Success story in the making here , too! I smoked 1 and 1/2 - 2 packs a day for almost 30 years. After seeing my father go through quadruple bypass surgery I put them down and was successful for not quite 5 years. I let stress get to me (lousy excuse, I know) and was smoking about 1/2 - 3/4 pack a day for about the last 6 months. Bought my last pack of analogs the morning of April 29 and my 901 arrived that afternoon. I continued to step outside and smoke an analog if I thought I needed to (I don't smoke in the house YUCK) and was just amazed at how little that urge was. On the morning of May 4 I smoked the last analog. At first the PV was like a pacifier and I seemed to always have it in my hand. LOL And there was indeed a learning curve and I'm still learning. But it was natural as could be to lay the analogs down, totally painless. And I find that the need for the e-cig has become less over the last couple of days so I think I'll try stepping the nic level down a notch and see what happens. My smokers cough was gone pretty quickly and I'm not nearly as congested (and I was blaming it on allergies! lol) I have a lot more energy. The only complaint is from my husband, who is thrilled that I'm no longer smoking, but says by the looks of the kitchen counter, it appears a junkie lives here. Little bottles of liquid, syringes, my "rig" he calls it.

Anyway, I'll be smoke free a week tomorrow morning and I feel amazingly better.

Thought I would give this whole e-cig thing a try, never with the intent of quitting analogs, just thought of using where smoking is not allowed. Smoked a few analogs a day for the first couple of weeks, while figuring out hardware, nic levels, etc. To my shock, after about 2 weeks, once I had the whole vaping thing down, I stopped analogs completely. I couldn't even tell you the date! Well over a month ago and I have to say this has been the easiest transition I could have asked for. The first week, I thought about an analog a few times a day, now they smell gross and I can not imagine going back. In the past I had tried every option out there, chantix, patches, gum, lozenges, inhaler, etc. to no avail. 35+ years of nonstop 1-2ppd my entire adult life. I had resolved that I would die a miserable death, then I found the e-cig. I still am amazed that I haven't had an analog, don't want one and all this without even really trying. My son has joined in and been smoke free for at least a couple of weeks now and is doing great. Has also realized analogs stink and wants no part of them anymore. My daughter has cut down, but is still in the doing both stage. She has an insane schedule and just hasn't put the time into learning to vape properly. I am sure she will be joining us in the not too distant future, as she is already feeling weird when she goes outside for a smoke, while the rest of us can enjoy vaping in the living room! There really is a learning curve with this product and I will never be able to properly thank all the oldtimers here who passed on their knowledge. Thank you all!

After twenty years of smoking and numerous attempts at quitting cold turkey and with the help of patches, gums, pills, inhalers and hypnotism, I decided to get an e-cig. I smoked a couple cigarettes the first few days vaping, but then found I didn't feel the urge to smoke an analog. I'm going on three weeks now and I haven't touched a regular cig.

The amazing part is that because I didn't really intend to quit, I never threw away my cigarettes. How many recent quitters do you know of that can have a pack in the car without smoking them? That alone shows you what PVs are worth.

Ive been vaping for around 4 months now and have the occassional cigarette here and there, probably 2-3 analogs per week. Before I was a 1/2 to one pack/day for 10years. Ecigs have been the only thing to help me quit. Ive tried everything but pharmaceuticals like Chantax. I believe it depends on personality type as of how one quits or continues to use analogs. My wife's grandfather was a 3 pack/day smoker for 60 years and has totally quit, just using ecigs. He sees everything black and white, and prides himself on will power. I however don't sweat it if I have a few real cigs here and there, it kind of takes the pressure off of "failing" Just my 2cents......

46 years smoking and now I am free. I smoked 2 to 3 packs per day. I don't know the exact date of the last one I smoked. I am just glad it is over I am so thrilled that I didn't start snacking like I did every time I tried to quit before. I love showing off my new ecig and passing out Jason's cards.

Quit 2-28-2009 using nic gum. Gained 15 pounds trying to stay smoke free- On 3-21-09 I lost my will power and went buy a pack of cigarettes, cried as I stood in line waiting to buy them. Was told about the e-cig- went to the mall and tried ecig, came home and learned quickly about them-bought my 901 online the same day- educated myself on the ecig while I waited very impatiently for it to arrive in the mail.
I haven't craved a cigarette since that day it came in the mail... went from medium to low nic and now use low/no nic. Now: lost some weight, hate the smell of cigarettes with a passion, will *never put a tar stick in my mouth again.

I completely quit a little more than 2 weeks ago, although I was told it doesn't count until the 3rd week. The day I got my DSE901 I started vaping a lot and didn't realize that I wasn't smoking the last of my analogs, 3 days after I started I tried to smoke one of my Kools and gagged, I could actually taste it so I tossed it and gave the rest of that pack to my friend.
