...famous last words..."Hey y'all, watch this"....

You forgot the first part: "Hold my beer"

I also have a couple VV passthroughs in my stash. I don't think they would be particularly great to use, BUT they can be taken apart and used to build other things. ;)

How are you all figuring out how many tanks you plan on stockpiling?
I'm guessing 1 tank per 2 years, provided I get in addition to the tank, 2 spare glass sections, a spare o-ring kit, and some extra grub screws. I think it likely for me at least, that the tank will either get broken or lost over the 2 year period. Does this sound a little unrealistic? Maybe, I should plan on 1 tank per year?
What do you think?

I think o-rings and grub screws (as long as they aren't proprietary) will still be available with some searching. I have gotten a couple SS tanks as a last resort for when I break all the glass ones. As far as how many RTAs to stockpile, I don't know. For me, tanks are a convenience since I'm more than happy to drip.

Just Me. But I think the Replacement Glass is the Most Important Item.

I'm pretty Careful with my Mods/Atty's. But it seems like I can go a Year without dropping a Mod, and then in a Week, drop it 3 times.

Regular O-Rings and Screws are still going to be around. But Glass might be harder and Harder to get. If you Really Like a RTA, I would get Many Extra Glass section.

I know this question was directed towards someone else but I just had to reply......I'm interested in stocking up but I refuse to take on an end of the world mentality that many have adopted here- that's why I'm in a stockpiling thread. We went from talking about stocking up on nic & flavorings to parts & possibly machines which IMO is just overkill.
It's enough that the FDA has placed vaping in this position yet us scaring the hell out of each other regarding supplies doesn't help us either.....ijs.....
The post was in no way meant to sound inhospitable to anyone other than the one guy calling us dumba$$'s.

It is all about tolerance for risk, none of us knows what will happen in 2 months/years.

I respect everyone's decision. I hope you are right whatever you decide.

Sent from phone.

We should start a webshop called nonvapestuff.com where you can buy all kinds of parts. Like a spare glass tank - not to be used on a Subtank mini. Or an AFC Valve - do not use with a Protank. Spare parts - not for a Kayfun 3.1 or lite. O-rings - forbidden to use on a Toptank, replacement chimney - warning do not use on a Taifun GT-T.

PG/VG base for horses, nic for gardening, wicks and wires for crafts, mods for flashlight, flavours for baking, well you get the idea.

Agreed.
Good suggestion about buying lots of glass.
I'm looking at some RTAs with SS tanks but to be honest, I really can't see how I can use them with no way to see the juice other than getting dry hits to know when it's time to refill. LOL. I'm sure I'll get an idea of how much juice I go through in a tank and learn to check more often but it does seem to be a bit of a PITA.
Maybe there is a trick to this that I'm unaware of.

Perhaps a mod with temperature control?

FYI... When buying clones, take a few minutes and read reviews on them. I noticed some clones come with plastic insulators instead of PEEK insulators. Plastic insulators can melt at higher wattages. It is one thing to offer clones at reduced prices but cutting corners with cheap materials doesn't sit well with me.
As a note, I've noticed FT has an active community and product reviews are available for many of the clones.

I have been vaping a few years now and have dropped my mods numerous times. The 510 in my Cloupor Mini got broken loose when I dropped it in the garden and stepped on it. (Didn't realize it fell till I stepped on it) Besides a couple of scratches, that's the only damage I've ever had. Out of all of the times I've dropped them, I have never broken the glass on a tank.

I have bought spares for all the glass since I figure I will break them left and right once I can't find the glass for sale anymore!

*Oops, FT doesn't have the spare glass for the Serpent Minis yet, so I only have the spare glass in the boxes.

I have only broken 2 over the last 5 years but with my luck I figure it's best to stock up :) I have at least 5 spare glass tanks (along with o-rings, insulators, screws and bases) for each one of my attys, they are so inexpensive anymore it's good insurance for longevity.

When I'm working around the House or the Yard, I like to use a "Beater" Mod and a Subtank Mini. Dropping a scratched up Mod doesn't bother me. And I got 2 of these one time ...

$8.29 Authentic KangerTech Replacement Pyrex Glass Tank for SUBTANK Mini (5-Pack) 5-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

If I know that I am going to be Doing something where the is a Better chance of Dropping/Breaking the Glass on my RTA, I go with a Subtank Mini. Cause I got Lots of Spares Parts for them.

BTW - I know that it is Kinda a PITA to do. But if you buy a Bunch of Replacement Glass sections, you should Really check Each one when you get them to Make sure they Fit.

If you have 1 or 2 of every tank that's ever been released then you have that # times whatever different glass tubes to stockpile nevermind different coils if they're drop in premade style.

I have 7 Crown tanks and they all use the same size glass, orings & coils.
I have 4 Augvape Boreas RTA, same thing
15 or so Steam Crave Aromamizer V1/V2 RTA - same thing

Find the gear you like best if you haven't already and pile THAT up.
I've been selling and trading what I don't like for what I do all along.
I know what I like so that's what I have room for. Only that.
Now's not the time to experiment.
