My two $54 DHL shipments from Aspire (Hong Kong) are "on hold" at Cincinatti hub's customs for the last 3 hours. They better let them go by Monday!

Mine updated from "origin post is preparing shipment" to "Your item arrived at our USPS facility in CHICAGO, IL 60701 on August 3, 2016 at 8:26 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination." It either has been spending a few days doing the slow crawl through ISC in Chicago and was never scanned when it was accepted or released, or (and this is my personal favorite scenario) the customs agents are so beleaguered with a huge increase of packages rolling in they just gave up in frustration and threw a bunch on the trucks to clear the piles.

Did some digging on the Innerwebz and apparently that means the shipment has been flagged for a physical inspection at customs.

Unless you found some colored mason jars, you can shut out the light by putting a sock over them ... light is not good for nicotine either.
That also helps to keep them from "clinking" together.
BTY, PG and VG both shrink in the freezer, so filling to the top was the right move.
They also will not freeze solid ... not in home freezers

Kurt, the ECF guru on nicotine says to leave headspace in the bottle. Do NOT fill it to the rim. He filled several bottles to the rim and placed them in the freezer, then took one out and it happened to be around 80F...the nicotine base expanded and was all over his desk.

$108 worth of backup gear for friends. Pissa.
Can't see them holding it until next week just so it can be seized.

Likely just a backup. Happens a lot to me when I ship to the U.S. as well as have US shipments sent to me in Canada.

Yup, know Kurt, he's been around for a long time ... but, I didn't say "rim" ....1/3 to 1/2 inch from the top, is "to the top" for me.
Guess I should of been more specific
When I thaw mine out it does not expand, but that may be because I do it slowly.
I know ahead of time I will be using it, and I just move it from the freezer to the bottom shelf in the frig for a day or two.
That way it warms slowly, .. no sudden shocks in temp.
I know some that have moved it, (as Kurt did), from the freezer into hot rooms, and the glass actually cracked.
I'm in no hurry, so I just take it easy ... no problems :) ... it will end up too precious to lose sameday.

Thanks all for the tips on storing nicotine. I just made the largest order I have ever made. I think I'm good for a while.

The only bottles I could find that were affordable were clear glass and I was wondering what to cover them with. I will go shopping for some little socks. :)

They're going in your freezer, and it's dark in there, right? If so, the fact that your bottles are clear is not really relevant. In fact, if I were rebottling nic for freezer storage, clear glass would be my preference, since that would allow me to inspect the nic for color changes every once in a while, something that isn't practical with amber or cobalt bottles.

You could wrap the bottles in aluminum foil. Cheap enough and then like Rossum said you could easily inspect it for color whenever you wanted.

I have both the amber colored and clear glass and treat them both the same.
I get a large one gallon freezer bag, I take the bottle and wrap a couple of paper-towels around it, sometimes twice and put it in the bag and take as much air out of the bag as possible while zipping it up.
I figured that if something happens to the bottle in the freezer or when I take it out to use, that the spill will be contained in the plastic bag. At least that is the hope. Have not had any breakage or spills doing it this way.
