Protank 2 coils are very easy to rebuild (I have 10 and over 100 coils that I've been rebuilding for almost 3 years). There are several video's out there (google search) that show you how. If you don't already have one, pick up an air flow control base for it here. E Cig | Electronic Cigarette Accessories - Mt Baker Vapor Insulators and top caps can be found here Lightning Vapes - All the RBA supplies you need, shipped same day! under replacements. Wire here Resistance Wire I use Kanthal 30 guage. I use cotton cooking twine for the wick because it easy to thread into the coil using a bead needle. (Or, twist some 32g wire together and make your own.)

Good choice on the Provari. A very reliable, well built mod. (I have 4 2.5's and 2 Radius.)

So it sounds like I maybe did good by ordering all the ProTank replacement coil heads? I haven't ordered anything extra yet for the nautilus.

Here's a dumb question about those. Aspire is the brand name, yes? Then nautilus, triton, cleato are different tanks?

I will definitely check out mt baker vapor, lightening vapes and the kayfun light plus. And I wll be back with more questions. I appreciate you all taking the time to help me out.

Somewhere out there
I have 2L of nic broken down and in the freezer. Will most likely buy more. I have a general understanding (glass, polycone, little headway) for storing.

I have a dozen ego style batteries and about 130 CE5's 3/4 of them are rebuildable (this is what I use all day every day :( ) 1 Kanger ProTank 2 and 50 replacement coil heads. I just picked up 3 Provari 2.5's, extender cap, batteries and the Aspire Nautilis tank w beauty ring. I feel so unprepared. Smh, my own fault I know.

Am I understanding correctly that (since I've never built anything)trying to rebuild the ProTank and or Nautilis is not something I want to take on?

Kayfun is popular and easy for a beginner? Which one should I look into as I see so many versions. I also have written down aspire triton and cerotank to look into.

At this late stage in the game I feel like I just need to pick something that works and stock up on parts whether I love it or not because having something is better than smoking.

One last question for now, are all ecf suppliers reputable? I've only used a few.

Sorry for the word vom, but I remembered to use paragraphs at least. ;)

I used evods and protanks before switching to Kayfuns. The single coil protank heads aren't really difficult to rebuild, though the kayfun is easier.

The most often recommended Kayfun clone seems to be the EhPro Kayfun lite V2. I have 2 of those in my stash box, but haven't used them yet, I'm still using an assortment of brand-less fasttech KFs. ( and tobeco kf4 and orchids ) The construction of the ehpro kf certainly look superior to all but one of my fasttech tanks. I don't think you'd go wrong with a few ehpros.

With 40 years worth of nic put away, I have no worries. :) Then there's the additional cost of the walk-in freezer that would be required to store it. So I think I'll pass. :D
That's not the only problem Ross ... can you just see us trying to pour out enough for a bottle
Maybe we could use a dipper :p They could at the least, put a spigot on it

But I COMPLETELY AGREE with your assessment of the individual states being bad actors here. Several (including mine, WA) are jumping the gun already and beginning to push onerous and restrictive legislation AHEAD of 8/8. ;)
You are defiantly right about being more afraid of what the states can do in the meantime.
PS ... Patty M is NOT on our side .. if fact she is in a committee fighting against us, in DC :(
We were lucky to get off as "soft" as we did in the last set of rulings ... but it's comm'in :grr:

I was advised to get the EHPro KFL+ V2.
I bought a couple of these back in January when they still had SS
Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Dual Airflow Clone by EHPro
They still have white but it has to be SS or black for me. OTOH you can't go wrong for $5/whack

I can't recommend enough to buy your preferred kayfun bases in 5 packs from FT or whatever China supplier you prefer. The interchangeable parts with orchids and various bell caps make the possibilities endless.

27mm replacement tanks work with the short chimneys and 34mm with the long ones. You can mix and match all day long and they all vape the same.

Plastic tanks will eventually strip threads but 50 cents a shot for a tank that will last a year with good care is still a good deal. One benefit to a PC tank section is it will never crossthread or strip the base or top cap.

Ah, yes, that's the one I got. That was back in January. At that price I'm surprised they have any left at all.

I have been meaning to ask, how long will a Kayfun last? I have metal tanks for mine too, figured they last longer. I have replacement parts. I have 8 Kayfuns.

I have several lites and 3.1 clones in regular rotation since 2013. O-rings have been the only replacements. Deck screws and tank sections are original. Good as new.

I've accumulated about 30 tanks worth of parts since. My wife has been using a lite base, short chimney, 27mm PC tank, and orchid top cap the last couple weeks. She loves it. No leak top filling. Easy peasy.

I know I would probably fall in love with the many other brands out there like a merlin or squape or whatever. But all tanks have a learning curve with good wicking, filling, coil, etc. I don't feel like messing with anything right now. If a kayfun style tank misbehaves I know exactly what's wrong and how to fix it. I'm not in the position to start fresh right now with tight time frames we are facing.

I've been using a v3 mini plus clone lately and love it. Better flavor and bigger capacity than the 19mm 2ml versions. I might buy a few more. It's been flawless refilling and wicking. I like tanks that behave. Lol

How many airflow bases, insulators and top caps should I be stocking up on?

If you bought 5 bases and caps, 5 short and 5 long chimneys, and 30 PC tanks you would be good for a decade. Screws and o-rings will always be available. You can buy everything I listed for $65.

Lite bases are the most restrictive airflow. V2s are more airy. Monster v3 bases are the most airy. I personally prefer the lite and v2s. But we're all unique.

Don't overlook bell caps. They're fun but bottom fill is required on the rounded top ones. I ordered some with the chimney that secures to the cap but don't have them yet. If they work as expected you can bottom fill protank style.

Personally, instead of buying spare parts, I put that money towards extra complete tanks.

I do have lots of extra kf tank pieces, but that was because I wanted different colors and sizes. In two years of using kfs, the only part that's broken is one plastic tank, and that was after being dropped 3 or 4 times.

I got a white one from there as well. I got a black one from here:

KayFun Lite Plus V2 by EHPro - Custom Vapes & E Cigs

A little more expensive, but still reasonable. The white one has a matte coating and looks true white, but the black one has a shiny metal coating. It's not quite true black, like a matte coating would have given it. It's nice, but I would prefer a truer black.

I picked up a couple of Rose Gold ones (from somewhere else) as well. My, are they nice looking! They would look fantastic on a copper mod.

Thanks, good to know! I have 4 Lite plus's and 4 mini V3 Kayfuns, figured they are pretty much tried and true :)

The only thing I care about from Vapage: Do they have their AMG Hybrid Atomizers on sale?

My favorite disposable atomizer!

I too have lists and full carts all over the place. What should I buy?!

Should I get more Kayfuns? I already have a dozen or so.

Should I get another Knight V1?

Should I stock up on cartos for my tanks?

etc.

ProTank heads are pretty easy to re-build. If you haven't already got some aero bases for them, they really help the ProTank shine. I've been using the PT2's since they came out, and I learned early on to remove the silica wicks and wick them with cotton. There used to be a bunch of threads on this back in the day. By re-wicking them before they get too gunked up, you can keep them coils running for a long time. I typically get several weeks to a month or more before the coil is toast, and then I re-coil them with res/ no-res wires to get even more life out of them. I like these:Kanthal Ready Wires
and prefer the 2.2Ω ones...YMMV, but the Protank with an aero base, and rebuilt with these wires is still a really decent vape for a low watttage MTL vaper like me. Good luck. :)
