In the beginning I was very .... about mixing juice. Did everything to the drop, recorded it all in a SS, played with all sorts of ratios and Unicorn Drops etc.

Now, I have gotten lazy. I vape at 36mgl. Now I just mix up a bulk batch of 50/50 40mgl base. This way I know I can add roughly 10% flavoring to it and hit my mark. So I take an empty 30ml bottle, add up to 3ml flavor, and fill up with my unflavored base, give it a shake and vape. The 10% math is always super easy regardless of what size empty bottle I use.

    YMMV, works for me.....
    I do the same...........

oops, I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with a stirrer. I was just trying to understand why it was needed and also letting others new to mixing that for me personally, it is unnecessary.

and hehehehehehe I wouldn't try to keep one from having FUN :D

No worries. Certainly wasn't offended that'd someone would point out it wasn't necessary- obviously, I've mixed all my juice so far without one.

I was just explaining why I wanted one, as part of the discussion.

    We gooch.

Coco Dahling! Good morning! I've done a LOT of research lately, and I am finding something very odd. Nicotine before it is mixed with VG and PG is outrageously stable. It seems that dissolution and oxygen that becomes absorbed in the bases is the real menace to nicotine.

The 3 things detrimental to nicotine, I believe in order of most severe to least, are:
    UV light
    Oxygen
    Heat

Plastic is oxygen permeable. Glass is not. For long term storage, beyond a year for a rough rule of thumb, I would avoid plastic. And that is providing that it is kept dark and cool. Here is an interesting test that was done. It only goes out 4 months, but it isn't difficult to extrapolate the results.

Hi LLB, always GOOD to see you! Bought one liter of nic (Nude) a few weeks ago and bought enough blue 120ml bottles for 2 liters so I need one more. Looking at the MFS one. coupon makes it a great price. Sort of considered adding some bulk bottles of PG and VG to my order but think I will wait. Thanks

A friend paid me back via paypal this morning so I immediately spent it all at fasttech. Picked up a couple more pico's, a cloupor mini, a bunch of kayfun parts and 3 more kayfuns.

I still feel totally unprepared and nervous...such a crappy time since the regs were released. I have at least 10 kayfuns with 10 replacements of each part, 8 removeable battery regulated mods, 4 mechs, 10+ years of nic, and a pile of other stuff and STILL feel totally unprepared. Wow.

It's hard to think 10 or 20 or 30 years ahead. What will last that long, etc.

I built my stirrer mostly because I just like building things, but one advantage is that it decreases potential for accidents with concentrated nicotine solution.
I add nicotine last, and when I pour it in, it is immediately sucked down to the bottom and mixed in by the vortex.
This means that there is no concentrated nicotine lingering around anywhere like the sides of the breaker etc, and if I was to spill the breaker, I know that the contents are already diluted to a not so hazardous concentration.

This advantage alone is not really big enough to warrant making a stirrer, but it's a nice bonus.
I ALWAYS added my nic last just in case i turned the bottle over.

My guess is even in a worst case scenario over the next couple years, things will loosen up as all the dumb myths and half truths are dispelled by default. Sure, things will be expensive but on this particular issue, draconian measures won't likely stand the test of time. I would say within 5 years and surely by 10 years.

I don't really care about the money part. It won't be cost prohibitive to the point where I won't partake. I didn't get into this stuff to save money. It was all about saving my life. Same with my wife. When we first switched in 2013 her mindset was to do it for a while and then quit completely. I told her that I had no intentions of quitting but would if I felt like it. Fast forward 3 years and she loves vaping more than I do. lol. I mean she absolutely loves it and now says she's never quitting unless she's forced to.

I got into DIY in 2013 for 2 reasons. I could never settle on pre-mix flavors so it was always a challenge. And I like control over what I consume wherever possible. We grow our own veggies and cook at home 99% of the time. I used to brew my own beer but it wasn't helping with my stomach size so I knocked it off. lol.

I feel sure we will not have a problem buying flavoring but I decided it was prudent to add 2 120 bottles of my favorite. Capella's Vanilla Custard-the good stuff not the reformulated for those that were afraid of the possibility of the D word being in it. I was afraid Bull City would have to pull the plug and it was less expensive through them than from Capella. I immediately transferred it to Cobalt blue bottles and after reading here this morning I think I should at least move it to the fridge.

BTW: I store all of my flavorings in glass. A friend kept a lot of hers in the plastic bottles they came in and sadly the different flavors mixed and mingled with all the different flavors in the box and had to be tossed. Glass seems to prevent that.

That is the first I've heard of flavors contaminating by jumping across bottles. Are you sure it didn't happen by using tools that cross contaminated flavors? Thinking measuring syringes and similar.

I can just go by what she told me. It is very possible that the liquid wasn't affected but all of the bottles smelled the same. she popped the caps and they all smelled the same. I personally won't take a chance on that happening to mine so transfer them to glass. If I remember correctly they had all been stored in the same box for quite a long time. Seems I remember it being a couple of years.
