You really don't have much faith in those fancy regulated mods, do you?

Not after reading the earlier adopter board i don't.. Out of a couple dozen I have had only one fail on me personally that wast self inflicted though.

I do have faith in my own skills though, that will sve me,.,,,,,

Wire is a must have for a BOB.

Recommended gauge, Yiana? I was thinking 16 and of course 26. Wanna get it before the sale ends. Will get a lot. Hubby and I will need to split it in case we get separated. BTW, LA Police Gear has an awesome BOB with lumbar support and fantastic compartments. We have one. It weighs about 5lbs, but so worth it. Unfortunately, I have back problems and had to return mine. But, if the shots I'm receiving work, I'll buy again. Outstanding. I tried it on and wow, just wow. LA Police Gear Operator Backpack

I have to guess no. Can't imagine it would even be possible. On an issue like vaping supplies they might be looking at enforcing 50 different sets of complex rules, which could change constantly.

On Jul 1st the Indiana regs come into effect. Sellers outside the State can only sell juice in the State if a) the buyer is an entity registered by Indiana, and b) the seller is a vendor registered by Indiana. I think. And those rules are very fuzzy and badly written, they are likely to be spruced up down the road. Nobody is sure yet if they apply to foreign vendors, or to raw nicotine, for example.

I don't see any way DHS could stay up to date with that kind of mess, times 50. Even if they opened up a package, there is no way they could figure out if all the State rules were being followed.

That's the practical problem with doing it. I have no idea whether they are mandated to do it, or allowed to do it, legally, or whether they currently do it for other product groups. Doesn't seem likely though. Maybe someone here knows.
I figure if DHS is involved it will be for intercepting foreign imports of vaping goods.

Nothing wrong with having backups to the backups to back up the backups and some extra backups just to be sure;)

This is what I'm trying to figure out too - I'm buying RDA cores for the tanks I like that have them (Cleito, Crown, TFV4), plus extra tanks, as fast I can. Nic is obvi the first priority though, money-wise. I'm almost there. I switched to Wizard and eliq so no worries about Cali/NN.

I want to preserve the vaping experience I enjoy as much as I can (regulated, hi-wattage, configurable box mods with high quality top-fill rebuildable-core tanks), and am trying not to run around like a beheaded chicken wasting money. That's one reason I want to see some advanced DIY plans out there so badly. I really think over the next year or so the community will explode with inmost ice and advanced DIY hardware solutions. I'm very excited about that, actually. But trying to anticipate how to prepare for that BEFORE 8/8 is really tough.

OTOH, as we are seeing, the states aren't even waiting until 8/8 to f*** us over. It's maddening. How are they even doing this without their constituents' mandate, or at least consent? Regardless there's clearly no time to waste. 8/8 is right here, right now :(
Just remember them come election day AND insure they know why

I use a Coil Master, and man I love that thing!!! Worth every penny of the $8 it cost, times a hundred. I wonder if this will be banned 8/8? I mean, coils are in lots of things - but at these sizes? Does anyone know? Should we be stocking up on coil winders too?
I hate the knurling on the holding screw, it will destroy a Clapton every time.

I use the UD jig

I've been thinking about this. Sure there are those 'wantabes' that never secured their supply of smokes. They would show up for a weekend outing with 1/2 a pack and admittedly smoke 1PAD. Those of us that prepared would offer comments such as "so your quitting this weekend eh?". [emoji38]

I have no sympathy for those folks.

I suppose there are a BUNCH of folks that simply wander into their local B&M to get supplies. Unless the B&M mention the deeming their customers have no idea. The same goes for every 'vaping' related website I've made purchases from over the last few weeks and months. Not a peep on the deeming.

So unless something is mentioned on the 6pm news it is rather doubtful that John/Jane Q. Public vape user knows what is going on. Unless of course they venture to sites such as this one.

Then again the 4 local B&M's that I've wandered into in the last few weeks did not mention a thing about what is going on to me. I had to ask. All of them downplayed the situation rather than voice concern and outline the steps they are doing to fight it because their business will be greatly effected by it.

I have enough nicotine to last a very very long time. I have more mods and RTAs than I know what to do with. I vape unflavored so don't have to worry about that. Wire and cotton I can get from non-vaping related sources.

I'm prepared.;)
Yep, same here. Not a single B&M I've been in has nothing posted or talks about what is coming down, none! It's not like they're out of a job soon [emoji15]

I'm prepped, thousands of feet of wire, lots of Cotton, spare 510 decks, over 20 mechs, 1/2 dozen regulated Mod's, more RDA'S and RTA's that I will ever need. That and a couple liters of 100mg nic in the freezer.

FDA with the best government money can buy can all burn in hell!

I want a tube mech. That's another awesome deal on the kato box mech. I bet you're all stocked up. I'm pretty much going to stock mechs and I'll probably grab another zmax. I have a v5 coming in the mail. I guess I should get brass, but I'll settle for stainless too.

Kato clone with Serpent tank.

So what's the prevailing wisdom of the moment with regard to usage of what we currently have been using vs. using new mods, batteries, and what-not that we've recently bought for stockpiling? I've been vaping on Vision Spinners with Aspire Nautilus tanks, have several spare tanks and enough atomizers to probably get me to the end of the year ... I don't expect my 3 current Vision Spinners to last that long. I also have several eGo style batteries that still work, that I haven't been using. In my stockpile, I have a Provari P3 and one v2.5 ... one Caravela clone ... several Kayfuns (Lite Plus), some wire (not enough yet).

Should I preserve the Provaris and Caravela, and continue vaping with my Vision Spinners and eGo-styles until those die, then switch to the Provaris and Caravela?

Given your circumstance, that is what I would do.

@mikepetro,

In your dealings with DIY regulated mods, have you ever come across any chip sets, with through-board components on them?

I'm a damned competent solderer, but struggle with boards with SMT components.

My hunch on regulated mod failure, though I've never had one die on me, is that it is the fire button that is most likely to fail - maybe a voltage regulator - and a through-board rig would be much easier to keep running indefinitely with my current soldering station.

Have you ever seen a DIY design that uses through-board? Time to invest in a hot-air rig and learn SMT?

Nope, havent seen any through board stuff, only SMD.
The one failure I had on the DNA200 was in the charger balancing circuit.

That sounds like a good plan to me SpiritBear. I have put away all my Provaris and REOs to be used after my Evod, Ego and ISticks go kaput! The one and only mods that I know will last till I am long gone are my REOs! Wire cotton and batteries are all you need with the REO and I will be able to get all of that!

I have had extreme failure in getting a person of that age to switch. They get discouraged with tech. In my experience anyway. It overwhelms them and they stick with the stinkies. Let's face it. With stinkies, all you need is a cigarette and a lighter. No batteries, juice, or coils to worry about. My advice is to keep it as simple as possible. Keep it REAL simple. That's going to be hard to do with the royal reaming we are being forced to take. I wish you and your friend the best of luck. Prayers your way.

I agree with this. My mom (age 70+) was so very very confused about all the wick, coil, variable etc that it just was not possible. She is currently smoking and not doing well.
