it lasts even longer.
Precisely! Sometimes there are great deals, and sometimes a really expensive item is garbage, but for the most part you get what you pay for.

I didn't mean to barge in with Reo talk, but someone saw Justin's post about mechs and asked one of us to come tell him about Reos. I was the first one who saw it. I'm gonna go back to my corners of ECF now, but if anyone has questions about Reos, feel free to PM me, or come visit us at the Reo lounge

I'm ordering all PICOs for the wife. Only silver. She's a woman that knows what she wants.

I, on the other hand, am buying black, blue, and stainless steel varieties from eLeaf, P4Y, Wismec, Sigelei, and a few others to be named later for myself.
