On stockpiling after FDA deeming regulations

I tried to rebuild a protank once and it was quite dreadful. But my son will use an eGo twist with a protank sometimes instead of smoking. And I like to encourage that so I stocked him up on twists, tanks and prebuilt coils for them. And I bought those insulators and a package of prebuilt, prewicked wires to hopefully make the chore easier if he uses all his packaged ones. I may end up somewhere down the line throwing them all out and giving him a Provari with one of my tanks. But I'm going to have to get really, really frustrated with it to give him one of mine.

Soak the metal pieces in denture cleaner for a couple of days or if I'm in a hurry, just over night and then add the rubber parts that have been sitting in water during that time. Give all of it a really good shake. Dump them out into a strainer and run it under super hot water to get them really clean. I use a pipe cleaner and a q-tip to finish the cleaning of the metal parts. Allow all pieces to dry and then store them until I am ready to rebuild. I can actually rebuild all of them in about an hour or so. I use the pre-coiled pre-wicked coils from fasttech so rebuilding, for me, is a breeze. It was harder to do before I made a holder that holds the coil head with the coil in the perfect spot while I insert the insulator and then the pin.

What is the holder you might ask well I will tell you It is actually the lid on the top of my ibuprofen bottle I searched the house over for something that would work and right there it was right in front of me.

Not sure I would like the pre-wicked. I like a coil I can pull wick out of and use again and again. I do dry burn them. Shorts blasts. If you have good symmetry with your coil it does not burn the insulator

My way probably wouldn't work for you and that is another of the wonderful things we have going for us. We can all find the best way for ourselves The pre-made coils I buy have lead wires welded to the coil wire so the leads don't burn the insulator but they do tend to pop at the weld joint so are mostly unusable after that so no dry burning for them. They are so cheap and so easy for me to replace it just works for me.

You can use the orchid tanks on any KFL/3.1 as well. It's nice to see all the juice and also nice not to care if you strip the threads. Shaves some weight off the rigs too. The 3.1 is an anchor so it's really nice taking some load out of that one. I have 20 of both sizes in storage. I'll probably grab 20 more just cuz.

Being a fairly early adopter of vaping I'm stuck on MTL hardware. MTL is also a good way to conserve juice and it's similar to pulling on a filter cigarette, so it feels kind of familiar. I can tell a big difference in daily juice consumption when I vape at 8W vs 10W.

I recently read an article by a reviewer that mirrored my preferences. He got tired of vaping 30ml a day and switched back to MTL. Some of us don't have to impress people with huge plumes of vapor. We just stealth vape and enjoy the fact that big tobacco no longer has a hold on us.

FDA Deeming has me shopping for hardware I like. I had three RTA's before Deeming. Now, I have 2 KF3.1's, 3 KF4's, an Orchid V4, an EHPro Squape, a Lemo Drop. I have one Black and one Stainless KF lite plus V2's on the way! I've been shopping the sales.

I'm trying to figure out the differences on Squape clones. Best I can tell, the Squape was the original and does't have adjustable air control. The Squape (R) is a smaller version of the Squape Reloaded and both have an AFC? It's a more complex market with new tanks and more features.

Gotta say at just 25$ each (and free shipping) I'm -loving- the 75watt Pico. It's even smaller than my Kato mechs which I -never- thought a regulated mod could do. For me the only negative is being limited to 22mm (or smaller) atomizers but fortunately all my favorite attys are 22mm so I'm good. My old V1 Magma is actually around 22.5mm in diameter (because of its air adjustment ring) but it still fits. Think I might get a "few" more for the stockpile, definitely a mod I wouldn't mind being stuck with the next decade or two.

I have 6 pico's now for my wife and I. I'm diversifying though. None of us really know how long any reg mod will last and what kind of durability the threads have. I have 3 VTC mini 2s and 2 Cloupor mini's.

The cloupor is nice and simple with magnetic door and tight firing button. No TC or anything and 40 watts max (I never go over 20). It came with a silicone sleeve. I've never messed with sleeves before but now that I'm in "high mileage" mode I've been using it. I've grown to like the feel of it. I may buy some for my other mods.

I've been using a clouper + Kayfun v3 mini+ clone the last few days. Pretty much love both:

It is not necessary to spend a lot. for me $300 is more than enough. Of them only $100 is possible waste if nothing changes (second Pico, VTC mini, a few tanks, some spare parts)

That's what concerns me. The longevity/durability of regulated mods is somewhat of a gamble, small portable electronic devices are at best delicate/fickle. 510 threads can be a problem for any mod (especially if they're brass) but stainless steel threading is pretty durable -plus- I use top fill attys so rarely unscrew them anyway. I do have several Katos and a few other mechs in storage that are -highly- durable so regardless of how things shake out I'm well covered but I think I'll add half a dozen Picos to the stockpile, should be enough to last a long while.

I hear you, I've spent more on nic, mods and attys in the past two months than in the three years prior but I'm well stocked and completely self sufficient for decades, nothing the FDA or states do will effect me. They'll not force me to do anything and won't be getting a single penny in taxes or fees.... that's my "happy" thought for the day.
